    Hi, first time watching your channel. Who can resist watching a Costco haul, we live in northern bc and our closest town is two hours away too and I am so thankful we have a Costco there, I do most of our shopping for the two of us there. We only go to town once a m9nth or every two months so we like to stock up too, great video, thanks 🌷🇨🇦

      Good job. Glad someone else can relate on the 2 hour trip one way...! We hope to eventually go once a month like you guys do. It will be about a $2,500 haul.
      Don't have the finances quite yet for that but working towards it... that's the smartest use of time though.
      Thanks for watching us! Hopefully next haul is even better and bigger!😊

    Just out of curiosity how do you use your refrigerator as a fridge without a converter we also live off grid but we're here in Michigan We run our generator for about four hours a night that is to keep our big upright freezer at proper temperature with all our meats in it but we also have a chest freezer I was going to turn into a refrigerator with a converter

    • @Alaskan6pack
      @Alaskan6pack  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello there. We run all of our power with our generator too. We have a few different freezers. Our huge upright we use as a " fridge". We have other chest freezers that are " freezers" for meat, etc... We chill off the tall upright enough to reach fridge temp then turn generator off. Sounds similar to what you do...
      We just use extension cords from generator to freezers.
      I am doing a video soon on tools and product reviews at our homestead.
      We do talk about generators. Brady, my middle son, is a self taught mechanic.
      He has been amazing on fixing generators that break or go bad...which happens often especially in the winter!

      Wow! 118 degrees!!! I am so sorry to hear about your trees and garden. That's horrible. Weather seems to be impacting food crops in many places.
      Hang in there... hopefully you can start another garden next year... will be crossing my fingers for you.

      Hello there! Well first it was about 50 degrees out that day, so nice temps.
      We put all the frozen stuff under a thick blanket and in a box.
      It worked great. Everything was still frozen when we arrived at our cabin.
      Thanks for watching!😊

      Hello there! I don't know if you watched until the end but I did mention there was a viewer that wanted us to try Aussie Bites but I couldn't find them that day in Costco. I am not sure if you were that viewer? However we did look, but didn't find this trip! Possibly we will discover them next haul. I was happy with all the great deals we found including the lighters! We pay $6.99 per lighter in the small town where we live. Crazy expensive. I just love Costco

      We were eating frozen organic blueberries yesterday we got at Costco
      The fresh fruit here through the winter sometimes is not very good...so I like your suggestion!!

      @@Alaskan6pack We used to have two Sam's here, but when they did the nationwide cutback on locations, they axed both of them. I like Costco better (I shop @ Dimond) but when we had the Sam's Clubs, it eased some of the crowds at the Costcos. We do have FOUR Costco's in Anchorage if you think about it.. The two regular Costco's (Debarr & Dimond) the new Costco furniture & appliance store next to Dimond Costco, and now the huge business Costco out at Tikahtnu (it used to be one of the Sam's) If you pull up videos on the Anchorage Costco Business Center, a lot of locals have created videos on it. Love your channel. 😊👍 p.s.. Freddie's does sell Duke's mayo (lots of it!) but I'd actually be interested in checking out that avocado oil based mayo you bought sometime..

    you stock up, drive 2 hours each way..what a waste to buy only 1 item..1 flat of beans, ione jar of mayo, one package of oats...this is not "stocking up".

    • @Alaskan6pack
      @Alaskan6pack  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      I understand your take on it. However with our limited space and finances it is "stocking up" to us. We live simple and small. This has changed our definition of meanings and words. Hopefully you understand what I am saying...
      As we build more structures on this property and shelving my trips will be bigger... and more duplicate items
      Of course I would love to take home 4 carts worth of items, but there is limited space.( for now) Thanks for watching!😊

    Good to see what you buy and how you spend your money at Costco.
    We do have it here in Australia but it kills it for me, I'm not going to pay something like $55 membership per year before I even start doing shopping.
