Your idea of sitting at the altar to recieve energy really resonates with me. Having a space in my home which is my own sacred space to just go and be, a space that is well-kept & loved in order for it to continue being a restorative place, is so huge and important for me. I could easily say it is the center of my witchcraft (besides myself). Love this video 🙏🌹

I loved the part when you mentioned sitting at your altar to receive power and not to give power. Something I have been struggling to acknowledge lately

A couple of things really landed for me with this one. Finding deep spiritual meaning in random things as you describes it appeals to me on as an animistic practice. The idea that all things have a spirit and therefor something to teach us.
Going to the altar or other sacred spaces to receive energy is also something I need to think on more.

Love Love Love your intro here. So beautiful it made me a little teary. 💖💖💖I really hope you don’t mind if I write it out so I can save it. And thank you for this video as a whole, super helpful and for me even validating. I often go to my alter just to sit there with my coffee just soaking it all in. … sometimes I’ll even do “mundane” stuff while I’m there like if I have paperwork for something that is making me feel anxious I’ll go and do it there and find comfort in it. Various activities that don’t seem witchy at all I’ll bring into my alter space and bring the support of my craft to it that way. Thank you again for all your hard work in making these videos, they are so incredibly helpful and supportive. 💖💖💖💖💖

When you were talking about defining witchcraft it definitely reminded me of conversations I've had about art. I feel like it's more about the relationship you have with the thing, rather than what specific practice you're doing.

Having a good de-clutter/tidy absolutely feels spiritual to me. I'm resetting the energy in my space. I mean, witches are traditionally associated with brooms! There's a lot to be said for sweeping/dusting/tidying away energy that doesn't serve us.

Love all of this! I hadn't really consciously thought about the back & fore transactional nature of my altar but outside of showing up for active rituals, I always check in, grab the relevant amulets and ask for guidance/luck/support/protection/shielding etc before I head out the door for any taxing activity. I hadn't considered this two way street thing was what I was intuitively doing till I heard you vocalise it, but it seems like a completely natural, authentic relationship. 😊

Just now seeing this and I believe that things happen for a reason. I was meant to hear this. I lost my mom and 3 years later my little sister got killed while on vacation.
I was completely lost and had a real problem with faith. As I have always had things happen that put me in line with my spirituality as a witch, I felt I knew where things fell into place, after my sister died it felt like everything was thrown up in the air like puzzle pieces to hit the floor and now, I'm trying to put it all back together. Some days and times are harder than others to just find inner peace.
We are all works in progress searching for what makes us complete, only some of us have to keep finding that "me guide" to our inner beings.
    Thank you..

Yay loved this Kelly-Ann! Getting energy from your altar and other sacred spaces is the best... spiritual practice isn't just another thing to push yourself to tick off your to do list. It's sacred and set apart, it spiritually feeds you and fills your well. Approaching mundane tasks from a witchy perspective is something I do a lot, and yeah, of course I don't think doing the dishes is witchcraft and that everyone who cleans dishes is a witch 😂 but it's the way I approach it, the intention I set, the way I focus on cleansing and the way I use it as time to quiet my mind and contemplate that makes it witchy FOR ME in that moment. Not sure I'd get the dishes done if I didn't get my witch on honestly... mama needs a dishwasher 😅 much love Kelly-Ann 💕🙌

Wow, this video helped me so much! I loved what you said about engaging in emotionally low-risk things when you’re feeling down or struggling. I recently went through an extremely painful and sudden breakup and it helps a lot to hear someone articulate what I’ve been feeling myself-that quite often, people aren’t the most reliable sources of comfort-especially when they may not understand what you’re going through and/or haven’t been through something similar. I’ve recently found a lot of comfort in a pair of boots I got several years ago as well as returning to old hobbies like crochet. These things have always supported me before, and I know I can rely on them to keep doing so. Before I heard you say this though, I had this nagging thought that it was weird or meant something bad about me as a person that I couldn’t always rely on other people. Hearing you say this really helps me see this practice as a normal human thing that can also be witchy and cool, and just a really effective way to get support. Thanks so much for your content. You are truly a blessing. ❤❤❤

I'm so happy that watching this video made you feel less weird/wrong for the experiences you've been having. I am also happy that you're getting comfort from a pair of boots. 👢 👢 🥰❤️ So relatable. I take a lot of comfort and inspiration in what I wear.

I 1000% agree with being a witch throughout mundane life stuff. Just as I'm always a woman, I'm always a witch. Cleaning my home, feeding my pets, working, decluttering, etc are all "witchy" to. I tend to look at each as a sacred act that supports my human self and life as well as everyone/thing affected by it. A clean home brings health and good vibes. Tending to my plants, pets and even feeding the birds, they all benefit from the love and intention of well being I imbue while caring for them. It's all witchy because I'm always a witch 🧹🪄

I’m in tears right now, this is hitting so close to home for me. I lost my brother to suicide in 2017. I’ve gone through the grieving processes with no support from family or friends. It’s hard to reach out and it’s hard for anyone to reach to me. It’s been so lonely and terrifying in a way that I couldn’t explain but you explained it perfectly.
A video like is this something I cherish deeply. Not only do I feel like it’s a message from my brothers spirit, giving me a stepping stone of hope but I also don’t feel like I have to do it alone. Thank you for being my access to the Divine ❤

Not me being called out for lighting candles and praying to Obi Wan Kenobi Lol
I loved the ven diagram analogy! The first thing that came to mind of my knitting especially when knitting row of really repetitive designs. It is quite meditative and I've found myself vey grounded after a good session, much like meditating at the altar! I should really bring my knitting to the altar, feels like something magical is bound to happen. Thanks for the inspiration K-A, as always x

This really resonated with me! Particularly the ideas of making witchcraft absurd - I burned out really hardcore this year and was unable to practice magic really, so I took a break. And now I'm just getting back to making witchcraft creative and fun and absurd. I love the idea of putting toys on the altar! I'm also going to be working deeply with the Alvdansen Tarot when I get it, which is very much about play

Thank you so much for making this video and talking about this, it resonated so much with my experience! I lost my Dad almost 2 years ago. At first, I was also "shoulding" myself a lot and putting pressure on myself to connect with him and stuff. Eventually it's when I let go of that and honoured my boundaries that I felt the most myself and hence connected to him.
The image that comes to mind is facing the storm of grief wrapped in a cocoon of self love.
Gros bisou sorcière collage! Merci! sending you so much love ✨💕

Oh my goddess, thank you for posting this topic today! I have been struggling to find my toe hold into witch-dom because I move energy on the fly, and to me moving energy, shifting perception, declaring an intention , those are my versions of spells. They happen in my mind while I'm doing certain mundane tasks like tidying. And it clicked that that's me witching! LOL I don't have to separate time out- I can and that's lovely, but this still counts. And right before Mabon where I have nebulous plans and knowing that's just right. Loved this. Thank you!

I love the idea of elevating the absurd. I am going to make a poetry book by Canadian poet Gwendolyn MacEwen as part of my practice and I also put up a picture of Sioxsie on my altar, and I just recently ordered a Sioxsie candle....I want my alter to be about empowered women who marched to the beat of their own drums and were misunderstood by society!

Cooking. Absolutely cooking, from sourcing ingredients locally and speaking to growers, soaking, kneading… making food for my family or just myself, it’s sacred to me. To the casual observer I’m just chopping, but I focus and witch when I prepare food. From a child I have never cooked angry. It has always been spiritual to me, whether an elaborate recipe followed or a throw-together meal. Xx

The guitar solo at the end of the track Parabola by Tool gets in my bones, mmm... that sound (very distinct from the rest of the track; I also really like that part of the video that goes with the solo). The things that make me feel witchy comes in snippets of other things. I pluck what I need and want.

Love this ❤ each person I’ve known who has died I handle it so differently as a witch. Sometimes it’s been deep ritual to support family, others it’s been this massive wave of shadow work that now I can’t ignore, the biggest loss left me in such a whirlwind. It’s approaching two years and it still feels like 6 months ago.

I thought I was tapping into my inner child (and I did), but I kept putting these weird interesting objects on or around my alter. I found this huge geometry globe for kids. Starts off as a crunchy ball and then expands into this freakin awesome stick globe. I hung it above my alter and enjoyed just watching it move, slowly turn, sway a little. Thanks for that memory!!!! I am always amazed at the effect your videos have on me. I declared myself to be a Witch maybe 6 to 9 months ago. I have not done a whole lot yet in the way of spells or rituals. I have done some, and I feel like I've not had any energy to put toward anything except keeping myself alive and keeping my job so I can keep myself alive. The thought that I can RECEIVE energy has never crossed my mind. Your thoughts on making anything you want be your symbol for the Divine or sacred text, etc. really have my thoughts sparking new ideas left and right. I have been living in a gray area without even realizing it. I've lived in survival mode for so long I've forgotten the joys in life, like music and watching the sky and the clouds. I feel like a dam has broken and there's a flood of color and vibrancy returning to me. I'm going to find a notebook and start writing everything flowing into my mind after listening to this! Your words performed CPR on my soul. Thank you for sharing yourself and your words. I am overwhelmed. 💖🥲
