Great video as usual! I too was having HP faults caused by warm water and tiny contact lens sized jellies that would slowly restrict the flow to my individual MarineAir pumps. To address this issue on the Chesapeake I have installed 3-way valves on the incoming side of the now upsized strainer and switched to a single 1000 gph pump with a relay to control the pump
. That seems to have solved the problem and I can flush and or prime the system that feeds 3 units with fresh water regularly and do a vinegar flush overnight to kill marine growth. It also makes winterization a snap.

Thank you for the comment. Great idea. It's too bad TH-cam doesn't allow commenters to upload pictures. I'd love to see what you did.

I’m going through similar challenges, single pump feeds 5 A/C units. Only the master had the HPF. First back washed all lines with fresh water, lots of slit, algae & mud. Fixed the HPF, but still less than optimal out flow. Next hit all with barnacle buster, a couple of shells, no smoking gun. Outflow unchanged. All efforts have been the hoses north of the pump! And your last vid reminded me of that, so that’s next.

Thank you for your comment. Sounds like you have a great handle on the process. Good luck with the next step.

As always, nice informative video, What do you think caused the dirt in the lines?

Thank you for your question. We have had a crazy amount of mullet fish in the marina over the last month or so. I mean several groups numbering in the 100's. I think they stirred up the bottom and caused some of the mud to be suspended in the water column. This made it into our strainers. I think!

Strange that mud would get into the system. Did you hit bottom at some point?

Thank you for your question. No, we are sitting in the marina and have more than 8 feet below us. We have had a crazy amount of mullet fish in the marina over the last month or so. I mean several groups numbering in the 100's. I think they stirred up the bottom and caused some of the mud to be suspended in the water column.

    What year is your Nordhaven?

Thank you for your question. Chicory was built in 1989 - Hull number 6, which was the last one made in 1989, but sold in 1990.
