I could've gone into more detail but I didn't want to bore you guys so hopefully my usage of "neat" and "alright" got the point across on some of them Also tbh... feel like most of A-tier is def S-tier
You put an MCreator Mod at S tier. MCreator is garbage and you want to avoid having 100s of MCreator mods in your modpack, however I will say that Born in Chaos is definitely needed in a 1.20.1 modpack since there are barely any mods that add new mobs in that version that add new enemies except for Grimoire of Gaia. Should be A tier for using a program known for having unoptimized code.
Imagine making a mob whose AI is so bad that you have to make it able to break blocks and instakill to make it even remotely threatening, that's not scary, that's just artificial difficulty. I wanna bet the creator probably saw all those clips of people clowning on the man from the fog with boats and blocks and just threw a fit.
lmao kinda true but i do think the creator did a better job with the knocker, i've played a bit and it doesn't suffer nearly as much problems as the dweller shit imo
@@WatersOfNazareth it use to be good. it use to be just a really good ambient mod, it used to just watch you and if you made the mistake of looking at it, it would just chase you with no block breaking.
born in chaos is honestly everything horror mods should be, it's also a really good mod in general, lots of enemis that won't destroy your world for looking at their general direction, lots of cool-looking gear, and quite a few cool blocks to decorate with. every time i make a modpack i always feel the urge to add it in.
I adore it as well. It feels more like an additive, aesthetic horror mod that just expands the world in a way that still fits the game. Ever since discovering it I end up adding it to my world, it's just so well made. The Nightmare Stalker is arguably unbalanced but it's far better then dwellers, I like that it keeps me on my toes during nighttime. well, I don't _like_ being taken off guard lmao, but it's engaging; it acts as an actual ambush predator with a fear factor which is neat
Alex Mobs/Farmers Delight more than deserves their top spot. Those two were so captivating that I put together a whole modpack around them and started playing modded Minecraft again. Big ups.
@@rexyjp1237i know this is an old comment but i gotta say you travelled to 3 really rare caves that are thousands of blocks away from eachother and killed 2 pretty strong bosses a couple of times before making a house? honestly a you problem
@@araz1204 i just lived in a village for a while, not even inside of s house but just outside and when i ended up building a house i wanted to recreate jurassic park. I also build a forsaken farm at the same time i was building a house.
If i remember correctly you don't really have to install the "Bad Mobs" mod in order to remove mobs you dislike, you can toggle spawns in world generation game rules.
had no idea, cool to know. although i'd say bad mobs still is neat sometimes to just get rid of stuff if you make multiple worlds/share with friends config modpacks and what not i guess
Bad Mobs is useful for determining the vibe in modpacks imo. Can easily make it feel more chilled out by removing some hostile mobs, or make it feel more desolate by removing some peaceful and neutral mobs. Good for removing an annoying mob from a great mod too, when teamed with a mod like Crafting Tweaks to fix any recipes related to said mob. Sorry for the ramble haha, I've been just figuring this stuff out for my own pack lately, so I'm passionate :)
Hello, Neko here, creator of Enemy Expansion 👋I designed Enemy Expansion with the goal of increasing variety and difficulty in enemy combat encounters for the early and late game, since I got horrendously bored of fighting the same mobs in the same way over and over again. If you have any _specific_ criticisms of what makes certain mobs unfun to fight, I'd be interested in hearing them, since you didn't really mention what exactly makes the mobs annoying other than that they're 'stronger' than the vanilla mobs. What don't you like about Vampires? They're my personal favourite. The main thing I'm getting from your ranking here is that you generally don't seem to enjoy stronger enemies in of themselves without them acting as points of loot? If that's the case, I'd suggest using datapacks to change that to your liking - In my own Resurvival modpack, I make it so only Intruders drop Creeper Spores needed to make the Griefer Armour from Savage and Ravage, explosive-resistant armour. If you outright don't enjoy a mob though, I'd say use Bad Mobs to completely disable their spawning, or something like In Control! or Mobs Properties Randomness to disable/change their functionality. Additionally, I also worked with LudoCrypt to make Advancement-Based Spawning to prevent stronger mobs from spawning in the early-game, if that interests you. (It's also featured in Resurvival.) Both mods can be found on our CurseForge page. Slapping a load of mods into a modpack and all expecting them to be designed around the same set of player expectations and wants is just a recipe for disaster. You as a player have a **lot** of power to make what you might consider a mediocre mod into one that you could greatly enjoy - One that does meet your personal expectations. You just have to put a little work in on your end!
Farmers Delight tip bc I saw you weren't doing this: If you place rope above the tomato plants, they'll climb up it and grow up to 3 blocks tall. This really helps if you tend to make foods that use tomatoes as you basically triple your yield! Plus, if you have a mod like "Diet" installed then you'll be able to make Sinigang (a cheap food that increases all food groups) way easier :D
Elemental Creepers is a very old mod that has made a resurgence with the creator coming back after a 12 YEAR dry spell, and updating it for new editions. It’s called Elemental Creepers OG. If you want interesting creepers, it’s your jam. Though the creepers do tend to be brutal in some ways, but they’re really creative. You’ve got a creeper that creates like 20 different 1HP 0 damage illusions of itself, and you gotta find the real thing to kill it. You’ve got one that turns the environment in its blast radius upside down. So if you decided you wanted your small house to be upside down, you’ve got it lol. I believe you can also make specialty TNT from them too, based on their original powers.
since you fw born in chaos so hard i feel like you'd enjoy the mod creator's other enemy mod. it's called Royal Variations; it's way smaller than born in chaos cos it only adds 3 enemies, but it adds cool miniboss versions of the vanilla zombie, skeleton, and creeper
Imo Born in Chaos is the perfect mix between a combat challenge mod and a horror mod. Like there are some genuinely terrifying mobs in it, but you have a fighting chance against them with decent gear. The Lifestealer is arguably the scariest mob in the mod, rivalled only by the Nightmare Stalker and the Glutton Fish
13:26 [big comment oof] Herobrine in from the fog actually has a few different things he can do to mess with you, but from what i have seen it's either very rare for him to do anything else besides just trying to spook ya or it's bugged, but from what i can remember [and experienced] he can place signs around you if you remain in a area long enough, these signs usually have creepy messages on them [this would most likely happen while you are at your base doing stuff] he can replace existing torches that were placed by you with redstone torches, he can also crash your game randomly however this is turned off in the config by default, he can randomly place food items that were renamed to be something suspicious [eating the item will give you a negative effect, so far from what have seen it's always poison] and finally the most hilarious, he can randomly start fires near where your spawnpoint is located [the idea behind this is that he is trying to burn your house down, however again this is probably disabled by default, but the creator of the mod might have changed that so idk] the mod itself also adds a few structures that can spawn as well, in addition if you have any tamed wolves, they will growl or whine whenever herobrine is near
I personally love Beware the Rain. I think its one of the best horror mods out there in terms of how well it meshes with Minecraft's mechanics. Instead of being some bs enemy that just finds its way to you no matter what, it gives you a fair warning when one of them spawn near you, and you have a solid few seconds to run inside your house, or dig yourself a little tunnel to wait it out in. On the other hand, it still succeeds at being scary even though escaping from it is usually trivial, because its terrifying when it spawns and you realize you're out in the open with no shovel or blocks to protect yourself with. Another thing this mod has going for it is how rarely it attacks. It always feels scary because you usually forget its even installed by the time it comes back, rather than being some annoying constant threat which never leaves you alone. The only issue I have with it is that some of the mobs seem to have hitboxes that are sorta too big? its like they can kill you through walls if you're up against a wall and they're right outside your house on the other side of said wall. This might not even be intended though, and could be fixed in later updates.
Theres another guy that made a horror mod tierlist and the ones that overlap with this one he ranked exactly the other way around (apparently he liked loud boring and annoying mobs) and i find it so funny.
I've been really enjoying exploring with the Relics mod and it's compatibility add ons, some things are a bit too common, but I love that you have to use them a bunch so they level up. Very well designed interfaces and fun abilities too
If you're looking for a more balance-friendly mod that makes pets respawnable I recommend taking a look at Respawnable Pets. It's being developed only for fabric however it works flawlessly with sinytra, modded pets are of course supported also.
Hmmm. Here's my thoughts on it. - [Man from the Fog] Mod Makers need to step away from just making a entity which appears anywhere, at any time, and rolls a dice about attacking you as some near-unstoppable inescapable force. - [ParCool] Parcool's alright to me, but oh god I hate jumping off walls when I wasn't even intending to. - [More Mob Variants] I never had much issue with the other zombie skins in other mods which're the same. But if they had to be different, maybe just an overall change to medieval styles? - [From The Fog] From The Fog isn't action packed, but updates.. whenever they ever come out.. should make him interact a little more suddenly with the player. You can still go into the command-oriented configuration and make sure that all settings are switched on. Also, if you're running it as a datapack you MUST load it in WHILE MAKING THE WORLD. This'll allow the world to generate those strange herobrine-related things. I've seen things like the tunnels with redstones, empty pyramids, and there's some more. Definitely don't use it if you're expecting a boss fight from Herobrine. The best you'd get is End of Herobrine, and I personally don't think that mod is much good. Herobrine has no tape recorder last I remember. You're thinking of that one "semi-arg" mod that's on Forge I believe? I think made by Ebalia? You can apparently reply to his signs (or just make them Idk), but I think it might be keywords like an insult to Herobrine that triggers reactions. Like "I'm not scared of you". - [Farmer's Delight] I only ever get troubles with food when I'm running multiple survival-difficulty mods such as Nutrition and Thirst was Taken. The former makes it so you have to watch what /kinds/ of food you consume. Too little or too much of certain food types? You may get debuffed! But, do good and you get a buff apparently? The latter makes it so you have to fill your thirst before you can saturate-regen. It makes instant health potions important indirectly. - [Sophisticated Backpacks] The backpacks.. Those feel busted. But, I speak as somebody who builds a base and outposts. Instead, I use Bag of Holding. No upgrades besides tier of Bundle. With the mods you run at a time I guess it's not that bad. - [Brutal Bosses] I read it up before and I was like "Ehh.." -- On its own, its' not much. - [Creeper Overhaul] I like them, but I wish the ones who attack certain mobs would also get attacked first. I've seen Strays get swarmed who just watch till they're hit. - [Enderman Overhaul] Never tried it, but I kind of have a bias to having a spooky desolate look that the default has. We need mods that expand on this for Endermen and make them out to be the spooky thing that their inspiration was about. - [Domestication Innovation] I see the appeal behind it. I wondered about using it, dunno. There was another mod which makes it so [if] your pet dies (I think they can get downed too), you can revive them as an undead variant or try to get them back as a living creature again. - [Paraglider] If it's too powerful, I'd suggest trying Wood Elytra. It loses durability varying on height as you use it. Probably less controllable[?] - I still have to try it. If you want extra Copper uses, definitely look up things which gives you copper tools and armor. There's one that applies relevance to oxidation.
I'm always confused with Minecraft horror mods because, in theory, they absolutely should be smash hits. A mob that sprints at you and then instakills you? Well, that sounds like every horror game people love. The nun massacre was very beloved, and the whole game was that. But for some reason, when it comes to Minecraft, people just need a way to fight back, which I personally think defeats the whole point of horror. I think Minecraft is a game where horror just inherently fails unless you strip away the Minecraft and just make an adventure map.
It’s because something running at you and instantly killing you just gets in the way of Minecraft itself. They’re just opposing ideas. It’s now just Minecraft but you randomly get your left wall destroyed and then die every once in a while.
I was going to type a whole paragraph trying to explain why people don’t like the “one-shot” aspect about it and then I remembered the warden exists in vanilla MC. I think it’s because by the time the dweller appears they don’t get enough time to run away and live from the encounter?
I think for a lot of them it comes down to how avoidable they are. The Warden is definitely as dangerous as most of the horror mobs people have been making, but avoiding it isn't terribly difficult - and you know what you're in for if you go to an ancient city. Beware the Rain tries to make use of this, since when it rains is the only time it spawns anything, but I feel that idea falls apart when their mobs start spawning in the nether. It is really hard to tell if its raining when you're in the nether. Personally, my favorite horror mob is the Knocker, who is notably less dangerous than a lot of other horror mobs. I don't think he interferes with the game nearly as much as other horror mobs, and while he can kill you, he is very easy to avoid.
The issue is in Minecraft there is combat, this is basically the same issue that comes up in Copper discussions. It isn't just a building game, it isn't just a exploration game, it isn't just a horror game. There are multiple aspects and when you neglect them people complain because Minecraft isn't just one thing. To go back to the copper point, chain mail would benefit from proper crafting, copper armor was a real thing, and copper tools would provide an alternative to stone or possibly iron for longer. It is a logical conclusion. If it lacks that logical conclusion people speak out.
3:24 you can prevent maggots from spawning simply by doing /gamerule maggotappearance off or something like that, however it might not work as i can't remember if it actually works or not, but it's intended to disable the spawns of corpse maggots [at least from spawning when a zombie mob is slain] a better way to do it is to go into the generation settings and disable maggots from spawning there, at the very least it prevents them from spawning when you kill a zombie type mob [i say that because it's only zombies that drop them aside from bloody gadflies]
Please make more Complete mod tierlists, I love these a lot. If you could, consider making tier lists for mob catagories, like magic, tech, etc. Good stuff!
I'd been wondering about some of the mods you use, But didn't know how to ask. Ever since I saw you using the Paraglider it's a definite must for my worlds! Even if it's indeed OP (Especially paired with a teleportation spell from Iron's Spells and Spellbooks).
only thing i dislike about domestication Innovation is how it floods the enchantments pool, like time you enchant a book you getting at least one of them
beware the rain is f tier for me for similar reason it's jumpscare is global so when it spawn on the friend that is far away we keep getting jumpscared anyway and it was very annoying
I think you should check the "In Control" mod, it really helps to remove all mobs you don't like from a mod. In my case, we removed phantoms, maggots, chonky creepers and spiders for my arachnophobic friends and we had so much more funs since. It asks a bit of configuration but it's a really cool addition to a modpack
You should try manic! It a horror mod that not only fits style of minecraft, but also a lot of utility and rituals. The most underated horor mod to be honest, sad that only now people start noticing it
Dude, you should add the terramity mod to the pack, it recently just got a datapack that gives it compatibility with better combat, it's got some overpowered stuff that's really fun to mess with along with really interesting bosses, did i mention guns?
You should really try out spartan swords / shields if you haven't already, it got updated to 1.20.1 not too far back and its a must have for my modpacks
What impressed me the most from born in chaos is that its made using mcreator which is known for making easy mods without having as much quality as the big mods
Born in chaos is goated Not only it adds so much more enemy variants They also fit in a horror theme, the nightmare stalkers made me squeak like a toy when on half a heart sneaking on a 1 block wide bridge on top of lava The gear is also very good, of course very well made models and animation The pumpkin head² boss is crazy OP and took me some time fighting The drop is powerful
I think Born in Chaos is one of the best mobs mod to add in imo from what i've seen so far from a couple of mods. Mowzie's Mobs while pretty nice couple of bosses is kinda lackluster in content and can be easily forgotten while playing imo. Im not ranking them as comparisons but standalone to what they deliver
@@troubled_boys You could say the same for Born in Chaos, the only thing that stands out is Lord Pumpkinhead and even he is lacklustre compared to Mowzie Bosses
for me sophisticated backpacks is a bit too op, but it can be very good in more chill modpacks. I personally use beans backpacks in my modpacks it's more realistic and feels better to use
Tbh i would have added domestication innovation in s but i understand the op problem. I had it combined with alex caves and my shadow hands trex literally eviscerated the wither.
Cataclysm does make sense being hard to find because it puts you on a bigger adventure and even just 1 mod It makes Minecraft so much better Ofc the items are very powerful WHICH is WHY they're very difficult to get and requires actually dedication, strategy, grinding and SKILL
If cave endermen attacks it's because some of the new endermen from Overhaul are aggressive by default which is the case of the cave, soulsand, ender and end island ones.
i think sophisticated backpacks is a prime example of a mod that can be really overpowered, it completely replaces shulker boxes, regular storage like chests and even the need for a house or base. dont get me wrong backpacks are hard to balance but having an backpack that can have stack upgrades AND hold more the 2 double chests combined is a little much
I wasn't sure about Born in Chaos at first, but after playing with it for a couple months I've been loving it. The Bloodborne and PvZ inspiration is as charming as the references in mods like Alex's Mobs.
Cataclysm is so weird to me because it's balanced for endgame but if you're in endgame in a modpack you steamroll things... it's just... weird. And simply swords has a lot of cool unique weapons you can only find in chests
You should check the weapon master mod out (not the one that displays weapon from your hotbar in 3rd Person but another with the same name). It allows you to make custom weapons that can level up and get special abilities.
Tip for enemy expantion shit creepers: I always downgrade the mod to the version where was troll statue, since they removed it they started adding this stuff like fat creepers. You can see when they removed it in changelogs For me, enemy expansion adds just like few new monsters and born in chaos adds more like boss and dungeon stuff Also the meature is so cuteeee But ye, they should add more stuff cuz theres literally nothing good you can get from the mobs From the fog is just a mod for stalking herobrine, but if you want herobrine that can build and possess mobs you should use End of Herobrine. Its good to have both mods installed so it can stalk and do other stuff too. There is also progression trough the mod and boss fight Farmers delight is also great for the dozens of addons it has, you can literally eat soup from guardian instead of cauldron xD "I hate enemies that are super hard to kill and it's like oh I got nothing" literally talking about bound one from scorched bronze guns. Bound one is strongest mob from the mod, no one knows what is it supposed to be like bro its just white gigachad human with hammer like hand and half-second head in his chest and it literally doesnt even drop any xp not even items
I'm not sure if you know this, but you can increse stamina in paraglider mod by orbs you get from breaking spawners. But the thing I dislike about paraglider mod is that you can use the same orbs to also increase your number of hearts, which feels so unfair to me. I understand that mod's creator tried to make it look like from Zelda games, but it minecraft too easy because of it. I don't use that mechanic, but it still feels weird to have as an option.
I now have new mods to try. Also, when you get a small army of Meachers, they wreak havoc, not sure about in boss battles, but when just going around the world with mini-bosses and stuff, they are super helpful and their small hitbox means you're less likely to accidentally hit them. Also, I'm now realizing that you don't have Mutant Monsters in you're modpack and that needs to happen.
You should try playing the mod pack "The Chocolate Pack" its semi slow but fucking chalk full of progression and cool ass mobs/structures/boss fights. Super enjoyable
Nah you’re not crazy. I have no nostalgic connection to it at all and I still think it deserves A or maybe even S. The bosses are very well designed and animated. Just in general in video games it’s a lot harder to make good easy bosses than hard ones, and Mowzie’s Mobs nails that earlyish midgame difficulty perfectly imo
i understand hating born in chaos but still giving it s. i despise that mod, but it's super well made and i still enjoy it. my main issue is that it tends to give a lot of junk items when it isn't the center of a modpack, but it's still great.
I uninstalled Goblin Trader only bc his trades seemed way too OP. Also Born in Chaos I like since it’s the only enemy variety mod of its caliber, I just wish it added more than undead mobs. It starts to feel less vanilla than I would like. It makes the nighttime actually terrifying even into the endgame though which I appreciate.
Born in chaos just kinda annoyed me with the invincible ghost that can spawn at night. I had my base in a heavily wooded area so whenever they spawned it'd take forever for them to disappear in daylight since there wasn't any under the trees.
Hey andy you should try apotheosis. its balanced for all states of the game and I think it's compatible with simply swords and other structure mods. Im not sure what versions it maxes out on tho. Overall its pretty nice
I remember getting recommended the video for the guy making Enemy Expansion and just thinking “So he’s responsible.” I hate that mod, every mob it adds makes the game worse. It’s also just so poorly made
It’s your opinion, so I can’t actually say you’re wrong; but any tier list that does not put Beware The Rain at the absolute bottom of the list in a tier of its own is borderline factually wrong in my opinion. The man from the fog is annoying at worst, I’ve played with him in a very obnoxious mod pack and he’s very easy to play against. He can break a few blocks, perhaps the config in my pack made him easier because he didn’t break dirt or stone, but he does not hit that hard and is at least killable. You can also tell when he is coming far far far in advance pretty much always, and I learned that from experience not from reading the mod page. I actually didn’t know the names of any of these mods when I started it. Beware the rains mobs are atrocious, and The Vapor is easily the worst mob I have ever had the displeasure of having in a modpack(especially the ridiculous pack I had where it was configured to literally always be raining 100% of the time). First off, he’s invulnerable, he flies, he moves faster than your base running speed, he slows you when he spawns, he makes an incredibly annoying screamer when he’s spawned in, he has longer reach/attack range than a sword, doesn’t take knockback, and like every other mob in that ridiculous mod, he literally cheats because he can hit you through 1-2 thick solid blocks. That whole hitting you through blocks thing is already bad enough, but he doesn’t do damage, he sets your health to 0 directly on hit.The mobs also don’t only spawn in the rain, they spawn when it’s raining, which is not the same thing. If you’re in a desert or any other dry biome where you can’t tell when it’s raining, or the nether or any other dimension where it doesn’t rain? There’s no counter play because you can’t even anticipate they’re coming due to the rain not actually happening. So it’s not “Beware the Rain” it’s “beware places where you can’t tell if it’s raining, or even better, don’t play the game”. I tried to like that mod, very very hard, I made a ton of changes to the pack to accommodate it and make it playable, including removing the mod that controls the weather so it isn’t always raining. I love the IDEA of a mod that gives you a reason to stay out of the rain, but the execution is the worst I have ever experienced. In my case, a mob with no counter play was a total dealbreaker because I was playing on hardcore, because imo if death is a mild inconvenience at worst there’s no teeth to a horror mod at all. Perhaps if you’re okay with having a random dice roll that just deletes your healthbar for no reason with no counter play, beware the rain is okay, but then there should be no reason to dislike the man from the fog either because compared to those total cheaters, he’s easy mode. It was the hardest removal from the pack I had, but a cool idea executed that abysmally doesn’t deserve points for being a cool idea, it deserves less for ruining such a good idea imo.
Really good critism and read. I think you have a good point on it and what you say is true but, I think for me, Man from the Fog is just boring unoriginal dweller mod that has nothing that really sets it apart from any other dweller mod. Like yeah maybe a few things but nothing really to even note besides i guess the fog effect. Beware the Rain from what I can tell at least is original enough and has different mobs. I do fully agree about the damage thing and being invincible, that's boring and lazy but again its still better than most horror slop. I did give it a C though not very high lol
I think I found what my preffered "horror" in minecraft is, and that isn't just bad spooky mobs being really scary and killing you, it's the game being wrong. I'm watching one guy playing through corrupted minecraft and it's just the perfect feeling, the game is just wrong, that's how it should be. A mod that just makes you feel uneased as you play it. Like you're playing a game that looks like minecraft but feels off
The man from the fog had a good concept, but past 1.1 update it went in really strange direction. If you ever would want to play this mod, 1.1 version is a way to go.
aw come on, enemy expansion is cool, I like it, it adds more variety. also bigger badder mobs don't have to have better reward, Minecraft isn't an RPG, it's a survival sandbox, when you encounter these mobs, it's usually not a choice, they are an obstacle, the goal isn't to kill the mobs, the goal is to survive the mobs, their drops are useful sure, but they are an obstacle rather than something you're supposed to go out of your way to fight that's Minecraft in general, you're supposed to (or at least used to) try to avoid mobs, usually setting up a mob farm for their drops. it seems a big criticism for mods that add mobs is their loot, it's not about the loot, it's about the difficulty, they are obstacles, you're better off avoiding them, but sometimes you can't if mob drops were all really good then, then eventually you'd get too powerful and the mobs aren't challenging anymore (that's why Minecraft is boring now btw, it's not a lack of progression, there is too much progression in Minecraft, it was almost perfect scaling in beta 1.7.3 before enchantments, netherite, sprinting, it was a little better in beta 1.2 before beds were added too) like you hate the mod because "boo hoo, they kill me" man from the fog, understandable, that mod is shit, but it's not because it's got tons of health and 1 shots you, it's just a lazily designed mob that's supposed to be scary but really isn't and is just kind of annoying and stupid. it wouldn't be improved if you could kill it and it drops something, that would make it less scary, if you can kill it, it's not scary, and the mmod is designed to be scary. the issue is it's only scary because of predator vs prey mind set, it's fight of flight kind of fear which is kind of cheap and very quickly starts to get boring when you keep dying to it again and again. it's just not creepy. you need to think about what the mod is trying to do, not what you want it to do if I complained that "from the fog" was a bad herobrine mod because herobrine didn't attack you or kill you or possess mobs like the other herobrine mod, then I'd be stupid because it's not trying to do that, it's trying to be lore accurate to the original stories. would I like herobrine to grief my world a little or attack me in some way (maybe with traps or teleporting me to a creepy dungeon of some kind) on a rare occasion? sure, but it's subjective, some people just want the presence of herobrine and that's enough, personally I want more malevolence but that's not what that specific mod is trying to do you want a mod with powerful enemies you're supposed to kill and get epic items from, look for mods that are clearly trying to do that
I appreciate the viewpoint you have to offer, I think you do have a point about survival and not just rewards. I don't think enemy expansion is bad by any means but it's def something that feels more frustrating and an inconvenience imo personally. I did add it to another modpack I am doing though because I do want to give it another try. Also I dislike the man from the fog way more than just the reasons I listed, I've made a video about dwellers in general and man from the fog is the absolute worst of it all
You should try better mob combat it makes for funny situations if combined with other mods for example with epic knigh you migh get jumped by crusaders zombie that hit hard
Lol reading the modpage and seeing one small thing you didn't know hardly means something. I did a playthrough with these mods, not just first impressions.
I could've gone into more detail but I didn't want to bore you guys so hopefully my usage of "neat" and "alright" got the point across on some of them
Also tbh... feel like most of A-tier is def S-tier

It is just kind of a poorly made MCreator mod, it was made more for content instead of being made to be good
@@WatersOfNazareth it use to be good. it use to be just a really good ambient mod, it used to just watch you and if you made the mistake of looking at it, it would just chase you with no block breaking.
born in chaos is honestly everything horror mods should be, it's also a really good mod in general, lots of enemis that won't destroy your world for looking at their general direction, lots of cool-looking gear, and quite a few cool blocks to decorate with. every time i make a modpack i always feel the urge to add it in.
Sadly it’s MCreator
So what? Ngl i didnt even know its from mc creator@@stolyartoad8640
One problem. It’s not even remotely scary. Real horror mods are ones like arthropod phobia expansion and the anomaly

Alex Mobs/Farmers Delight more than deserves their top spot. Those two were so captivating that I put together a whole modpack around them and started playing modded Minecraft again. Big ups.

@@troubled_boys
Agreed, it can get tedious when making new worlds constantly, it also helps with other mods that lack the option.

I remember when the goblin trader almost gave me a heart attack while I was mining alone by sneaking up on me.
Those were the days
Putting Paraglider in A-Tier for being too strong but putting Sophisticated Backpacks in S-Tier is wild.
I Feel like having access to an entire extra row of hearts is more powerful than not having to deposit items at your base after every dungeon.
The backpacks may be simple, but hell of game changers.
I always learn about mods before installing them. Always figured that was the norm to some degree
It depends on some, i tried a bigger modpack to try out multiple mods.
since you fw born in chaos so hard i feel like you'd enjoy the mod creator's other enemy mod. it's called Royal Variations; it's way smaller than born in chaos cos it only adds 3 enemies, but it adds cool miniboss versions of the vanilla zombie, skeleton, and creeper
Thanks! I think someone brought this up recently to me, def gonna save for a future modpack
Had me at "Fellas."
Ngl bro sounded like Dr Doof
I remember back in the olden days, when Mowzies mobs was the coolest kid in the block and Twilight forest was still a relevant and interesting mod.
Very well designed interfaces and fun abilities too
Arachnophobic expansion Is just a mod I'll never play since I'm horrified of spiders and large insects
fun fact: born in chaos and man from the fog both were made in mccreator
Quite hilarious that Born In Chaos is a masterpiece and Man From The Fog is absolute garbage
If you're looking for a more balance-friendly mod that makes pets respawnable I recommend taking a look at Respawnable Pets. It's being developed only for fabric however it works flawlessly with sinytra, modded pets are of course supported also.
Hmmm. Here's my thoughts on it.
- [Man from the Fog]
Mod Makers need to step away from just making a entity which appears anywhere, at any time, and rolls a dice about attacking you as some near-unstoppable inescapable force.
- [ParCool]
Parcool's alright to me, but oh god I hate jumping off walls when I wasn't even intending to.
- [More Mob Variants]
I never had much issue with the other zombie skins in other mods which're the same. But if they had to be different, maybe just an overall change to medieval styles?
- [From The Fog]
From The Fog isn't action packed, but updates.. whenever they ever come out.. should make him interact a little more suddenly with the player.
- [Farmer's Delight]
I only ever get troubles with food when I'm running multiple survival-difficulty mods such as Nutrition and Thirst was Taken. The former makes it so you have to watch what /kinds/ of food you consume. Too little or too much of certain food types? You may get debuffed! But, do good and you get a buff apparently? The latter makes it so you have to fill your thirst before you can saturate-regen. It makes instant health potions important indirectly.
- [Sophisticated Backpacks]
The backpacks.. Those feel busted. But, I speak as somebody who builds a base and outposts. Instead, I use Bag of Holding. No upgrades besides tier of Bundle. With the mods you run at a time I guess it's not that bad.
- [Brutal Bosses]
I read it up before and I was like "Ehh.." -- On its own, its' not much.
- [Creeper Overhaul]
I like them, but I wish the ones who attack certain mobs would also get attacked first. I've seen Strays get swarmed who just watch till they're hit.
- [Enderman Overhaul]
Never tried it, but I kind of have a bias to having a spooky desolate look that the default has. We need mods that expand on this for Endermen and make them out to be the spooky thing that their inspiration was about.
- [Domestication Innovation]
I see the appeal behind it. I wondered about using it, dunno. There was another mod which makes it so [if] your pet dies (I think they can get downed too), you can revive them as an undead variant or try to get them back as a living creature again.
- [Paraglider]
If it's too powerful, I'd suggest trying Wood Elytra.
@@Ellispdelosreyes
The warden has mechanics that make it interesting though, having to stay quiet builds up tension.
Can we have an update on Dongers ? Haven't seen that fella in a while.

Cataclysm does make sense being hard to find because it puts you on a bigger adventure and even just 1 mod

Its funny how people analyze these based on personal tastes or preferences without looking at them overall.
That’s like… literally the point of making a tier list. It’s a fun and visual way to give your thoughts on the presented things.

Tip for enemy expantion shit creepers: I always downgrade the mod to the version where was troll statue, since they removed it they started adding this stuff like fat creepers. You can see when they removed it in changelogs
For me, enemy expansion adds just like few new monsters and born in chaos adds more like boss and dungeon stuff
Also the meature is so cuteeee
But ye, they should add more stuff cuz theres literally nothing good you can get from the mobs
From the fog is just a mod for stalking herobrine, but if you want herobrine that can build and possess mobs you should use End of Herobrine. Its good to have both mods installed so it can stalk and do other stuff too. There is also progression trough the mod and boss fight
Farmers delight is also great for the dozens of addons it has, you can literally eat soup from guardian instead of cauldron xD
"I hate enemies that are super hard to kill and it's like oh I got nothing" literally talking about bound one from scorched bronze guns.
Also, I'm now realizing that you don't have Mutant Monsters in you're modpack and that needs to happen.
naah putting arphex and enemy expansion on those tiers is crazy, but i respect that anyways
You should try playing the mod pack "The Chocolate Pack" its semi slow but fucking chalk full of progression and cool ass mobs/structures/boss fights. Super enjoyable
It has the movement mod too. Absolutely beautiful.
Mowsies mobs B tier??? Wth idk if I just like it because of the good ol days or what but I think its more of an A.

Not sure how familiar you are magic mods but I’d recommend giving Goety a try, it doesn’t get enough recognition for how well made it is
Great video!

Encountered the opp
You should start using more of MAGIC!! (irons spells and spellbooks)
Mod is peak because of pillar chase 2 (No clue the mod looks dookie)
I think I found what my preffered "horror" in minecraft is, and that isn't just bad spooky mobs being really scary and killing you, it's the game being wrong. I'm watching one guy playing through corrupted minecraft and it's just the perfect feeling, the game is just wrong, that's how it should be. A mod that just makes you feel uneased as you play it. Like you're playing a game that looks like minecraft but feels off
HES SPEAKING STRAIGHT FACTS HAS ANDY GAINED INTELLIGENCE OVER MASS?
The man from the fog had a good concept, but past 1.1 update it went in really strange direction. If you ever would want to play this mod, 1.1 version is a way to go.
aw come on, enemy expansion is cool, I like it, it adds more variety. also bigger badder mobs don't have to have better reward, Minecraft isn't an RPG, it's a survival sandbox, when you encounter these mobs, it's usually not a choice, they are an obstacle, the goal isn't to kill the mobs, the goal is to survive the mobs, their drops are useful sure, but they are an obstacle rather than something you're supposed to go out of your way to fight
that's Minecraft in general, you're supposed to (or at least used to) try to avoid mobs, usually setting up a mob farm for their drops.
it seems a big criticism for mods that add mobs is their loot, it's not about the loot, it's about the difficulty, they are obstacles, you're better off avoiding them, but sometimes you can't
if mob drops were all really good then, then eventually you'd get too powerful and the mobs aren't challenging anymore (that's why Minecraft is boring now btw, it's not a lack of progression, there is too much progression in Minecraft, it was almost perfect scaling in beta 1.7.3 before enchantments, netherite, sprinting, it was a little better in beta 1.2 before beds were added too)
like you hate the mod because "boo hoo, they kill me"
man from the fog, understandable, that mod is shit, but it's not because it's got tons of health and 1 shots you, it's just a lazily designed mob that's supposed to be scary but really isn't and is just kind of annoying and stupid. it wouldn't be improved if you could kill it and it drops something, that would make it less scary, if you can kill it, it's not scary, and the mmod is designed to be scary. the issue is it's only scary because of predator vs prey mind set, it's fight of flight kind of fear which is kind of cheap and very quickly starts to get boring when you keep dying to it again and again. it's just not creepy.
you need to think about what the mod is trying to do, not what you want it to do
if I complained that "from the fog" was a bad herobrine mod because herobrine didn't attack you or kill you or possess mobs like the other herobrine mod, then I'd be stupid because it's not trying to do that, it's trying to be lore accurate to the original stories. would I like herobrine to grief my world a little or attack me in some way (maybe with traps or teleporting me to a creepy dungeon of some kind) on a rare occasion? sure, but it's subjective, some people just want the presence of herobrine and that's enough, personally I want more malevolence but that's not what that specific mod is trying to do
you want a mod with powerful enemies you're supposed to kill and get epic items from, look for mods that are clearly trying to do that
I appreciate the viewpoint you have to offer, I think you do have a point about survival and not just rewards. I don't think enemy expansion is bad by any means but it's def something that feels more frustrating and an inconvenience imo personally. I did add it to another modpack I am doing though because I do want to give it another try.
Also I dislike the man from the fog way more than just the reasons I listed, I've made a video about dwellers in general and man from the fog is the absolute worst of it all
My mod will be in one of these videos some day, trust
born in chaos is great but it kinda disabled mob farms because there's a good chance a pumkin lord will spawn and teleport all over the place.
illage and spillage is quite good, there's a port to it for 1.20 called illage and portage, the port is still quite buggy tho
If certain variants for the mob variants mod were configurable so it doesn't conflict with texture packs I have, I'd rank it at A tier
1.20 has too many dweller mods and not enough ore mods imo tbh
lmao true, i wish more ore mods existed or at least i knew better ones. sometimes i just like mining ores for fun without having dumb op ones
@@troubled_boys yeah i havent seen a really good one outside of fabric in ages so i decided to make my own that might exist one day
@@flan4532 hope it works out, good luck. feel free to let me know if it ever becomes public
maybe u like goober
I really like Mythic Metals for this but unfortunately the creator seems very against Forge unfortunately.
You should try better mob combat it makes for funny situations if combined with other mods for example with epic knigh you migh get jumped by crusaders zombie that hit hard
try Tizzou's zombie resource in your pack. Perfect for 100 day playthroughs.
Putting Mowzie's mobs lower than bosses of mass destruction is a crime 💀
i died when bro got killed in 1 hit at 14:27 lol
This are some hot takes
smh i knew goblin trader should be higher
now throw them all in a pack with terrafirmacraft and true darkness
now that's what i call suffering
11:53 did you just said what i think you just said?????????
really good video btw
He said negative guy that sounded like n word 😂
90% of these are "I didn't read the modpage"
Lol reading the modpage and seeing one small thing you didn't know hardly means something. I did a playthrough with these mods, not just first impressions.
I tried a "horror" modpack
Oops, almost all is dwellers and beware the rain-ish mobs (and born in chaos
