It was proposed before and rejected. Both Glasgow clubs are massive, bigger than anything in the championship and most in the PL. As an owner of an English club, would you want a foreign club taking your place at the top table? Of course you wouldnt.

Wrong tactics is what did it for Celtic. Pressing high to impose their own game was a mistake. When Celtic were unable to get the ball back in high positions, they were wide open and outnumbered at the back. That said, I never witnessed a game where ever mistake was punished.

I love Celtic, but realistically, Celtic would at best be mid to bottom level of the EPL. They would rarely, if ever, even qualify for Champions or Europa league if they played in any of the larger international leagues. We have to exist within our means, there's no point in bankrupting the club trying to chase big wins against the biggest teams in Europe. Stay in these competitions as long as possible, enjoy them, make as much money as possible from them, but let's not get ideas above our station. Players like Kasper Schmeichel who was past his best in the EPL five years ago are not what we should be recruiting. Get undervalued players from further afield, and get those countries supporters on board as well, and then sell them at good profits to the EPL and larger European leagues.
Yes, with the finances and squad we have right now we wouldn’t be challenging but still confident we would easily stay in the EPL.
However…the thing your overlooking and many do… is that if we were in the EPL, the squad would change very quickly and our finances would be HUGE. We would soon become a mammoth club challenging within a few years. We would also be extremely investable where as right now we can’t be as the league means investors would never get a return.
Flip it the other way…what would happen if Arsenal would be suddenly transferred to the Scottish premier league. Yes their current squad would walk it BUT that would change very quickly as would lose all their players and would have no investors and money to back them. Simple fact is that Celtic and rangers are massive clubs with global appeal that some in England could only dream of. If we were to get parity with the EPL teams with finance we would be very difficult to stop.

Many don't seem to realise that Celtic would almost certainly be relegated from the Premier League if they were in it. They would probably struggle to make the Championship Playoffs. You cannot expect this 'tartan army' spirit to win football matches against proper teams and nations. It is so cringe every time Celtic or Scotland start hyping themselves up before tournaments.
