I met Sheringham in a petrol station in Brentwood, he never said a word to me when I said hello, he just stood still and stared at me, then when he drove off he stopped his car and stared at me and my Mrs for a while right in front of my car and then drove off. Back in his prime of playing he used to buy clothes from a shop in Cheadle my cousin worked in. One time my cousin commented on how awesome his Ferrari was. Coley offered to take him for a spin but my cousins boss said no he had to work. Coley said if they didn't let him he'd stop buying his designer clothes there. They let him. I met Teddy Sheringham in a cafe. He walked up took 1 of my chips and stuck it in my egg. He then took a balloon off a 5yr old kid and burst it with a fork. Put his hand in the tip jar and stole it then ordered an omelette and sent it back saying he ordered a pizza and then bought an ice cream and put it in the face of a baby in a pram. I’m a spurs fan so Sheringham was one of my favourite players growing up. I can absolutely recall several instances where Sheringham has had a sulk when his number has gone up and he’s getting subbed. Whether he deliberately snubbed Cole or not is open to debate. I’ve met Cole and spoke to him briefly and he was pleasant, it’s interesting that he has the arrogant and moody tag when there are many people who’ll tell you that could easily be applied to Sheringham.

I can only speak from my own experience. I wrote a letter to Teddy Sheringham when I was 16 years old after he left Millwall for Nottingham Forest thanking him for the season he had for Millwall, scoring 41 goals and for probably being the best player I've ever seen at my club. I expected nothing back because I just wanted to tell him. He sent a handwritten letter in reply along with two signed photographs. That meant a lot to me.

I think people need to see these people aren't your friends. To get to the top of any given field, you have to cut throats, they're actors on a stage. In this case it's football. Sheringham is my favourite player, sine the first time I saw him for Millwall, he's not the best, but he's my favourite. I don't care what he's like in his private life, I would hate to have mine scrutinized every 5 mins. I could dislike him immensely as a person, but that's irrelevant, to me. I love Ozzy, as an entertainer, I have never watched one episode of the Osbourne's I don't care what he is as a person. We need to all see this, else you would get disappointed.

It was like he looked past me. He carried on walking and I thought to myself, that was rude. I'm a huge United fan so it was disappointing. It's the second time I've seen Teddy around. The first time he had sunglasses and a snap back cap on indoors whilst he was eating with friends in TGI Friday. I'm sure he's the type of guy who only chats to his mates. He doesn`t mention he didnt speak to Cantona either, and that was because Eric didn`t rate him, the times he set him up and he missed a sitter and Cantona just shook his head as he walked away. I think it would have been the same with Sheringham who was a terrific player. Sad to read the comments about him being an arrogant prick as I rated him highly.
