My dissertation is on domestic Violence. How would I use case studies for the following structure Introduction Methodology Literature Review Discussion/ Analysis Conclusion. Would I keep case study for the analysis section ?
I would suggest (and I teach business, management, engineering): Introduction Methodology Literature Review Presentation of case studies Comparison of case studies (which is analysis). Drawing out the main literature points in each case study. Discussion Conclusions.
hello, if i need to do a multipal case study research in organisations (MSs) what are methodologies? Logically, i dont need to do an interviews or surveys? is documents analysis enough?
My title of the dissertation will be "An evaluation of hedonic model as an effective tool for user experience design. The case study of Mailchimp." Should I still analyse the company case through SWOT or PESTLE, as you have mention in the comments above. It doesn't seems appropriate for me, as I have to focus more on some kind of psychological factors, which are the hedonics. I am really confused of how to build the structure of my dissertation, as my first 3 questions are not in regards with the case study. Should I answer them trough the literature review? 1. What are the characteristics of the emotional web design? 2. How hedonic perceptions in web design (colours, images, typography, etc.) impact on consumers’ emotion? 3. What is the role of aesthetic appearance in the users' experience? 4. How effectively Mailchimp use the hedonic model as a part of their marketing strategy?
My experience is engineering and management topics, so I am limited in my views. Certainly your first three questions can be answered via the literature review. The fourth question looks at your case study. However you can also refer back to the findings of the first three research questions.
Hello. I am doing research paper based on battery cells, lfp (No cobalt), nca nmc, which has more advantages. On my results chapter im doing swot and then mcda which will have ahp for the weights. swot part is clear, and then on mcda I rank the criteria, but now for the ahp, I think I need a case study. For example i can rate the capacity and safety on the mcda part for each chemistry. (cobalt ones have more capacity, but are less safe than lfp) But when it comes to ahp and deciding which would be more important to give them the weights? not sure if I need a case study here. From my perspective, since I don't need a car for long distances and i just had a baby, I would rate safety with a mayor number than capacity. But now, from another persons point of view that travels to work farther, he would rate capacity as more important. I am wondering how to reference this on the ahp chapter.

And secondly, the case studies I am using would be analysing some scenes from different films, describe the sounds and how they're used or made and then I would link the techniques used to some of the work I found in my literature review. Would these be good case studies and the correct way to use them?
A masters title with "Evaluation" is always good. My experience is engineering, and case studies would come from peer reviewed journal articles. Ideally you need some other experts to analyse and review sounds from films, and you can then compare, evaluate, comment.
Follow the direction of your own supervisor. However, the Literature Review is about Knowledge. Case Studies are about the Application of that knowledge in a real situation. I think a separate chapter.
I am writing my dissertation on s76 of the serious crime act and whether the law is fit for purpose, but I am having problems finding case studies and wonder if you can help?
I'm sorry. As an Engineering/Business tutor I do not know what journals you should be looking in - but Journals and Conference Proceedings will be a source that you should be searching.
I always suggest presenting the case studies as facts without discussion or analysis first. Analysis could be by SWOT, PESTLE or similar. Ideally 2 case studies can be compared, so you might not have an analysis chapter - rather a Comparison chapter.
