- So you’ve been set an assignment where you have to analyse a case study…
🍃 How can you pick out the most relevant parts of the case?
🌿 How can you link it with topics you’ve covered on your module?
🍀 How can you make it all flow together to get the highest marks?
Neil outlines the simplicity of case-study analysis, placing particular importance of it being an ‘iterative’ and not linear process. If you're not sure how to get going, or feeling overwhelmed with information - this one is for you!

I have to do a case study analysis in the form of report. Can I use personal pronoun ‘l’ to create argument?
Hi @prachitkatolkar2283! Generally speaking, unless the piece is an explicitly reflective assignment, it is more appropriate to use a more passive voice (e.g. 'this report will suggest that') instead of using personal pronouns. The latter runs the risk of diluting your academic tone, as we are more likely to offer personal opinions rather than pushing ourselves to provide evidence-based academic judgements (which the passive voice naturally encourages). But as ever, do check with the module leader to see their preferences. Good luck with your report!
Any sample you could provide?
