Wow, what a difference a bit of cold temperature makes, if you are finding it hard Dave, I will definitely be struggling. Still a very enjoyable time to be had.
Just a word of thanks, I’ve been collecting bait for a long time now but still enjoy your videos, thanks for all the tips and advice, really useful, best on you tube, merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours.
I fish Bexhill most of the time, I get enough worms when I go pumping lug for a fishing trip off the beach, Have done all my life and I am 66 now but just seeing that worm come out your pump on the sand is still magic.
Hi thank you I just love being on the sand fishing or lugworming it can be hard work some days but it keeps you fit but also seeing the sun rise and fall is great too thanks
Great video again. Pett delivered when many others would not have. Thanks for taking us out on a cold session. Why do pett blowlug not produce a visible blow hole? Thanks 👍
Hi thank you for a great post only ever pumped Hastings Bexhill and Pett I have never come across blow holes like you see in other videos across the country I would love to 1day have a go and see if my way works on the cast instead of using the blow hole 👍😀👍
@@hastingsangler I will have to experiment and try your way next time I am out. I have reasonable success pumping the blow hole, but you never know it may improve my worm pumping. Cheers 👍
When you miss the worm is it you have just missed the gully as to say the worms in… would it be worth another pump at a different angle…. I’m in Bexhill 🤓
Hi i noticed that you commented on how far your bucket was away i have made a trolly with wheels that i pull along with me attatched with some paracord tied to my belt it is a winner especially if you are moving around a lot on the beach have you ever tried anything similar.
Hi yes i tried it and hated it half the reason i leave the bucket behind is to let me know where i started because like you said its easy to keep moving about and some time you might lose a good spot but i can alway go back to get harder in the dark lol
Yes, absolutely mild steel will rust after 1 session i use 8mm 304 rods and use a 8mm thread 1 end and 6mm the othere but you can go both 8mm good luck

@MichaelP-i3m if I was trying it I would try putting the pump midway between the cast and the hole and try different depths wish you good luck👍😀👍
@@hastingsangler That is one direction I have not tried, so sounds like a plan of attack. Thanks Dave & all the best to you.
@@MichaelP-i3m let me know how you get on cheers and good luck
Your vids are really encouraging fella great commentary.🙂👍
Thank you kindly😀
Nice worms. Yeah gets really hard thus time of year. 12 to 15 inch deep we having to put the pump down now
Hi it does get harder as it get colder but is still nice when you get them good luck
@hastingsangler yeah it's good just not in huge numbers just average around 300 atm come January they normally come better to get.
Storm Bert picking up no digging for me for a few days. Those sunny day's are usually the coldest 🥶
Hi Martin too right but still got the coldest months yet to come but just love being on the sand
@@hastingsangler tried my luck this morning not much luck, about 50 worms in 2.5 hrs. So much rain 🌧 digging through surface water but still went 👍
Good watch mate thanks
Thanks for watching cheers steve😀

some times il pump the hole twice but i always just once then move on i think it all depends on how many cast are about
Great video. we ended up coming down early am 16th we did ok, sorry we didn't see you xx
hi karen you are kean girl would of been nice to see you and al hope all is wellxx😀😀
Do black lug go deeper when tides coming in?
Hi James i have always found that to be the best time as the worms tend to become more shallow and easier along the waters edge good luck😀😀

What are the sieves you use in your bucket from? I have always used a kitchen sieve but they look much better
Hi the bucket is a live bait bucket from decathlon makes washing the worms easy just remember to drill a few holes in the bottom 😀😀
@ oh yeah I see it now. Just with the top part removed. Thanks that’s a great idea. Never have found something that suits quite right
Hi dave is it always best to use stainless rods on the pump and what thickness and what tread on each end making a 22 mm pump
Yes, absolutely mild steel will rust after 1 session i use 8mm 304 rods and use a 8mm thread 1 end and 6mm the othere but you can go both 8mm good luck
@hastingsangler thanks very much for that will get some stainless rods tomorrow and get them threaded both ends 8 mm
In the top off the tee piecewere the rod go through what sort of a cap do you use and do you sell them please
@DaveMielczarek I tell most people to buy a cheap chopping board and use a 25mm hole cutter with a 9mm drill bit
@@DaveMielczarek Hi good luck with the pump let me know how you got on ok
Should change your name to Hastings lugwormer
well its all part of angling lol
Another can’t get seasons , it is the middle of Autumn
your full of joy we all know how the months work when collecting bait but it dont stop us trying
