Hey man, thanks for this & other videos. Off to Kure/Carolina Beaches this weekend. I never care what’s running but a last minute booking on a perfect weather forecast before Election Day is gunna work just fine!!!
Eric, good video... We fished that section of beach last nite and didn't catch anything. There was no slough... made a move to a nearby beach this morning and caught about 8-10 citation size (15in+ 1.5 lb+) sea mullets today as well as numerous red and black drum, blues, spots and pomps... biomass is elsewhere!
I am not too versed at fishing Wrightsville Beach from the surf but I agree that this was a flat area. I was targeting this area because of the Pompano run going on at the pier. Sounds like y'all did really well!
Is that johnny mercers pier in the distance? i fish there a lot coming from charlotte nc , but I'm missing on surf fishing .. I asked because I like that kinda remote beach you are at.
All the quality pomps were coming about 3/4 the way down the pier, but man they were fickle only wanting pink gotcha plugs. Knowledge I'll use for next year, time to focus on trout, togs, and octopus. I bet live shrimp at FF will be deadly in the next couple weeks!
The balloon tires work alot better in the sand but the reason I have the rubber tires is because I put alot of weight on my cart. Its not easy to pull it through sand but its way easier than making three or four trips back and forth. I hope this helps.
Subscribed a while back Eric watching your surf fishing. Glad to see another one. Got me stoked to get down to Surf City for some fishing.
Surf city has been even better than down here. Thanks for subbing and of course watching too!

It’s looking like a perfect weekend to surf fish. I’m rooting for your success!
Fun times Eric, hard to beat fresh Whiting!
Thanks brotha. Man I cooked it with the drum and I think it was better.
Pomp’s should be back around march right? I think most of them have already migrated south but there’s always some that are later.
They are still catching them right now but yes. Typically spring and fall.

We got one whiting of decent size and 6-8 pompano of the exact same size you caught last weekend down at Ocean Isle. Thx for sharing the videos!
Thanks for the comment. At least we both got one really nice one and a good day on the beach!

Yes sir. I was fishing near the pier because they were smoking the pompano.
@ericwilliamsfishing true 👍 , I witnessed that last Thursday and Friday .

That’s good to know. I saw some big ones coming up too…
Hey I was looking into getting one of those cart exactly like what you got. Is it hard to pull through the sand with those smaller tires

A local guy makes them and sells them at Island Tackle in Cb. I’m not sure the name.
