    Hi mate, quick question if you can help?
    You know the little metal shaft that connects the mic to the actual arm (the bit that you can loosen/tighten with the little plastic screw head to tilt the microphone) - is it possible to detatch that from the arm? Maybe by fully unscrewing/loosening it all the way?
    I'm thinking of buying this stand and replacing the actual arm with one from an IKEA lamp because I don't think the clamp on this one will fit my desk...

    The reason why the psa1 is not treating you well is because the blue snowball is not supposed to be on mic arms the blue snowball is less than a pound and the rose psa1 will last your whole life while the mic arm you have will break I had it once then it broke after weeks so I got a psa1 and it lasted 4 years and it is still going. Great video though mate keep it up

      Appreciate it, I’ve recently switched my mic to the audio tecknica at2020 and this arm is still working well at the moment, I’m using my psa for my camera mount with a ball head on, works amazing for that. 👍

    • @chenwang448
      @chenwang448 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is actually a way to tighten it. You have to tighten the screws on the side and it will hold a snowball.

    • @GamesTogether1000
      @GamesTogether1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems like the Rode PSA1 is longer in other review videos but if you look up the original websites it says the Rode has a horizontal reach of 82cm and if you look at the Inno website it says that each of the two parts of the microphone arm is 48cm long, if you take that times 2 it should be 96cm.

    Can the InnoGear do the internal cable routing like the Rode PSA1 as shown in this video? - th-cam.com/video/ln2tGQigZCo/w-d-xo.html
    This is the only thing stopping me from buying the InnoGear as I can't find any info on it if the tubes look the same and the lay out is the same then i'll go with the InnoGear as long as it can do the cable routing.

      @@ZanderRound Good stuff man. Might just have to give it a try then as it's less than 40 quid right now. I used a HEIL PL-2T in the past, tried (three) PSA-1's, and they all had quality control issues, from scratched off paint to grinding when trying to move it and leaving metal flakes on the desk. Eventually moved to a Blue Compass, but looking to 'downgrade' because the tension on that thing is like the PSA-1, it's just WAY too much, even when loosened as far as it'll go. Useless for lighter mics.
      Problem is, the HEIL is 150 quid nowadays and all the Chinese knock-offs (like the Innogear and Neewer) look like they all come from the exact same factory now, so it seems you're just paying for the branding then.
      The only thing I will say is, if you can buy the PSA-1 clamp separately from a dealer, it is a good idea to do so. The major weakness in all these arms is the crappy clamps. The PSA-1 clamp is absurdly good just due to having such a large surface area, and it works just fine with all these arms, as that is how I used my PL-2T for years.
