    I like the idea behind this ultimate JUST being Omega. The other Ultimates feel like a boss gauntlet while TOP just makes Omega feel like a superboss.

      Yeah it is a great fight. I kinda wish that since it was all omega the bosses/ phases would be allowed to share one giant hp pool to keep with the theme.

      @@Zolototo I think the issue with that is the HP couldn't go that big and would just break trying to be a number that big. With all the "fake" health Omega has throughout the fight too not helping I'm sure.

      Really keeps the trend of Omega being the hardest FF super boss alive. As it should be.

      Two things; one, it would definitely depend on how SE plans to continue with Ultimates. Sure they wouldn't fit here, but I think Exdeath and/or Kefka should get something. Maybe it's time for some Chronicle trial bosses to show up, like Kefka + Warring Triad.
      Secondly, it's an all black color scheme that tires your eye much like BRF in WoW (loved for its mechanics, but hated for its color schemes). The number of models used is also quite small and the phase transition animations are not as cool to watch as any of the other Ultimates. On top of it, the mechanics of this raid isn't particularly enjoyable, and phase 4 even feels redundant - 4 and 3 should be combined into a single phase to lower the overall time of the encounter.

      @@felixamari157 I remember in WoW, before their first stat squish, the hardest difficulty of Siege of Orgrimmar with the biggest party size, they ran into that issue. Their solution was to cut Garrosh's HP pool by like, 70% or so, and just have him full heal at 10% during phase transitions.

      @@RetroScout decided to put these out when I noticed no chapter markers in the video and thought some people would like to see specific parts of the fights. Happy went on a few tangents, but they were all mostly relevant to the part of the fight there were in, aside from the few I marked since they referenced other phases of the fight.

    Thank you very much for this. I watched live a few times last week and it was difficult to follow so I've been looking forward to something like this. It was obviously a lot of work but worth watching in its entirety over a few sessions. My only suggestion for the future, if you do something like this again, would be to use a high bitrate local recording instead of a twitch vod to let paused screens be more useful and overall easier to watch.

      yeah big time agree, everytime he'd pause it was such a blurry blob of pixels i could barely understand what it was, having not done it myself yet >.< kind of limited helpfulness, can see what he talking about at mst parts but some parts it was literally like unintelligible what was on the screen lol

    Congratulations on the clear, it was great watching you guys prog. I know ultimates are content the majority of the player base doesn't do but, aside from an expansion, it probably generates the most hype!

    "blue to beetle" i love little mental tricks like this. i just tried p6s for the first time and the debuff mechanic cachax? with a purple head and green wing debuff
    i remembered it as green go to venom, and never even thought of the other version. just remember the 1 correct and if uncorrect do opposite

    exactly! on paper, P1 seems easy.., but it's actually very tricky (need to be on your toes the full phase)

    Looks rely good. I am going in to TOP for the first time tonight so good with a video that explaims the tought prosess behind the fight insted of just, do this. I feel like it gives me much more comprehension of the fight. So thank you.

    P1 is hell in PF.., even when trying to prog P2 or P3, PF wipes us soo much in P1
    (PF use P8S "Snake 1"-like prio for the towers & chains, and a simplified version for Panto.., where the healers are also fix, rest adjust)
    ... that aside it is fast & fun, when it goes well

    oh gud to know!.. that we shouldn't burn all our CDs at the end of Omega P1..
    ... used to go full Demi- Bahamut right at the of Omega, to be sure we kill it (enrage is real in PFs), will now try to save Demi Bahamut for M/F.., and practice caster LB there too)

      Honestly, if you are doing this in PF (and it sounds like you are), you should absolutely use everything you have in order to see P2 for prog purposes. If you are with a group consistently clearing P1, then you can start holding a bit.
      Also, if you caster LB at the start of P2, it is really hard to cleave with akh morn and deathflare, so you might as well use them in P1.

    As a sch/sge main, I never asked for more healing like they did in abyssos and TOP... nothing screams good healing design more than having a kit full of amazing AOE heals and having to spot heal bleeds and HP checks.
    If anything, I wanted to get something that went beyond pressing just one dps button over and over. Having to choose between healing and dps in burst windows just sucks away the fun I had tbh. yes, u have more to do and no, it doesn't feel great, at least not for me :(

      It just goes to show how ridiculously low the healing checks are in most fights. Still sucks that every healer only has 1 DoT and maaaaybe an extra ability or two between spamming dosis/broil/etc

      Mechnically I think it's kind of accurate, at least on the level of stress any one player takes on for any one mechanic. It's about as punishing on mistakes as well.
      It's really just the damage/healing I feel is any more difficult, things that in time won't be as difficult, as is with all fights.

    I hate looper as a healer, not because it's engaging, but it's a movement heavy mechanic with annoying healing on top of a tight DPS check that requires me to still put out 6k DPS. If you're going to make engaging healer mechanics, don't also make me have to not drop a single DPS GCD as a healer to meet the check comfortably

    They really made the first few phases be really boring to prog, and then they suddenly make it Icelit Dragonsong 50 times in a row. Where there's so few ways to resolve anything that you either do the exact movement your debuff role is meant to, or you wipe the entire group. Nothing like Nael where you can screw up alone and die. Every single thing here is a wipe or a success, no in between with very few exceptions.

      Yep, the playerbase has improved, if the mechanics dont keep up then everything will feel too easy. DSR was very much the same way, but it had *slightly* more leniency in certain phases

      ​@@wadeslilson4385 I tend to get frustrated easily by "repetition checks" where every person in the static has to learn 3-4 permutations of the same mechanic with slightly different walkways, stuff like hello world/wormhole/DSR limit cut. Thats not difficult, thats just waiting for the slowest guy to memorize ( not "get better", MEMORIZE ) how he has to walk.

But that's because this is not a solo activity, it is a TEAM activity. and the mechanics you described are team mechanics. what may be easy to you is difficult to your team member, and what may seem difficult to you can be easy to your team member. by your definition no mechanics in this game are hard, everything is about memorizing one way or another.
