The plate was a great find, same size as what you needed to. Dont over look the tyres. They are supposed to be replaced at around 7 years. That trailer will give you many years of service. Well done.

I’ve got a new tyre to go on, but might just take them all off, shotblast the rims and fit all new tyres…
I’ve had a few blow outs in the past always when I’m overloaded!

@@livingoffgridinscotland Trouble is with trailers, they sit around a lot and then when in use, usually they are load to the max. Tyres pressures are ignored and then pop. New tyres, since you have done so much to it already would be a good idea. Don't forget the spare lol

Another useful video, thanks for sharing. Don’t forget to use your home made creosote on the bare wood where you fixed the load rings.
    Cracking job 👍

It’s had lashings of creosote… I’ve also sealed all the edges around the aluminum and deck rings to stop water getting down into the boards

Hi. Great video, thanks for sharing. Did you get around to cleaning the galv panels on the trailer? We have two and really struggle keeping them clean. Any tips would be welcome.

No sorry, never got them cleaned, I believe the only way of cleaning galv is a very light sandblasting….

Hey I’ve a quick question. My Ifor Williams trailer axels have a lot of surface rust, it’s a 3500kg trailer like yours. Are these axels made of solid steel or are they box section steel?

Box section in the middle, stub axles are solid bar
I have seen them snap if heavily corroded
