Congrats buddy. Gaming is part of who i am, it’s hard to let it go. I think accepting we get to game less is the first thing then just gaming when we can without expectation of long sessions lol.

1. totally relate to the minimalist vs. home chaos aspect. I too am a wanna be minimalist, and despite all my videos looking like I have a super clean gaming room, little do they know the piles of mess are just out of frame all the time. haha.

Great video bro. I remember those days trying to make it all work and gaming holding a baby. You'll remember those moments forever. From one dad to another.... get a Steam Deck. Being able to play anywhere makes it so easy to pick up and play all your games from wherever you are in the house. Instead of being on your laptop while your little watches Bluey you can be playing your PS5 remotely. Or while keeping your wife company while she watches Netflix you can be remote playing/cloud gaming on your Xbox. Plus you get all of your Steam games everywhere with you. It's changed my life and my gaming habits. I get so much extra gaming time in the little mins when I would be scrolling my phone. Good luck bro.

Edited on iPad, turns out I edited in SDR but exported as HDR so everything was jacked up. Still learning this Final Cut on iPad. it’s wacky

After becoming a dad, I gave up playing anything I couldn't pause or dip out of instantly. If there's a season or daily quest in it, nope, not playing it.

I feel you dude. I did the exact same thing when I had my first kid. Then i got miserable. lol. Wife convinced me to get the Series S. I just stuck with pickup and pause games for the longest while.

95% of gamers can't afford 2 consoles (which includes 2 subscriptions) and don't want to jump between consoles - pretty good reason for war. If you so rich that you can't see those reasons god bless you.

Yeah the ones I had didn’t have the Xbox compatibility, so I returned them. The Xbox ones never came in stock in my area until much later, at that point I had settled with other options.
I’ve been peaking back into some of the newer models that are available now since they’re cross-console compatible.

hey man, have you calibrated the HDR in the settings on both consoles? I'm using the same monitor with my gaming PC and PS5. just wondering if you feel like the monitor actually hits the 1300 peak brightness it's advertised as doing
I’ve just used the on system HDR settings to tweak.
Otherwise I’ve maxed out brightness on my monitor and used the higher brightness settings. I can’t remember which at this moment, but I’m using one of the HDR picture profiles on the monitor as well so it gets plenty bright for me. I haven’t really measured it or anything though

The only people that will complain about the monitor are the PC elitist that get pissed they dont have the graphics card power to get the most out of it. Honestly how many console only gamers give a shit about what monitor you use? It's your money....spend it how you wish. I play on a PS5 and use the 27" Asus PG27AQDM OLED. It just works perfectly in my gaming setup and I wanted and OLED monitor. May upgrade to a 32" next year but undecided still
Genuine question. Why choose an oled monitor over a tv I feel like television high end television sets have way more features tailored for console especially in terms of hdr presentation. Unless it’s for size. I get it for pc but not really console.

The problem is you live in Toronto, move to a city like Ottawa where you dont spend most of your life stuck in traffic like Toronto.

It would have been more minimalist if instead of connecting so many devices you had just bought a PC.
You can get a ps5 AND an xbox for drastically less than a gaming PC. A good gaming PC is like 1800 bucks or more. Not worth it.
@TellurdogIsayhi This is such a tired cliche at this point, PCs don't have a set price tag and it is entirely possible to build a PC that is better than either console for a little bit more money. Sure, you'll probably spend a bit more, but it doesn't have to be "drastically" more and you get a whole lot more for your money.
