    This was the most strait forward confirmation/ remembrance of what is so. I mean it is just so plain simple - Game changer ! From this perspectiv FEAR is just a temporary phenomena in consciousness which comes and goes, which is actually made of consciousness itself - ERGO THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR !!!

    Remember that the sutras say that nothing can objectively exist. Even this space, however useful it is for pointing. The 6th patriarch of Zen pointed out the same thing, when someone made a poem about how we need to polish the mirror of our mind, he replied that there is no mirror, so where can dust alight? "All is empty from the beginning"

    Great video! I agree with your ideas, but I believe what is needed is a deeper scientific description of space and time that could complement your ideas. Our awareness is always in ‘the moment of now’ and therefore outside of the flow of time, but any meditation is over a period of time.

    • @NoOne-fe8qt

      There is a problem trying to prove/explain Consciousness to the typical scientific-view people. Western science is based on the primacy of matter, and is therefore the Science of Physics. The new science, the new paradigm, will eventually be the Science of Consciousness, where Consciousness and not matter will be looked upon as primary, and time, space, matter, mind appears within this apriori Consciousness. This will be possible only when a critical mass of humanity and scientists have gone through 'subjective' experiences of Consciousness and have a repeated experiential understanding. Until then the world-wide view stays 'objective', i.e. that the physical objects are real, but have not investigated the subject! I would not hold my breath or frustrate myself trying to explain the subjective Reality to the materialist-scientists who dogmatically hold on to the objective version being real. (Yes, Science too, and not just religion, has its dogmas. I believe these are described in a book 'Science Set Free')

    This makes it very clear that all I used to think is out there actually originates from "I" (Awareness/Here/Now). This makes me wonder, if everything is ME or is there because I am, when I so called die, is there really a body to be burried? My world is me. Right? So when the center of sensing ceases (body/mind), it must go with all it used to sense. Right? Anybody who thinks this way after the conviction that all that seems out there IS totally the same as in here. One coin, two sides?? I WISH Rupert could comment on this.❤🙏

    I also want to point out that the reason you can say that scientists and philosophers haven't found out how consciousness arises from matter is because they say so. They're honest people, unlike what many spiritual people would like to say. They are looking for an objective truth, and to do so they postulate an objective universe. This lets them explain a great deal and make the life of billions of people infinitely less plagued by suffering. Do not slander such people.

    • @saidas108
      @saidas108 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rupert hasn't slandered anyone. What he said happens to be true and you verified that by your comment. Some scientists are looking into consciousness but being scientists, they approach it as a brain function. The Consciousness Rupert and others refer to isn't the brain function consciousness you refer to.

    • @lepthymo
      @lepthymo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's not more than one consciousness.

    • @saidas108
      @saidas108 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right. Pure consciousness is the only Reality. Brain function consciousness is a thought that is observed in and made of Pure Consciousness. Scientists will eventually understand this.

    • @lepthymo
      @lepthymo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think in some way it'll find itself into philosophical discussions yes. The labels and conceptual context it'll be given might not be eastern though but it'll be interesting.

    • @saidas108
      @saidas108 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Why does everything have to be proven scientifically in order to valid or real? Science lies within the realm of the mind and the mind is limited. Science changes. Something is accepted as factual until something else is discovered that disproves it.
      Advaita or non dualism is Truth and not a philosophy, though one is built around it. Most scientists have a closed mind and deny the validity of non dualism because it doesn't fit into their models and limited thinking. Unless of course you start applying scientific verbiage and concepts which of course is no longer Advaita.

    Hi Rupert, I understand the concept of speaking softly but it is very difficult to hear your lectures and there is so much missed, even with the volume all the way up. I even recommended your videos to a few people and they said the same thing, they were missing half of what you are saying. Mind re-uploading with the volume a bit higher?

    • @saidas108
      @saidas108 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is your system or hearing. I've watched all of his videos and have only come across a couple that were a bit hard to hear and this definitely isn't one of them.

    • @5greatdayswithhim636
      @5greatdayswithhim636 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      saidas108 Attacking is unnecessary. If it were my system or my hearing then the other people with other systems and their own hearing would not have trouble too, now would they? Could it possibly be that the issue has been fixed since I posted this question SEVERAL months ago? But you didn't think of that, did you? Instead, you just decided to attack. Think about that for a moment, especially since you are on a self-help, spiritual video's page.

    Materialism being false is just as wrong as materialism being right.

    • @saidas108
      @saidas108 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only from an incomplete philosophical perspective.

    • @lepthymo
      @lepthymo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't the point that this isn't a philosophical perspective, but a pointing to a truth outside of words? When looking from that perspective, both materialism being truth, and it being falsehood, are just beliefs that have no bearing on the truth. Both true and not true could work because it's an accurate description that's still a description without its own truth, and neither true nor not true could work because that way the only thing that remains is that which relies on neither of them.

    • @michaelmcclure3383
      @michaelmcclure3383 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lepthymo yes, in the world of concepts every assertion has its negation and so on.
      Here the idea is to negate the prevailing concept of material limitation. That leaves you with the concept of the unlimited, the infinite, which itself should be dispensed with..
      Concepts are used to remove other concepts, then to be discarded entirely. As Ramana Mahashi said, one uses a thorn to remove another thorn, then throws it away.

    • @lepthymo
      @lepthymo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That works for me. You put it really cleanly.
      The way I tackled material limitation was by contemplating the paradox of everything being both material and electrical signals in the mind. It's impossible for an objective world to exist when that objective world supposedly only exists within something within that objective world.
      Both of those are commonly accepted views within materialism, so I think it's a good place to start for people interested in this. A place to try and unravel the ball of wool that is - well- you probably catch my meaning.

    • @michaelmcclure3383
      @michaelmcclure3383 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lepthymo yes, that's very clear.
      So, how did you tackle the notion that consciousness is somehow produced by an object, such as the brain? That's really the radical jumping off point here.

  • @rorkirbabtista9429
