I own this vehicle, the gear shift stalk is no problem whatsoever. After maybe the first 2-3 days, it becomes very natural to use. It really does work well. I love the little tone sound when it is placed in park.
believr77 your right I personally believe the Mercedes shifter is the best or the Germans
I have a 2014 ML 350 BlueTec (diesel) that I purchased new. In 60,000 miles it has needed only one repair-- a replacement of one of the injectors at about 25,000 miles under warranty. It has averaged 26 mpg! It is comfortable, very quiet, and powerful, and great on long trips. At 50,000 miles, I bought an extended warranty from MB USA to provide coverage til 100,000 miles. I think it is a fine vehicle and am very happy with this purchase.
I own one of the ML350 2013 with panoramic roof, menh!! the drive is very smooth and cool, family enjoys the soft drive and the view of snow and rain through the panoramic view on a road trip. It's worth every dollar invested.

Having driven my dad's new E350 roundtrip from Dallas to Milwaukee, I can never say that once did I confuse the shifter for the windshield control.
I own a 2012 ML350 and it performs today, just as well as when I drove it off the lot. This is a great vehicle, rides well, performs well in any type of weather, especially the snow. I am pleased with this vehicle and have nothing negative to say about it at all.

I own a 2014 ML 350 and in the year of 2021 I purchased it during the pandemic I think in 2020 I purchased a preowned with 40,000 miles one owner now I have 70,000 miles I barely use it but I must say I’m in love with it it’s beautiful roomy smooth comfortable classy love my interior and I do think it’s better looking than the newer ones that’s just my opinion I would highly recommend itI try not to abuse it because I like going a nice road trips and keeping the miles low I take it for special occasions

There is a lot of poor info in this review I own a ml and 1 the running boards have a huge impact when driving down gravel roads and if you live places that get ice or snow. I live in northern Canada and we see lots of both without the running boards you would get a lot of road rash and rock chips on the doors and back quarters
Is it worth it to buy a used ML350? Or not worth it bcs parts starting to fall apart after the warranty is over. Is the transmission solid or many problems to fix?
I also agree why it's not necessary to have the radio on in order for the back-up camera to work.
I like my 2014 ml350. It's a great family car. Great for long trips.

jesusBenitez100 I had a lease for 30 months. So no repairs. Just oil change every 10k miles (which I pre-paid with the lease). But Benz has a reputation for being unreliable, so I would not personally buy a used one, I just don't want to deal with potential headaches. I would only get one with low miles.

Can anyone whose got 2012-2014 Ml350 tell me if they can see the wires underneath their driver and front passenger seat when looking under from the front seat? I am so frustrated that I can see these wires. On my old 99ML320, Mercedes covered these wires with a panel so the wires won't be that visual. It also prevent my dog's hair from trapping between these wires. But there is no panels under my 2012 ML350 and I can see wire all over the place. I am wondering if mercedes neglect that part or if the dealership I got it from took it off and forgot to put it back. Please check your seat and let me know. Thanks.

I Love my 2015 Mercedes ML W166🇬🇧 also in Tenorite Grey, Its the perfect go anywhere vehicle & it'll go through anything nothing phases it ! , The gear slicker is in the best position of any car I've owned out of BMW's/ Lexus every car should have the gears here , Who doesn't have the radio on ??? Pathetic statement for the camera, The car's handling is superb & this reviewer should have spoken to Actual owners , I'd buy but another Mercedes ML W166 in heartbeat !!!!
first of all i dont think you'd accidentally "swat" the gear stalk up into neutral mostly because you swipe down to turn the wipers on in most cars ...

Let me share with you something very important when you buy a truck that had bmw or benz on it you don't pay for repairs that's why you buy them. I take my truck to the dealership get another car to drive and then come back when the work is completed. And again if your car is in drive and you open your car door the truck automatically puts the car in park. If you attempt to change gears while driving the will not let you so don't worry about I might hit it on accident thinking it's the windshield wipers that comes on automatically anyway

you cant compare a lexus and a benz they are to different classes of car and trucks . I just traded my lexus in for a s550 its my personal preference i dont buy car for others to drive so i care less how it drive to you.

What car has the wiper stalk on the left, that's right none. You shouldn't be driving or have access to sharp instruments if you mistake the gear selector for a wiper stalk.

The emergency handling is a bit unsettling. If you need to avoid something, it needs to do it when you tell it. The ml doesn't seem confident.
It's overhyped. If you're not a fool, handling will be no problem. In fact, you can't have a comfy car that emergency handles well. It's not possible. One or the other. You gotta choose.

This is my 5 benz in a row and second ML. So far so good. Just make sure you get a warranty. I had a blue tec
never again. The mileage is the same. Never buy a blue tec used. Sluge builds in the engine. Check before you buy.

Lol no it doesn’t, you don’t change the oil , and if you’re talking about carbon, it affects nothing, I can show you Mercedes diesels with intake ports nearly plugged shut with carbon and you would think they don’t even run but they do with no issues, it’s the strict emission compliance and how much oil the turbo lets past it that causes this. The engine computer is programmed to deal with it. So far on that specific engine highest I’ve seen is 640k miles on one engine
You buy this vehicle for status, nothing more.

Well it's not chrome, it's better...aluminum.
I actually contemplated for 3 months and was going back and forth between 2015 ML350 and 2014 Volvo XC60.
At the end, I went for the Volvo XC60 for the reasons below:
1) THE second row seat in Volvo goes flat where as in Mercedes, it stays up at an odd 45 degree angle making it useless
2) if you are 6 fee 1 or taller, your head will hit the roof in Mercedes and windshields pillars are right in your face. The Windshield is much smaller in ML350
3) THE dash layout is so modern and clean and low in Volvo. Not in ML350
As of today, I have 85000 miles of superb flawless ride with zero issues on my Volvo. I am very happy with my purchase.
All Consumer Reports does is nitpick at the German Automakers. I would take a Mercedes, Audi, and BMW over any other competing Luxury cars out there.

Once again because it is German made it is blessed by God. Just because you like this vehicle doesn't mean it has no flaws, or maybe in your mind it has to be good because you shelled out a whole bunch of money for it.
It is German designed but American built. None of Mercedes' plants in Germany build and assemble the M-Class except for some components, including the engine and transmissions.
This review is horrible. While driving the ml350 if you hit the gear into natural while driving the car will not let you change gears. Let me say this about the 2014 ml350 unless you are buying a Better mercedes truck there is nothing out that comes close. Real owner review

This car sucks!!! As soon as I bought one the very 1st day the indicator light came up saying the back brake light was out. I checked it and was thinking, if this car is new why would the light go out? I checked the light and nothing, the light was fine! It came back on later that day. Turns out the light housing had burnt out. WTF?@ I got it fixed but than other crap started happening such as sensors weren't working properly, all indicators for the back lights went off, and as soon as another light would go out. They took 2 days to fix it. I had a rental car and go figure it was a ML350. Guess what? the second day the light for the back went out and the indicator went out on the rental car!!! POS Mercedes you suck!!!!
I agree!! This stupid car blows out bulbs faster that candles on a birthday cake! Worse German car built today. I miss my Audi.

Overall, I think the avoidance maneuver is way terrible, and in my opinion the worst redesign ever, according to this review! The last generation ML is way better than this one.
This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned problems from day 1, weird front end noises, controls on steering wheel strip!!! Do your self a favor and get a Audi better build machine.
+Patrick Williams i disagree. ive had one since new in 2012 and i havent heard as much as a squeak. only problem ive had is with the cargo screen in back not retracting fully after about two years, but MB replaced it under warranty.

yes i spent a lot on it, first i had to replace 4 shocks that were not covered under warranty that cost almost 4K with parts & labor. then moon roof went motor cost 550 with labor. not all this was done at the dealership.
these cars are good to lease then take them back, never keep one past the warranty because when you have to come out of pocket to repair them you really feel it.
I hate this ugly car so much It sucks my 2011 Kia is better then this ugly thing
