    I see you have some Aerokroil lubricant, love that stuff

    Not to be critical, but you have one of the cables in the cup connector bracket installed incorrectly.

      Do explain? My first time doing it so if I gotta change it I will 👍🏼

      The cable that you have sticking out of the cup bracket where the two cables come together should be from the outside in. You have it from the inside out. Don’t know if that will help. I tried to send pics of my truck but I can’t figure out how to do it.

    Thanks for showing your struggle with the cable. Most would edit the tough part out. Appreciate the part numbers as well.

    When i had problems with the connector grabbing a big pair of channel locks and putting the teeth on both sides just on the edge was enough to easily draw them together and loose.

    You can get slack for the cable at the foot pedal to put those on. at your emergency brake foot pedal . at your foot pedal it works like a ratchet hold he Sprint down with a flat screwdriver .while pulling on the cable it will release the ratchet stick a screwdriver through the hole just above foot pedal to hold it from pulling the cable back in. .and Your back emergency brake cables will slide right in to where you were trying struggling with them. then go back to your emergency brake pedal pull the screwdriver out the cable Will tighten up again.done just a little tip from a fellow mechanic good job though

    I used a trailer wench I had, connected it to the front someplace then put the hook on the bracket where all 3 cables come together then cracked it back.

    😢 I feel ur pain bro. Pull the excess out of parking brake lever in cab and clamp it so it doesn’t return when you let it go, then all ur power can go into the cables coming from the axle. 🎉

      Ya someone else told me this afterwards as well. Definitely will be doing this on the next truck! Appreciate the advise 🤘

    @mariocorleone106 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Soooo... Did you ever adjust the pedal? I took a zip tie and tied the the "spring lever" down, pulled as much cable as i could and clamped it so i had plenty of slack to get that junction connected.

    I watched you struggle with this video. I had the same problem. I ended up making a tool. It cost me less than 10 bucks and it draws the cables right together and snaps right into the coupler. I’d send you a picture, but I don’t see an option for that.

    The shop changed the cables, then the rear disc brakes and rotors for $1750 on 4 visits. I gave up on them and have to make e-shoe adjustments every few thousand miles. Seems it fails went hot but strong when cold.

    • @JeffRobertson-m7v
      @JeffRobertson-m7v 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Stop adjusting the shoes. Your over adjusting, shoes are rubbing and getting hot which causes brake fade. It's a parking brake. Not a driving brake.

    It's not letting me pull them together at all I'm less than an inch away but I can't pull anymore.

    • @DIYDiesel

      You really have to pull hard like I did to un wind the parking brake lever. You may need to unwind it completely

    Honestly you are better off to attach to the brakes last. It is much easier to fight 1 spring at a time.

    • @DIYDiesel
      @DIYDiesel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use to do it that way and I could never get it good enough to hook on. Could just be not strong enough tho idk

    That’s a total BS on Chevy part that emergency brake cable. I made mine adjustable back at the leaf spring engineers don’t have to do it so they don’t care now it’s a half hour job instead of having a heart attack trying to get those two together 😁
