    Thanks so much for watching everyone! The process may be a little different on each car, but the mindset is the same.
    I also found an issue with the caliper on the right rear. I touched on it for a second in the video. I will show you guys exactly what is wrong, once I dive into that issue.

      Watching this all I can think is why doesn't my mk4 have such a legit console?! My fuel door release is in a similar spot but it sits out in the open (with no actual console for storage) I can't help but feel like having it hidden under a lid like that would be so much better

    It is rare that I find a video that explains a process so clearly that I feel like I could go out and do the work after watching just once. You have the gift of explaining details clearly with excellent filming. Every component was easy to see and understand. I have liked and subscribed your channel because I want to see more.

    I do not typically comment or like much, just due to my antisocial nature. However, this video was SO WELL DONE, I just had to drop a like, comment, and subscribe. I absolutely love how in depth you get without overwhelming us with information or throwing in useless BS. I’m also very happy with the flow of the video, how you take the time to explain each step in depth enough for me to literally be able to visualize how I am going to do it once i get home, without even having the car in front of me. Thank you for such a great video, and keep up the excellent work, man!

    After replacing a heater core on my Volvo 940 the interior was never quite the same. So I pretty much gutted it (weight reduction bro).
    After dealing with a finicky window regulator I left the door panel off for easy access (more weight reduction bro).
    Then the parking brake became an issue. What to do? Take it out was the obvious answer. Took out the center console and threw it away. Took out the lever and threw it away. WEIGHT REDUCTION BRO! Tucked the cable under the carpet.
    And now I finally have a place to put my cup of coffee.
    All that being said... if I ever need to adjust/replace my cable on my 240 or 740 I'm coming here first.
    Thanks Charles! Luv ya!

    Perfect video, really liked it! In my car the parking brake cables are fine. I have a problem with one of the rear caliper. It has the common VW caliper with integrated parking brake like the ones in this video. If I try to operate the parking brake lever on the caliper (have done this without pads for better viewing) i can see the piston moving out. Problem is if I release the lever the piston moves back in, looks like the self adjuster doesen't work. On the other side I can operate le lever multiple times and see the piston moving a little more out at every stroke without retracting. Is there a way to fix this or do I need a new caliper? Thank you for your work. Greeting from Italy :)

    I recently had my engine taken out to fix an oil leak in my 2009 Passat. But since than, I've had two coolant leaks. Did the mechanics do a lousy job or does the plastic become brittle and break?

    • @SlimShadow11
      @SlimShadow11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oil leaks expire the plastic flanges for your radiator lines. So if there was an oil leak, they should have checked to see if it had dripped and expired anything else. Coolant leaks are common with these cars. But oil leaks definitely speed the process up a lot. I think your mechanic is either lazy, or didn't want you to be worried with a huge bill at once.

    My ebrake cable will not pull all the way out of the tube. There's some sort of metal obstructing the cable end from pulling out. It's only big enough for the thinner white sheath to fit through. Is this part of the old cable (which was extremely rusted and hard to pull through tube) that I just have to force out?
