After seeing this video, I immediately searched for it and ordered two sets for me to start. I'm looking forward to get my RG unicorn full armor and Sazabi. I bought the Rg Sazabi right after I saw your review. I was so worried about the shoulders breaking anf I think it was the step I was the most nervous about during the build. But in the end, it is literally the best kit I own: love every aspect of it and the solidness of the finished model is so satisfying. I was thinking of purchasing the Moon Gundam next...
I've built a TON of Gundam models, going back to 1998. The RG Sazabi and RG Nu Gundam are the BEST kits I have ever built. I dont always enjoy the build process, but for those kits I almost miss the it. These kits are a work of art. I also HIGHLY recommend buying the RG Sazabi fin funnel effect parts (eBay) and the Bandai RG Nu Gundam Fin Funnel Expansion kit (the extra funnels plus extra base/sticks for posing funnels). With those two add-ons, having Nu vs Sazabi flying with funnels deployed, its a dream come true (since my first MG, the MG Sazabi in ~2002 I've rigged up cheap wire dioramas to make the same effect). The extra kits are very inexpensive - I got the Sazabi funnel effect parts for 14 USD on eBay. If you are bold enough, I also HIGHLY recommend spray painting or air brushing the Nu Gundam Fin Funnel inside pieces (the ones that are on the inside of the funnel when folded). I painted mine silver going to gold on the outside, really makes the funnels stand out compared to the plain dark blue (used panel and masking tape to oultline just the inner section of the funnel lengths for spray painting - the section with the cross stitching paneling). Spending a tad extra time on such details make the Nu Gundam and Sazabi standout as easily the best value centerpiece models available in the Bandai catalog - buy them both and thank me later.
The RG Sazabi is a BEAST, and I fully agree with it being #1. easily my favorite RG kit (partly due to it being my favorite MS) or just kit in general. It's literally a shrunk down MG with every thing that statement implys Also, if your reading this and thinking about getting one. don't put it on a 1/144 scale stand. Despite it being a 1/144 scale kit, it's absolutely massive and pretty much needs a 1/100 scale stand.
I would love to see some classic reviews once a month or something of older kits. Maybe even obscure kits like the hg Nobel Gundam, or the hg Gundam g-self atmospheric pack. But overall this is one of my favorite channels on TH-cam

Really nice. I knew it was going to be a toss up between Moon Gundam and Sazabi but I suppose in the end, the Moon Gundam is still "just" a High Grade. I've had to cut down on my Gunpla purchases substantially but all off the top 4 (excluding the Unicorn which I already have) are definitely high on the list of things I that might push me back into buying kits. 2018 was actually the year I discovered the hobby. I’d known about Gundam for ages since I was balls deep in the anime community but had never touched the series. First kit was the RG Build Strike and as solid as it is, the Booster sucked balls and broke within a year. Seeing these kits that were new back then is so nostalgic to me

I'm honestly surprised the rg tallgeese didn't make it!! In my personall opinion the rg tallgeese, rg sazabi, and hg leo were the best of this year. They are the only three I picked this year and are the best kits I've ever experienced along with the mg gm sniper 2 from last year!!
Mmm I personally don't want a continuation of the Tekkadan story. They fought and sacrificed their lives so the rest of the characters could lead peaceful lives. Don't want Mikazuki's son to have a life anything like his. Calamity war, and perhaps seeing Barbatos' original pilot, could be awesome. Or, knowing Bandai, they'll make a new Gundam for the lead. Agreed tho that the app is just that. I wanted another anime

As someone just trying to get into the gunpla hobby, what exactly is #4? Does it have a grade like traditional kits? Should a beginner avoid it? Also, #1 looks incredible and I've heard high praise for it outside of this video as well, but I've heard I should probably be starting with high-grade kits. Should I get experience under my belt before picking up #1?
I honestly disagree with the Deep Striker being on this list, especially coming in before the Narrative. Edit: And no F91 2.0! I really enjoyed that kit, it's a very nice modern version of the F91, even if it was unnecessary due to the older F91 being an equally great kit.

It's a great kit, but the simple fact is all the Deep Striker does is make RE/100 quality upgrades which add £100 onto the price. I payed £80 for the EX-S and that felt like it was worth it, but the Deep Striker doesn't add enough to put the price up to almost £200 where I am, or even the maybe £150 minimum I could see it going for.
I'm working through the RG Sazabi right now, along with a few plastic tubings i picked up to make my own customized funnel attack effect parts. Why Bandai decided not to include any effect parts by default (or hell even by expansion pack) is beyond me.
