AC/DC - Up To My Neck In You - Live 1977 (2020 Remaster)

- September 3rd 1977 - Old Waldorf San Francisco.
Over the past few months I've read a lot of positive stuff about my 2019 remaster of the San Francisco recording. So I dug it back up from the archive and worked on it a little more. I noticed that the recording was a little slow, around 3/4%, so I upped it a bit and voila! This could be the first correct version of the San Francisco performance. This is especially useful for guitarists :)
I have reworked 2 more tracks of the recording in this way, and they will appear on the discord server sometime this summer for free.
Photo's in this video are of the gig itself, I think these are all of em.
Thanks for 6.000 subscribers :)

I'm 70 years old and listening to this makes me feel like 18!!
Get it baby!!!!
💣💣💣
My dad's 70 and he hates acdc he destroyed my highway to hell cassette glad your a cool 70
Thats what its all about man!!!
Good on you....Rock till you drop!!!
The purpose of the universe was for these 5 men to play together in a rock n roll band.
Those three monsters on rhythm are a freaking machine.
And then you got Bon on the wheel and Angus hanging out the window of the co pilot.
A party slaughter machine!
This band with this bandformat( Mark Evans/ Cliiff Willliams) is mindbogling good. Ik like Blues, Stones, Jimi, Deep Purple, Zappa ...But this ACDC is the thing.
From 4:30 to 6:30, when Malcolm, Phil and Cliff stand alone on stage, that two minutes contains more Midiclorians than all Jedis togheter. What AC/DC do is far beyond magic.
All that and the BonfuckinScott comes in like a freightliner
Forgive my language but it’s so fucking awesome.
Nothing is better than live music, yea outside is scary but its worth it for this🖤🤟🏽
It is a crying shame there is no video to accompany this recording. One of AC/DC's best songs from one of their best albums and when they were in the rarest of form.
i concur.
Powerade is by far their best album
Just when you thought you’d listened to all of the AC/DC bootlegs over the years and you stumble across an absolute ripper you’ve never heard before. This recording is absolutely insane. Bon’s vocals freaking wailing, and how about that quiet break down and crescendo into absolute raw Marshall power! Unlike any I’ve heard before!
Nothing like late 70s AC/DC at full roar. Nothing!
Fukn hey bro! Their is nothing on the planet like this!🤟
I did a little digging and found a cd of the gig this was recorded at… 3 days before I was born. The sound quality on the cd isn’t quite as good as this remastered version but it’s one hell of a sound!!!!!
Holy crap, exactly what I was thinking..
Pitch seems a little high to me ? Or my version of this recording is a bit slower.
I'm about to turn 57 years old. Been listening to AC/DC since i was 12...The greatest rock n roll band ever! Incredible! Got goosebumps all over!
@Joakim Rönnbäck I’m same age as you and feel exactly the same! First heard them in 1976 on a live radio broadcast, never looked back. I keep it alive by playing guitar in a band covering classic old AC/DC songs. It’s just brilliant medicine for the bullshit world we have right now. 🤟
Bin 54. Mir geht's genauso. Grüße aus der ehemaligen DDR.
Började med High Voltage 1977 när jag var 14 - visste inte ens att LTBR fanns :-)
Me to, brother !!!
Me too!!
Scott was gifted like Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers. Exceptional frontmen
Better than both combined. He's the greatest of all time.
Wow you're putting them in the executive class. Not sure if I'd go that far but, overall I'd say best band of all time. Even zeppelin cus of the number of great songs on each album. If you bought an album of theirs you got your money's worth. All the songs were great and we re talking 40 years
Bon was a completely different animal from the same Jungle. Plant and Rogers are both great for different reasons. Bon as well. You cant say that any of them are better than the next. All great for their respective bands. If I had to pick songs that show off each of their amazing talents I would choose this one for Bon. “Achilles Last Stand” for Plant and “Rock Steady” for Rogers.
Bon was the bad boy that’s what separates him from all the frontmen singers
Jarett you see they're all great frontmen but in different leagues. Now Jimmy Hendrix beats them all flat bcoz of his evil strumming with his left hand, mouth and behind his back guitar riffs! But then he didn't sing so well. John Fogerty/CCR is in his league as he's a double barrel bcoz of his guitar and excellent vocals. Forgive his check shirts if you please! Bon Scott was a cocky frontman bcoz of his naughty smile and not everyone has the guts to appear barechested on stage!
The breakdown in this is insane. What Malcolm is doing with the rhythm in that is genius.
Just unbelievably great. Best band of all-time.
Yes it is 👍
La mejor banda de la Tierra. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Most underrated front man in the history of Rock...in the history of music
@@Dilley_G45amazing voice but his stage presence was a little unnatural in my opinion, I seen Bon in 1979 he’s on of my favorites I’ve never been interested in any Brian Johnson stuff
there is so so much amazing ac/dc material that people don't realize they've never heard ... !!
What a masterpiece. Bon was on fire.
HE was burning by singing this song!! What a singer!
Phil Rudd = the drums beast🥁🥁
I listen to this and think...do other people love this as much as I do? There's no way anyone else loves this as much as I do.
You are not alone!
Yes , me .
Everyday. My coffee dope in the car to reach my work.
The greatest lineup of the greatest rock n roll band ever. Live recording and the band is tight as hell.
My favourite acdc track😅😊❤
Daaaamn! I was just wondering if there was a live recording of this song! Powerage is perhaps the best AC/DC album ever!!!!
Definitely
I must agree.
It is the best studio album they made, true kick ass rock n roll.
I didn't want it to end. The way they took the intensity up 3, down 2, up 3 just kept trending up and up and taking me with it until I'm bouncing round the room in sweat and tears, neck hairs standing up - just magnificent. Boogie woogie!!!!!!!!!!
Boogie Woogie sure does nail it!!!
Greatest rock n roll singer of all time! You will live on forever brother Bon! You were truly the best ever. RIP my friend.
Concordo plenamente!
The ONE and ONLY .... Bon Scott... Thank`s
You're right there's only one Bon Scott
@@johnstansbury1541 that's right!
Bon was a one of a kind and can never be replaced. My number one favorite singer. Just think what he could have done, if he hadn't of passed on so early
Mr Rudd has such a swing - no fills just counting to 4 then counting to 4 again!
Bonn was something very special.
He was an awesome frontman
Yes I agree a real natural talented Rock Singer..so atonishing
Indeed 🕶
You're actually doing what AC/DC and their f...in' record company should have done a long time ago. Restore these hidden masterpieces and let the fans enjoy these moments.
Such a good rarely played live song beautifully upgraded by your work. Thanks for that. Greetings from France. Carry on amigo!
Greetings from Nashville TN!
C'est vrai mon ami
want the original live video of this song.
AC/DC has owned the masters of all recordings for years now. They license them back to Warner entertainment. It’s not the record company holding these recordings back folks. It’s the Young family. One possible reason would be additional royalties being paid to Bon’s family every time they are played or sold. ⚡️
I've been up to my neck in whiskey up to my neck in wine and I've been up to my neck and wishin... That this neck wasn't mine!! Some of the best lyrics in rock and roll ever!!
Malcolm is over the top on this piece of art that history will never forget. Love it it's got a blues that is really quick and down with Malcolm and that sarcastic rock of Angus. And Bon takes it and runs with it . Just what acdc puts on the menu GREAT ROCK AND ROLL !!
The Bass is highlighted here and really good!
Cliff has a fast right hand and a pounding sound that really drives a lot of songs 👍
The real unsung hero of AC/DC!
This is amazing! Phil's natural ability to hold down a straight 4/4 time, while also "swinging" the beat (which I've gotta give credit to Cliffs same ability), make these two a Rhythm Force all their own. And listen to Bon fucking shred his vocals after the guitar issue was fixed.
Attitude and Youth. Powerful.
The rhythm section is so underrated.
@Mike Anderson nah, they are quite well known as one of the best.
Bloody Brilliant. Bon's Vocals Are Absolutely Incredible ❤❤❤
Over fourty years ago and still this sounds so powerful. It was a pleasure to watch Bon all those years ago.
You actually got to see him?
@Bad Boys Boogie wow. That's fantastic. I would've liked to have seen them around 77, 78 after let there be rock came out. Speaking of which, I like your username.
@Bad Boys Boogie oh get outta town! Lol. Now im intrigued, please tell me more.
@Bad Boys Boogie your story is so cool! I thank you for sharing info, and anytime you want to share more id be grateful😀
@Bad Boys Boogie thank you for the link, I subscribed
When I listen to ACDC so does my neighbors.😊
😂
Lo l
me too bro.
When I listen to acdc, my wife kicks off and the headphones go on... Music matters.... Lol this is an amazing version of possibly my favorite acdc banger!
Steve Crow - My neighbours do too! They’ve nailed banging on the wall on beat but their vocals are still a bit off 😁
Bon sounds incredible here!
Phil Rudd: MACHINE! First drum hero that i have in my life.
YOur so right! Phil is a beast!
YEAH RUDD & WILLIAMS are to ROCK what BARRETT & BARRETT are to REGGAE ❤.....RIDDIM SECTION......❤
Phil Rudd is the best drumer ever🤘🤘
@@John-tb8po that's what Lars Ulrich says. He knows something about drums.
Holy f*ck,my favourite ac/dc song, never heard this live version before, love the breakdown!Bon is on fire here and drums are just bouncing!!Love it!
Best Live AC/DC song ever! American Blues thrown down by the Australians in such a raw classic style!
One of the greatest tracks ever.
The first I heard from these men and the rest is history.
Brilliant song, brilliant performance, brilliant remaster
Brilliant comment
One of my favorite songs with AC/DC, even with Brian Johnson. "Givin the dog a bone" I love as well. 😉
@@skummisrocker ...,it's my air, my food,. my live....Im a live with this muzic!!!
..
Can't hear Malcolm hardly. Crap mix
@@kaisersouze9370 Seen them live, twice. 😉 Both time in Stockholm. ✌️🤘
Man they were cooking here. Not that Scott era AC/DC ever didn't. Oozing with attitude.
Listen to phil....groove and metronome master
Phil is the Man
Phil Rudd should be in every list of ten best rock drummers of ALL time. Period.
This is the first time that I have ever seen Malcolm Young not playing his big fat GRETCH guitar!!!!
He played a Gretsch White Falcon in the promo videos for the Back in Black album. I haven't confirmed if he played it on the recordings, but he can clearly be seen with it in the promos. I've never seen him playing a Tele before though, but he always fell back on his Gretsch Jet Firebird.
@@livewire2759 The White Falcon looks HUGE on him in those promos...
The Tele was a 2nd guitar he and Angus would use if one of them broke a string.
The switch master looked big not the falcon
@@livewire2759 He played the white falcon live, he also used it on the for those about to rock album. I don't know if he used it live back then to
This song never gets old. One of my favorite live AC/DC songs. I want to play this song live at my college someday for a talent show.
You better get moving.
timeless absolutely timeless stuff.
fucking magical track.
Malcolm is my Hero.
he's on point.
Here is the proof !!
THE BEST BAND EVER !!!
Malcolm young !!
Angus phil and cliff
And BON SCOTT !!
I think i like this this version more than the recording! R.i.p Bon and Mal🤘🏼
There’s a live recording of Gone Shooting from The Paradise Theater. It’s incredible.
It’s the best live version of this underrated song! Love it, thank you👌🏻
i love this version too.
middle part of Malcolm's rhythmic is Magic.
never found the original video of this concert
Never ever get tired of AC/DC
One of our favorite songs from our favorite AC/DC album. Long live Bon!
Malcolm's guitar. Never again
The best rock and roll love ever.
Love the early lyrics in this version!
The up tempo suites this track.. the original is excellent but his version is outstanding .. We miss you Bon.
Bon Scott's vocals are just legendary
Rarely does a live version out do the original. This just might. They sound so tight...
Totally agree, but if you listen to the studio version closely you'll find out it's basically live in studio. I don't know about the vocals, but you can clearly listen to Angus changing from rhythm to lead and back for the solo. No guitar overdub in that track.
My words....usually studio is way better
@@AfonsoEGM
Often the case in that LBTR - Powerage era
The ONLY ONE WHO COULD SING THIS SONG SO AMAZING!! Rip Bon Malcom
Have you seen Solodallas with Michael Vincent on vocals? You’re welcome! No thanks required. 🤩
@@bluetopaz0411 thanks i will find it
The very best 👍🍻
Amazing quality and sound !
Bon the best voice in Rock still to this day 👍👍👍👍👍👍
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH. There’s another version of this from ‘77, perhaps the same concert, but you just can’t hear them clearly enough. This is PHENOMENAL. Everything that we as fans love about this band can be felt in this recording. WOW!
As a follow up, I’m probably responsible for 99% of the “views” this video has had since my previous comment. This is just perfect AC/DC. Perfect.
Probably the same concert. I believe there's only one known show in 77 where they played this.
The quality of this particular version is superb!
This has to be One of AC/DC's Finest Hidden Gems
It's True Blueprint AC/DC , Fucking Ripping This The Boys Are 😈🎸🎸🎤🎼💯🔥
All True AC/DC Fans Know "Up To My Neck in You" is one of their best tunes and this version is just pure stunning brutal ferocious Rock , Love it , oh my god its just insanely Rockin' 😈
It getts me racen, blood pumping heart smiling , body and mind insane
Love it 😀 been on it 1979
" Play it loud"
Thank you for putting this out 2024..
3 words. HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT!!
Great Song! Never Heard this one live until now, different lyrics too, Very Rare.. Thanks mate!
@Maitre MarkWe'll Never get another Bon, that's for sure..Rock in Peace both Bon & Mal🎶🎶👏
This is gold!!
Tout ce qui à était fait avec bon Scott c'est plus que de l'or on ne peut pas faire mieux
That guitar tone is slamming hot !
One of my fav live performances. Mal is playing a Tele, that mid part is so yummy.
Malcolm was the best rhythm guitar writer.
I’ve heard people say Malcolm played on the clean channel on his amps and hit the strings harder to get distortion. The breakdown sure sounds like it.
@@danmoth5126 When you really listen, AC/DC's guitar tone is surprisingly clean. Even Angus has only a touch of grit. I've seen many covers on YT where other guys have the gain turned up to death metal levels. Just completely changes it and not for the better.
F'n right! Unbelievable talent and jams that transcend time! How rock is supposed to sound!!! Woooooooo!
Damm right
Them boys could dang sure put on a show, I’ll tell you what !
Only time I’ve seen them live was with Bon,something I’ll never forget.
The best RAW rock n' blues great version not heard much live 👍
BRILLIANT BON THE MASTER 🍻
This is absolutely killer! Thanks for posting.
Wow, how have i not heard this live version!!! That extended ride with rhythm was reminiscent of a live version of rocker..🤘😎🤘
Best rock and roll singer ever ever ever. Period.
The best acdc from the 70 years
BONN's Finest hour/minutes ? IDK, but this is my favourite AC/DC song,w/B.J. they almost never play it ! Thanks for posting it ! Malcolm playing a Telecaster, WTF ?...if the pic wasn't there I would have thought something was wrong, LOL !
Thanks man. My favourite. Of all time I come to believe. Seriously, after years of rock and metal I got to say, that's it. It doesn't get any better than this. Having a pint in my fucking bed here listening on my headphones but it couldn't be any more epic. Thanks for remastering all of these absolute classics, we all appreciate it so much mate. Cheers from UK, ride on
First time I heard this I was in bed too just closing out the night. I was sweating in pure joyous rocking by the end of the jam. Must have listened a dozen straight times that night, absolutely blown away at how perfect this is.
It's Dec 9 2023, I'm laying in bed with hearing this for the 1st time also, sipping a beer ,just raised a shot for mal and bon.thanks everyone one involved for allowing me to hear this, brings back lots of memories !!
Feckin excellent. So tight👌😊
I start my day the rock’n’roll way! With a big ass bowl of AC DC!
nothing beats the studio version for appreciating the raw power of Bon Scott
Nah live 2001 is abit better but only of you enjoy the instrumental rather than the singing
Bon was about as good and original a frontman as there ever was. A good old fashioned kind of man too. RIP.
So beautiful. 4:34: The part where Malcolm, Phill and Cliff play very subdued and then 5:52 when Angus knocks again. 18 karat Rock'n Roll 👌🏻
After Angus's guitar is fixed they f***** Rip the shit out of it! Bon is SCREAMING the words like he's angry and he STILL SOUNDS A*M*A*Z*I*N*G !!!
best part i ever heard, on point.
Nice, awesome. Turn it up loud
don't ask me, how i missed this gig, this wasn't even recorded on powerage yet, i first saw them in 1978, at the old San Jose convention center, opening for Ronnie Montrose, front row...
Thank you for posting. This is vintage Bon.
8 minutes of pure joyful bliss...
Just found this. Great remaster!!!!!! Thank you and I always love me some Bon!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!! 😍😍😍🎸🎸🎸😎🍸
A particular favorite of mine off the powerage album, sounds great, good job.
Found this version only last week.... Shit these bits rock.... And this was recorded 3 days before I was born..... I need a time machine....
Note that Mal used a Telecaster on this tour! History!
amazing live rendition. thank you. rocknroll machine
One word...... untouchable.... !
1 things for sure. If getting old means I got to see bands in their prime, it’s not so bad. This is fantastic! Thank you so much!
Bass sounds unbelievable in this version. Thumping!!
That bass line makes me crazy.
Cliff is an absolute beast.....
Oh it's just lovely
once again, thank you SHIT! that is AWESOME!
This 4:35 boys and girls is what you called Rock and Roll from the greatest band in the world.
MASTERPIECE !
Utterly stunning. Love the band in this era.
Greatest ever bon gone but not forgotten with love from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Oh god, this is so good. Love AC⚡ DC forever. 🎸🎸🎸🎸
What a band
Nice pfp homie.
one of my favourite recordings ever (beside Dec, Jan 76, and Marquee club later) Curiosity id that they R playing Powerage songs, even the Album has not been released yet. they have done almost complete Powerage beside LTBR. Simply they*ve been touched by divine force!
When i listen to AC/DC so does the street.
killer....love this Brutal Song. this is the right one for a fight in Pub.
I could not help but notice Malcolm playing a telecaster. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of him playing the telecaster before
Ive seen a pic of him playing a fender strat...it’s just wrong! 🤪
I saw a pic of him with a Les Paul once, and thew caption said it was someone else's guitar because they had technical issues right before the show. So weird to see that.
A touch of bad boy boogie in the Intro ! Great track !
Bon's vocals on this remind me of Little Richard. Just belting out the song at the top of his lungs like nobody's business!
I definitely think Little Richard was one of Bon's main inspirations! Maybe I even read it somewhere, not sure. Anyway, that vocal style is pretty similar!
