I live in Melboune and I have also lived in Palm Bay. I think the area where I live is perfect because I have them both nearby. I live on Babcoock St and I have all the shops in Palm Bay just minutes away and the down town and beach too. . I consider both very good but Palm Bay has grown a lot and the traffic is getting complicated. I think what is needed in both is better nightlife and more things for fun. And they should change the nightlife schedule. The only thing there is to have a little fun on the weekends are the bars and at 1:45 in the morning everyone is out. I think we really need more activities and amusement parks.

I’ve lived in Viera West for a couple years and there are parts of Palm Bay I would move to. Palm Bay is under rated.

I'm not even sure that I'm going to have the money to buy a house, but I might soon. I never thought much about moving to Palm Bay, but the old, non-HOA house I'm looking at, though not directly on the water, has a small but pretty water view of Turkey Creek, and is close enough to the Indian River to have wonderful ocean breezes, just like we had when I was a child in Eau Gallie, at about the same distance from the river. When I saw this house online, it had just been sold, for about one half of the price the house flippers are asking now (and some of their "improvements" have got to be reversed!). But it has a big yard for gardening, maybe a pool, someday, and a few, really nice trees. It is far from perfect, but I'm sold.

I'm watching from New York. I love your video, but you didn't touch on the crime rate in both cities.

Hi, thanks so much for watching! That is because I cannot discuss crime or schools and my opinions on them as it's against Fair Housing Laws that I have to abide by as a licensed REALTOR. Here are some ways to research crime in any area:
      1. Check out these informative websites:
      neighborhoodscout.com
      crimegrade.org
      2. Join local Facebook groups and explore their discussions or create a post. Local residents tend to be candid in their responses. You might encounter some negative feedback, but most people are sincere.
      3. Consider reaching out to the local police station or sheriff's office to ask questions. While their assistance can vary depending on their workload, they can sometimes provide valuable insights.
I hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions!

Depends who you ask but comparing to Kissimmee, it's much less. It can get busy during rush hour but it still moves. It's not stop and go.

Keep in mind that she is including the rather distant and unincorporated Viera/Suntree as being in Melbourne (Avenues, Brevard Zoo) when neither is within the city limits. Viera/Suntree does not consider itself to be in Melbourne.

    • @livinginbrevard
      @livinginbrevard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Good morning! Suntree and Viera have Melbourne addresses even though they are unincorporated and are just North of the city line. For research purposes, it's important for people to know that these areas exist, especially if they are searching listings in Melbourne since Viera and Suntree listings come up under Melbourne. But yes, I typically point out that they are unincorporated areas (lower taxes!). :)

@@livinginbrevard it is true we have a Melbourne zip code and to avoid confusion, we usually put Melbourne on the return address to avoid confusion though they both work fine. As the Viera rep said on a more recent video, the build-out of Viera will be 70,000 residents (may go higher with all the high density apartments going up) so it may actually displace Melbourne as the hub of the county when that happens. We used to live in Sunset Lakes so also love the MI area!

Viera West has a combination of Melbourne and Rockledge addresses, kind of. But it is absolutely unincorporated and not part of Melbourne.

      Hi Nikki,
In every city, there are both favorable and less favorable areas. While I can't provide my personal opinion due to Fair Housing Laws, I can offer some resources to help you make an informed decision:

Only reason to live in Palm Bay: you can't afford Melbourne.

I have lived in Brevard County for 25 years and am moving back to Palm Bay because I liked it and made out much better in Palm Bay during rainy and hurricane season. Lost my home in Melbourne during flooding from hurricane Irma and they still are not addressing what needs to be done to prevent such disaster. I lived in Palm Bay area back in 2004 when we had 4 hurricanes in 6 weeks and did much better than I have in Melbourne each storm season.

A big difference between Melbourne and Palm Bay: POLITICS! Palm Bay is the liberal, woke bastion of Brevard County. Melbourne and most of the rest of Brevard is politically and socially more conservative.
