    Ben! I live in the Melbourne area but have several friends that live in The Palm Bay Area and I have to agree with your comparisons. You have your facts 100% spot on. Both are great places to live and offer a variety to fit everyone’s needs. I95 makes it’s so easy to travel between the two cities so it’s easy to enjoy what both have to offer. The footage you shot was great and you have some of my favorite hang out spots in the such as El Leoncito in Viera and Off the Traxx in downtown Melbourne!
    Keep up the great work 👍🏼👍🏼

      Thank you Kimberly 😊 They both are great places. It just depends on what kind of lifestyle you’re looking for. I’m very happy to hear El Leoncito in Viera is one of your favorite hang out spots 😉 It’s the best restaurant in the county (but of course I’m a bit biased here) 😁 Thanks again for watching.

      @@TeflonTrench I'm over in Sebring, now. It has it's charm (and crime) but if you want a nice, clean, modern and well planned out town to live in, It's Palm Bay. I like the SE part. Big lots and great housing all back in there with not much by way of loud anything. Hop on San Filippo and cruise in to town or blast over to the Melbourne beaches on the 95. Some people say it's boring but I've lived in some real gritty places before and to me it's super chill for how big it actually is. I hope it hasn't changed much cause I'm going back

      I would agree that Viera is kind of it's own thing. @melbournefloridaliving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to hear you love to live in Palm Bay. It really depends on what people are looking for. That’s what I tried to bring across. Like you said, Palm Bay is more laid back and I get plenty of people looking for that. But there are also plenty of people wanting their mall, restaurants and bars in golf-cart distance 😉 People like different things and I think that’s ok. That’s why it’s great that we have Melbourne and Palm Bay right next to each other because everyone can find the perfect place for themselves. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it!

    This video is accurate for the most part but very misleading in other aspects. Just as an example the shopping in Palm Bay vs Melbourne. Technically the shopping at hammocks landing is in west Melbourne but what you failed to say was that the shopping center is on the boarder of Palm Bay and is very centralized for both cities to enjoy. Palm Bay and Melbourne are both very small towns so saying one has this or that and the other doesn’t really means nothing do to the the size of both neighboring towns.

    • @melbournefloridaliving
      @melbournefloridaliving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. I assume you live in Palm Bay 😀 While I didn’t go into any detail about Hammocks Landing, I did say “and you can quickly drive to all the fun things to do because I-95 connects Palm Bay to Melbourne, Florida.” So while it would’ve made the video way too long to go into detail about each area, I did point at the fact that Melbourne and Palm Bay are well connected. I work both in Melbourne and Palm Bay. So I tried to be as objective as possible. So overall, comparing the entire city of Palm Bay (not just NW) and the entire city of Melbourne, I think it’s fair to say that in Melbourne you will have a much closer proximity to shopping malls than in Palm Bay. Thanks again for watching and pointing that out.

      It’s faster and easier to get to the beach from Melbourne because Melbourne has 3 bridges connecting it to the barrier island where the beaches are. Depending on where in Melbourne you are it’s anywhere from 8-25 minutes. Both cities are located on the Indian River, which divides the mainland from the barrier island with Melbourne Beach, Satellite Beach, etc.

      The traffic to Disney is overall pretty good. My wife and I have annual passes, so we go quite often. Just take 528 to 417. Takes about an hour. They’re building a monorail now, connecting Cape CANAVERAL with Orlando, Universal and Disney World. So you could also park at the Station and take the monorail.

      Yes, especially the north-western area of Palm Bay is super close to the Hammock Landing mall (some just a few minutes away). So if you want shopping and dining close by but want the Palm Bay prices, then I'd look there. If you want more of a rural feel then I'd go further south. Of course the downside of Palm Bay is that overall the school ratings are much lower. But if that's not important for you then it could be a great alternative to Melbourne.

    Will be moving down from NY. Been to Palm Bay just today to look around, and met house builders. Is Palm Bay gay friendly at all?

    House prices are going through the roof in Melbourne. If you were selling downunder you'll be getting a nice fat commission on the average price $941.000 Dec Qtr.

      G'day and cheers mate but this isn't downunder. It's Melbourne, Florida. Sounds pretty nice though. Hooroo.

      They are very different. Obviously. I read the other day that Palm Bay is planning on building a downtown area by the Marina area. Plus there are lots of new constructions being built in Palm Bay. So it does have a lot of potential for the future. But I do live in Melbourne myself and I love it here.

      Thank you 😊 Yeah this one turned out really good and the drone footage gives a nice perspective of the area. I’ll use drone footage in all my videos from now on. It helps a lot.
