It was a matter of weeks before ha passes away. He was due to play Dublin but fell ill and never completed the show and hence never sang The parting glass again.

I don't know the date of this final concert but I do know he passed away a couple days after his birthday on Dec. 4th 2009. He was the last surviving brother of The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. Was always my favorite & will miss him always. I will always miss all of them. I grew up on their music thanks to my mom.
