2012 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the 5.0. She has 175,000 plus and use Valvoline high mileage Synthetic 5-20. I also run Sea Foam in the tank every oil change. She runs great and love this truck. The thing is oil change and I do it when she hits 50%. While the oil still looks good I just do it anyway. As my father said when I was a kid (I'm 50 now) you take care of your vehicle she will last forever. I also wash her weekly and more often in winter because of the salt. And she doesn't consume any oil at all. I also get about 20 MPG on the freeway. In the city I get about 17 MPG.

Using a product like Lucas in an engine that requires oil pressure to operate the cam phasers is a terrible idea. I'd use either the factory recommended 5w20 or 5w30 at the thickest. Also the first gen Coyotes didn't have an oil consumption issue, it was the 18-20 models. I have a 2012 Super crew platinum with the 5.0 and I get 22.5 mpg on the highway at 65 mph. Not going off of the dash, but actual math. At 155k I use 5w20 fully synthetic oil and 87 octane fuel without any issues. The 5.0 actually gets excellent fuel mileage. If I slow down to 60 mph I can achieve 25-26 mpg!

My 2013 f150 5.0 just passed the 250,000 mark. No oil consumption issues that I can tell. My main worry at this point are the brakes and all bearings. I'll be systematically replacing all that, or checking it. The thing is a solid truck and a highway queen for sure. I am a bit nervous on 1,000 mile trips, but the thing settles in and impresses me every time. It's a solid, good truck for sure. The only major I've done on it is I replaced my transmission. It shifts beautifully now.

May 14 Platinum 5.0 is currently at 192K. I’ve had since she’s had 91K. No problems whatsoever other than the dreaded lead frame. Bought it on Amazon for 150 bucks and was about a 3 hour job. Other than that, it’s been flawless. Oil changes at 50% oil life, spark plugs and coil packs at 50-60k intervals, air filter change every oil change, fuel filter change every 50K intervals. Normal maintenance. At 200K, I’m gonna do a new front end, and also replace the rubber bushings in the rear.

I sold a 95 F-150 with the old school 302 with well over 300k miles. So hope to get the same with my new to me 2011 coyote with 130k. Only issue so far is oil leak. Pretty simple diy project replaced the oil pan gasket fixed it right up $60 or so. I run regular gas, which is what the book says. I will not own a turbo.
