Variable ND is a gamechanger.
I tested a Sony Burano (v1.00 firmware) demo camera, and when I used the Internal vari ND I got Magenta tint in my image. This was difficult to remove in the blacks. After asking Sony about it, they replied that they know it and are investigating about it. Do you Alister Chapman know anything about it?
Will the Burano have S16 mode (4K or 2K crop?)
No IBIS for slow motion?? That’s a huge let down. They better fix that in a firmware

What's the difference between the ND filters and Variable? Is Variable an "electronic" ND?
Yes, it is electronic and therefore can be used without steps.
It is an ND filter that optically reduces the light transmission, so the light reduction process is not electronic, but the darkness of the filter material is controlled electronically allowing for precise control over the amount of ND.
does this camera have an IR filter
Yes it does have an IR cut filter as well as an optical low pass filter.
@@alisterchapman thanks for the response alister! Some early previews mentioned IR pollution, should we expect that to be resolved by the time production units ship? I have a pre-order and that specific issue is the only cause for concern i have about this camera.

@@tommypickles1338 Lol! Honestly, I don't think it could be that complicated.
Some of Sony's hybrid cameras already offer some of these features, as well as competitors' small body cinema cameras. Sony would just need to find a way to keep the body compact.
If it's not that complicated, you should reach out to Sony and help get this to us! If Sony did this, every single one of their previous cameras would become obsolete. You can't have your cake and eat it too. @@wilfredoyvanessa
