I love when this type of super serious renaissance painting depicting such overly dramatic poses and expressions is reinterpreted into a silly "day in the life" scenario like friends watching their cats wrastle.
It’s why I loved those early covid lockdown Museum Challenge things where people remade famous pieces of art with whatever they had in their homes, similar vibe

I'm jealous lol; my art school hasn't taught me anything yet o.o i'm learning but it's only bc I'm doing stuff outside of it like schoolism and life drawing. I rewound the first part of her piece several times in delight at her method of re-composing the piece :D

my favorite constant in every episode is someone complimenting julia doing something and she just goes “oh i redo that” it kills me every time
The best version of that is the Castlevania episode where she digitally burns her Alucard portrait. It gets me everytime

Shockingly enough the theme it depict is as far from homoerotic, it's Vergil and Dante, that's the two looking on with disgust and the person eating the other is most likely Ugolino gnawing on the man who betrayed him for all eternity. No clue how the artist got such strong homoerotic vibes out of that

Good GOD karina is such an artist. The level she went to to rearrange the entire piece but still fit all the components in, and make it a stunning composition as well, is incredible.

Jacob's drawing is one of my favorite representations of the Drawfee crew, ever. Just wonderful.
1. I really do hope they get the Jacob drawing framed.
2. Nathan, as per usual, goes hard. He can take anything and make it work.
3. Nathan doesn't understand the difference between geese and ducks, Karina had a BIG BRAIN moment and produced an amazing piece of art.

watching nathan's drawing i can already tell this is one of tbose episodes i'm going to have to compliment all the drawings. the amount of drawfee character nathan was able to fit into his is soo cool and the composition feels balanced and if it weren't for the copyrighted characters i would absolutely buy this poster (actually jacob's drawing would also make a fantastic poster)
my goodness the creativity karina put forth to completely transform the painting is astounding! the fountain itself is very satisfying to look at and combined with the joy of seeing crowned drawfee champions schmando being discretely romantic makes this, well, i would say favorites of the episode but clearly this episode is simply all bangers!!! jacob hit the nail on the head when he said it gave adventure game vibes, i agree and am awaiting the schmando point and click adventure game.
djskljdjlaka julia just perfectly rounded out the episode, a room full of vampires? we as drawfee fans are spoiled today. something about watching julia paint is very relaxing, it's all done very confidently and turns out nicely when it's finished. i especially love the shading on the pants the the pull of the fabric on the center guys' elbow, it's really satisfying to look at. i feel like this is a segment i'll revisit a bunch because there's soo much to absorb in regards to digital painting! man this episode was really for the fans. a surprising amount of wholesomeness given the paintings original energy.

I love how they refer to Danté and Virgil as "This Gay Couple" and in two pieces they drew them as THE Drawfee gay couple, (and in one they were Jacob and Julia who are the most aggressively Bi-energy straight-presenting couple ever)

Everyone did such great work on this episode. Julia's is so beautiful and painterly, Karina's idea with reworking the composition is so fascinating and creative, Nathan's take with the Drawfee character poll battle is inspired and just awesome work pulling everyone's different characters together, and Jacob's drawing might be one of my favorite things this show has ever produced because it's just so funny and close to home.

Nathan's is like... the pinnacle of the "recreate a famous image with characters from another IP" thing that drives so many fly-by-night merch stores, I love it so much. And yes, I would absolutely buy a poster of "Schmidt and Nando in Hell" if you can clear it with legal.

As soon as Julia said "I think I did what the fans wanted me to do" I started chanting "ROOM! FULL! OF! VAMPIRES!" and I'm so glad she didn't disappoint. And my favorite part of a Julia speed draw is always when the lines go from red to black and suddenly the colors all look incredible and this one was no different.
this might be a new favorite episode for me!! lots of inside jokes and running gags, with genuinely fun, interesting, and UNIQUE takes from everyone on this classic painting. I loved it!

I really appreciate drawfee for stuff like Jacobs "some days are for trying something new and some are for having fun" - I used to have a very disordered relationship to art. Drawfee has really helped me kick back and actually enjoy what I'm doing more often rather than grinding it constantly

Karina really popped off with this one, the way she translated the foreground figures into the fountain... it's so awesome you can see all the shapes in the final piece and at the same time the new lineart is so intricate
Karina blew my mind with the sheer amount of creativity, technical knowledge, and skill she leveraged in this one.

Karina demonstrating how Art Smart she is and turning this painting into a beautiful fountain… I had to remind myself she’s also the person who found The Grinch x The Oncler in upside-side down Donald Duck once. Her power is simply too much.

This hit me just right. I was internally screaming HECK YEAH through the episode at every new turn. This was an amazing ep idea, please do it again!
Here's a brief list of things that I found especially delightful:
Jacob: The Producers were super cute and I loved seeing Jacob's process of simplifying their forms. The Drawfee crew watching them are.very iconic. Also ded Nathan RIP.
Nathan: Working from the then-ongoing Drawfee characterTwitter poll was so inspired and holy shit the result is amazing. There's so much humor and warmth in the piece, and it's a rich tapestry of Drawfee history. Also, Kermit's meaty butt and thighs killed me.
Karina: Subverted expectations, turning a violent horny painting into a chaste fairytale scene. Building a duck fountain from the naked male forms was a stroke of genius. Also, holy fuck the different studies she did of the original. That's art, baby.
Julia: Return to A Room Full of Vampires, such a classic but with a fresh new twist. I'm just blown away by how she clothed the naked men - the folds, the shapes, the tension in the fabric was delicious. Made them look sexier in my opinion. Also, the shading, oh man.
This might be my favorite collective four pieces they’re ever done. Clear that they’re consistently improving. Fantastic

Honestly.... $15 tier JUST for that poster is still a super reasonable steal of a price. Honestly though, they all killed it. This episode was amazing and they all really showed their inner mental workings with their process. I appreciate speed draws because it really gives them a chance to flex and show off how skilled they all are as artists.

Nathan wtf, that was just perfection. The background, the colors and the characters were just delightful
Um. This is for me. Everything about this is for me. This all feels very 2019-2020s Drawfee to me, and I really needed it. So much work went into each of these as well as the discussion and video editing. I'm really glad Jacob and Nathan had a lot of fun with it. I really enjoyed Karina's sweet instead of horny (When you say "this is for someone," this Schamndo is for me). I admire and am in awe at Julia's handsome men in beautiful clothes and lighting. I love for the Drawfee crew to do what they love, even if it's for someone and that someone is not me. You are actual people in a rough, competitive, and precarious field, and I hope you can draw what you love as much as possible. With that said.... all four of these were the epitome of what I love about drawfee: an adorable-silly, a hilarious-silly, a sweet-beautiful, and a jaw-dropping. And those aren't assigned categories. Nathan's recreation of his artic-themed childhood art is jaw-dropping. Jaboc's Legsi fan-art of her sitting on a rooftop gazing out into the world is sweet-beautiful. All of you drawing elephants in space is adorable-silly! Julia and Karina teasing Nathan about "what's going on with this horse?" "This one?" "This one." "Nathan, this one?" "Nathan!" is still hilarious to me.
Sorry, I guess this ended up as a love-letter to Drawfee. I hope you, the humans behind the TH-cam channel, are doing well and making an emotionally, and joyfully sustainable life for yourselves.

I cannot wait for her to see this episode so I can explain the years of Drawfee lore I have to explain to make sense of Nathan's piece.
My years of committing useless things has all been for this moment.
Only 5 and a half minutes in and Jacob's drawing has me CACKLING. I am IN TEARS.
The first two drawings alone could be posters I would buy in a heartbeat!
And Karina's approach was both incredibly impressive and just... Brilliant!
And Julia's, right before she started painting when she just had the flat colors it looked so much like a stained glass window to me, I'd have loved to see it go that route
This episode was just sublime. You all should be so proud. Story time: I went to a major professional opera last week. It was well-sung, and a literal spectacle in several parts, but the music was not memorable, and the set was too busy and the stagecraft too exposed. Not for a second did I lose myself in the performance. (I have degrees in theater and music and am a classical singer, so I’m a tough crowd, but still.) This episode, which is all process and work and improv, was exciting and fascinating and the art you all created is amazing. Creative, thoughtful, imaginative, and efficient in all the right ways and none of the wrong ones. I lost myself in YOUR creative performance. Thank you so much!

THESE ARE ALL SO GOOD!!! AHHH!! I feel like Drawfee just flexed on all of us. And themselves. Jacob's!! The entire style adaptation and the halftone comic feel... and then Nathan??! Just all the Drawfee references and the Todd looks incredible. And KARINA??? WTH?? You turned the pose into a FOUNTAIN?? (If she fully colors the piece I want to see it ahhhh) And then Julia just... the folds, the shading, the VAMPIRES. Y'all, standing ovation, these are all incredible. SPEED DRAWING SUGGESTION: advertisement posters for a nonsense product, like a yell-powered bicycle or a handheld toaster, idk but I know y'all would have fun, and Nathan would riff SO hard.
Karina's technical knowledge / experience was amazing to watch, makes me want to learn how to draw with that kind of eye

omg within 5 minutes I was crying laughing at Jacob's, it was beautiful and the girls are so funny in it. Nathan's is just brilliant, perfect representation of the characters polls and I particularly loved the fighty colors. Karina said she didn't want to do a horny one, and yet she kind of made my heart horny (because it's really cute??) and the composition finagling was so smart. I'm just obsessed with Julia's room full of vampires, I love the style of painting she did and they're all so handsome, so thank you for that.
