Also I feel like during the final ball off it was actually a situation where Julia challenge Nathan because she was like "All I've had for the last 10 years is this money in the only accomplishments have truly ever had or when I beat you in bowling and you may have become a professional but I'll prove to you I'm still good at at" and then Nathan was like "All right old friend you're on" then he threw on purpose so that he could show her life is about more than money it's about happiness...

The fact that Nathan was one space away from retirement when he got to go bowling duel again is just the best. Like, Nathan's character in that game was a guy who started out life doing nothing but getting in debt due to bowling duels and then did nothing but reject any form of life-improvement up until he got financial counseling with his dog, and then, at like 60 years old, right before he retires from the bowling game for good, he challenges the person who he kept losing to all those years ago. Literally so much can be read into that from a character study perspective, this truly is the best game ever.
It's proof that ANY game can be fun with friends, especially when you can literally make a comedy/drama movie with plot and a whole arc out of a single session!
And then he lost.

@@beepboprobotsnot3748 I like to think he let Julia's elderly character win just for the sake of fun. She may have beaten him before but now she's frail and he wouldn't enjoy demolishing her with his 60 years of experience. Like a moment of clarity for him.
Then again, Julia's character could just be THAT good at bowling that she can beat seasoned professionals effortlessly.
I remember typing the "why not click the player 2 part" on stream and Jacob responding "I'm going to murder you." I was both smiling and scared at the same time
Funny thing is that even after they added the ability to rename characters, it's still not intuitive.
You have to be in edit mode, press up twice, press Enter, then you can type a new name. It won't let you just click the name field.

You know how Fire Punch had a chapter so depressing that like four other manga took a hiatus because of how hard it hit the different writers? (if you didn't know, that happened and it ruled) That's what the crushing defeat at the hands of Julia would do to the world

Being from the Midwest, especially from a small town, it's always baffling to hear that there's people who are in their late 20s and early 30s that just don't have their license or straight up don't know how to drive a car. Like not even because of a lack of public transport in the major cities because the major cities do have public transport, but from the perspective of where I grew up, the nearest grocery store was the next town over, 30 miles away, if you couldn't drive you couldn't buy food

Nobody ever said Nathan had it easy. Hustled out of his college fund in a series of unfortunate bowling matches, he was unable to graduate. For years he lived hand to mouth, living off the prize money from various bowling tournaments, but his regular losing streaks made this difficult. Many times throughout his life his friends and family told him to quit bowling and find a “real job,” but he never gave up. Some say Bowling was his life. Others said he just kept at it to spite the people who he believed robbed him of a future. He never married, his poor fortunes and unstable lifestyle making the chance to hold down a partner nearly impossible. The one bit of joy in his life came when he adopted his beloved pet dog (some say he simply got the dog as a scapegoat to inherit the substantial debts he had at the time.) Shortly thereafter, his fortunes would change. He managed to make enough to pay off his debts. Perhaps the highlight of his life was near the end of his career when he challenged his longtime rival Julia, whom he lost most of his college fund to. Julia even came out of retirement to bowl Nathan. After decades of training and devotion to the sport…Nathan lost to Julia and would never bowl again. Thus ends the tragic tale of Nathan.

I have mixed emotions because I love watching the drawfee crew play games but at the same time the game of life gives me intense dread
