Nathan! Naaathan...Nathan.......nnnnnnnnathan. Someone come get him and tell him how much he's been killing it! I regularly watch old drawfee episodes and while I've always enjoyed his style, the level up on the renders has been insane the last year.
Nathan: “Oh, I dunno, I’m just a bb..” then daddy smacks us with this. He really killed it.
to be fair to nathan, julia did his renders since he was busy with cartoon hell, not because he couldn't do them
but yeah this one was great!
Idea: Everyone draws a simple background. Then you trade backgrounds with another person and they draw a character in that background or existing in that world.
Julia would spend 10 hours on the background and 30 minutes on the character, the rest of the crew does the reverse 😂

No joke, the "delete your art" phrase has been stuck with me since the beggining and everytime i get frustrated or kinda block with a piece i hear them sayin "delete your art!" in my head and just start all over again it helped me so much. I'm more confident with my process and not afraid to just start from scratch or seeing it as "failure" so thank you for that!

Same! It’s been helping me in my graphic design course, sometimes you just need to let things go, and explore a bit. Holding on too tightly to the idea of what you wanted something to be can be a detriment to your work. Starting over can be really refreshing, you just have to remind yourself that your previous work isn’t ‘wasted’, because you can learn from it

I feel like ever since Drawfee became it's own entity yalls like, art appreciation and adventurous side has really grown, I guess that's what happens when you're allowed to sorta focus on stuff you want to do for a while. Love it, love yall
I feel the same, Drawfee's always been great, but it's been so noticeable how their art has evolved and their comedy/conversations flow more naturally since they've been independant. They just seem overall more at ease and open to experimentation, it's lovely to see!

@@Mostbee drawfee used to be owned by a company called collegehumor, all four of them were employees for it (or its sister site dorkly in julia's case), and in early 2020 the company went under. the four of them were able to take drawfee and launch it as its own independent company from there, and the rest is history
@@Mostbee iirc drawfee started as a side programme of college humor (all of them were artists at college humor, except karina i think, who was freelancing) and after ch laid almost all their staff off in early 2020 they had to go through some legal issues in order to aquire the drawfee brand and make it their own

@@disrespecc9678 From what I understand, it's the (usually joking/light-hearted) idea that when someone misspeaks, it's actually them accidently expressing subconscious thoughts. For example, maybe Julia accidentally said "rending" because she was subconsciously thinking about Pikachu rending flesh from bone while she was consciously speaking about art techniques.

I would like to reiterate my firm belief that the dog in Julia's piece - the one Jacob redrew - is called Blurf and is a good dog who deserves all the treats.
If it's not the name, it's definitely the sound that good boi makes.

Also, they KILL IT when they work on each others' works. So good.
Cool tip for CSP artists who accidentally color or draw on the wrong layer: go to the select menu and click color gamut, then use the eyedropper to select the color you want to move. It'll select everything that is that color and then you can cut/paste the selection to a new layer. Its got tolerance settings too, so it even works for more painterly inks.
I read that and my mind went "CSP? Wud dat? Gotta be SCP" and just read the whole comment very confused but entertained xD

Honestly, if they havent done it yet, I think that an awkward middle pokemon evolution for Pokémon that only have two evolutions would be a fun idea. For example, Magikarp - Julia abomination - gyrados

They did that kinda on a stream recently. They drew the level 3 evolution for the new starters, then Julia cam in with the level 2 evolution haha

This episode made me so happy. Nathan's Jacob fursona looked like the way manga covers are colored sometimes, I absolutely ADORED it. Also, he made jacob fursona even hotter than the original somehow 🤣 like seriously, Nathan continues to get better and better all the time and he's honestly SO IMPRESSIVE.
The character arc of this year for Drawfee is all of them switching to Clip Studio, and I am here for it!

Yes. A dragon from each of these guys, in their own interesting style, perhaps adapting randomly chosen or selected by host dragons from mythology or more current fiction if they don't want to make their own from scratch. After all, if you don't have your own dragon, storebought is fine.

I feel like Nathan's art style is getting closer and closer to a special edition RPG manual render-which feels very fitting! I can almost feel the stats for a hyena-born necromancer.
I was staring at the cube, too. Then Karina mentioned it and I was like “Aww leave Nathan alone”; even though I felt just as guilty 😭💀
Love how everyone's piece turned out, everybody killed it as always. Have to give an extra shoutout though to Nathan, because seeing his style progress and seeing him become more confident with experimenting, especially with the more painterly style, has been so lovely to see.
Drawfee truly has the capability of infinite content because whatever they make can still eternally be re-rendered for endless callbacks and joyous times
as usual, everyone really turned it out. as Julia's said before, artists do a thing where they hyperfixate on a specific part of an art piece and this time I was looking at those highlights Nathan drew above the lineart. It's so cool (I will be stealing that technique)

Wow Nathan's render of Jacob's fursona gives it such a different vibe. Jacob's original looked like a hooligan. Someone who causes a manageable amount of trouble. But Nathan's? Nathan's looks straight up like a murderer. He's not sneering at us like he was in the original piece. He's baring his teeth.
Nathan's Hyena render is so texturized and amazing holy shit. I got a little spooked by the ghost friend floating by, though

There truly is no youtube channel like Drawfee. Honestly been the main thing I watch (including TV or movies) for about 4 years now. This is the media that makes me most happy.

GLaDOS let him go because he kept sitting down in testing rooms “just taking a quick break”... for hours, and she was going insane waiting for him to finish the course.
She was just gonna drop him in the incinerator like usual but aperture AIs can detect smells (because *of course* they would) and that’s a LOT of burning hair to deal with.
Once again, watching Nathan’s and haven’t watched the rest yet (I’m sure they’re all amazing but I have to say this). I’m just so obsessed with the painterly direction Nathan’s art has gone in the more recent speed draws. AMAZING job Nathan 😍🥰😍

"Comfort cube" reminds me of a cube a friend gave me. It changes colors when its on and reminded my friend of the Glow Cloud from Welcome to Nightvale, so we dubbed it the Glow Cube.

Great drawings as usual but the true star of the show was Emotional Support Cube, it really stole the show this time and its contribution cannot be overstated.
Nathan really sat down and decided to absolutely POP OFF these past few episodes

nathan's mess of a workspace is honestly modern art, it speaks about the continuing to work alongside the existence of chaotic real life, how the things that change continuously and make up your past and present (history) and the different presences that stay beside you throughout good and bad (support cube and anime), can influence or distract depending on the attention you give them literally what am I talking about rn
I've noticed that in basically every episode all 3 or 4 art works all have an interlocking piece even when they aren't in the same room besides obviously the prompt. In this one for example Jacob and Nathan both had a box, Nathan and Julia both had a furry animal, Jacob and Julia both changed the background from day to night. Each piece fits in with the others in one way or another making it all feel cohesive and together even though all of their styles have a strong contrast. And it's like this with every episode I watch. It's such a cool little thing I picked up on, maybe it's obvious idk

Oh, I see we've been visited by Audio Ghost. What a friend he is, I love Audio Ghost. I would like to see the Drawfee Crew draw funny ghosts based on technical difficulties or things that are beyond the control of the technical crew
My favorite detail was the splatter texture used on the skull the hyena has. It sorta tied the smooth texture of the bone to the fur of the hyena. It looked really cool!
i like how when they all like something, they in PERFECT UNISON all go, "awwwhhh" or say the SAME WORDS. i can tell they r good friends behind the camera too.

(psst when you first buy CSP, arrange your workspace and get rid of the tabs that you don't know how to use so that you don't get overwhelmed. put it back when you think you need it.)
I bought CSP last year and then hit a wall with starting to use it for months because I couldn't work out how to arrange my workspace and got overwhelmed, but when I finally went back to it I literally had no problems and just set it up and started drawing immediately. To this day I still don't know what I struggled with the initial time.
Gosh I love the speed draws and just hearing them all just gush at each other. The most serene content.

Drawing idea: everyone does a different panel of a 4 panel comic describing the life of Nathan's support cube.
Added challenge mode: you go in reverse order so every subsequent artist must explain how the previous scene came to be.

Speaking of redoing... I’ve suggested this a couple times in the past, but; Drawing Pokémon Based On Their Names in Other Languages! I recommend you use French names because there’s lots of good ones (Spododo, Wattapik, Herbizzare, Noarfang..)
I would love more of these eps! It’s such a fun idea and so cool to see how much the finish can change and re-invent a design/drawing!

Jacobs fursona drawing is my all-time favorite drawing of his and all of drawfee history honestly. I often go back to that episode and rewatch the whole process
Nathan's art-persona always trips me up - his face looks like such a chibi, and then he does things like show the torso and I'm like why so loooong???

Draw Elden Ring bosses as Looney Tunes characters.
Or, as is always fun: draw Elden Ring bosses from their names only. I'm not far in, but I'd even just love to see what they do with "Death Bird", "Godrick the Grafted", "Ulcerated Tree Spirit", or "Mad Pumpkin Head"
In fact, yeah, give them those ones (I know only one of them is a main boss but, spoilers ya know)
