@@hanswurscht6625 If I understand your question correctly, what it means is that we wake up everyday looking our problems, even the ones that seem beyond us, straight in the eye and developing and applying solutions. When you do this you find so much more meaning in your life, and in a way our lives are fulfilled when we have meaning. The farther we go down this path, the more exciting our adventure becomes because we are living out our lives at the highest possible good that we can. If you constantly face that which terrifies you, there's no possible way for your life to be any more heroic. You truly do achieve the fullness of your capable existence. This can also be seen as a kind of healthy masculinity.
Please note that I don't mean to imply that I'm perfect. This is just what I aim at and it's changed my life completely.

Can you rephrase this in a more candidly way so people of earth understand? Lol this is the type of talk that prevents me from getting into my faith…if this is just how all people of faith talk then I’d rather die not believing anything and just face the consequences for sticking to my gut at least. Like seriously….why can’t ANYONE ever just talk like a normal human being about religion or faith? It doesn’t have to be as if every time you talk about it that you get sent back 2000 years and have to word everything like they did lol idk…I’m being overly harsh I guess..I just wish I could find one like minded person such as myself to talk about faith with but without getting super weird about it.

I came across one of Professor Jordan's videos around 2015. At first, I glanced at his face and suit and thought to myself : There is no way this is worth my time. Then he opened his mouth, and I have no words to describe the enormous impact he had in my development. He was and still is one of the primary father figures I have in my life. This man gave me all the answers I needed in my pursuit of happiness. This man pointed me in all the right directions at the right age. I was 14 then. I am 22 now, I own a car that I bought with cash, I will buy an apartment in cash, I am going to therapy weekly, and I am trying everyday to become a better version of myself. I met the girl of my dreams, and we are going to get married this year. I sincerely wish the best for anyone out there who is struggling. My message is never stop. Life can get better if you put in the work. Stay safe and godspeed!

Some adventures we go through involuntarily. Sometimes we are unable to be prepared, no matter how much we train to be. Taking care of someone for 21 years, then caring for them as you witness their horrific death, all the while experiencing the best and worst of friends and family during the hardest "adventure" of your life brings out a new reality in your personality entirely. You can't leave or escape the removal of your loved one's body, comprehend that they are now in a box, remember all of the important bits for the obit and funeral, help the kids say their good byes, and mourn the loss of the only person you have ever truly been yourself around. The only sanity comes in knowing that they are no longer suffering in excruciating physical and emotional pain and have gone on into heaven, because they believed in Christ's finished work of blood atonement on the cross. So you praise God, and plead with God, thanking Him for finally taking your loved one and asking for comfort through your tears. You know you will never be the same ever again and you will live out the rest of your days trying to honor the time you shared with your one true love.

I agree, face it, whatever it is you're afraid of or challenged by, not to suggest it's easy. I can tell you it will bring up feelings in you you'd generally rather not experience, causing you to want to reflexively avoid/evade the situation, but that's part of the process of getting *through it.* And beyond it. Truly an adventure of the inner kind.
It's my experience, and belief going forward, that these inner adventures produce the eventual experiences of deeper wellbeing, greater competence in engaging life, and developing higher advantages over our previous experience of our self.

      To face your fears ?

    • @larrykiehl2457
      @larrykiehl2457 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@romeowandrainbow1040 If the process of facing one's fears was put in a nutshell, e.g., to simply face one's fears, as it's been put for probably hundreds of years, what's psychologically required to make advances into and through some fearful area of one's life will be overlooked and missed.
It's psychologically more complex and complicated than the simplicity of some nutshell version of overcoming a fear. In my experience, personally and professionally, nearly *everyone* has no clue as to what's actually required in the process of "facing" one's fears as a means to overcome them; it's a central reason why so many new years resolutions fail to come to fruition; people view their giving up as just that, but in actuality they unwittingly weren't willing to face and deal with what comes up in themselves as they attempt to make a change.

    The hero's journey.
We use "hero" a lot in the modern era. To describe common soldiers, police officers and firefighters. To describe teachers. To describe simple parents.
It's over used, the word hero.
Every single person you will ever meet is engaged in a monumental struggle... and the hero is the person who survived their own bad luck and poor decisions with a sense of peace and with an outward affect of positive faith in oneself, and not in a magical sky daddy.
I admire Dr. Peterson, immensely, but I'm sensing he is struggling, himself (and why shouldn't he be, what with the plain persecution he has faced).
I hope he keeps fighting -- not just the woke mongers, but also against the basic human response to seek comfort from any and all who may offer support and encouragement.
He seems to be laying down with strange bedfellows of late.

I have an intense fear of frogs, and I live in a tropical climate surrounded by nature - frogs are everywhere. The sudden, intense panic is what I’m actually afraid of, so I avoided any possible encounter with the hoppy trigger and if one did surprise me, it caused a full flight response. I was so sick of being controlled by something so harmless. My husband told me to raise a tadpole and expose myself every day. Then, months later, a little frog was trapped on our porch. Something came over me and I pick it up in my hand and held it for about 10 minutes before letting him go outside. That experience was possible because of the voluntary exposure, and it definitely didn’t cure my phobia, but now I know I CAN have a pleasant experience with a frog. Now I know I CAN be brave and not succumb to panic. It’s a silly example, but he’s right - voluntary exposure did transform me in some way. 🐸

We have a similar disposition and personality type in that I don't like dealing with aggressive, rude or pushy people. Might I suggest that to people like you and I these are the "sharks" we have to confront. By confront I mean not argue with them but deal with them on a day to day basis as these are the majority of people we will need to interact with on a given day.

Having faith in the objective and subjective plan(s), keeping focus n' composure through the trials of stimuli. The practical satisfies the ideals tethered to truth. Subjective plans lead to relative to perspective results, results may vary, apply wisdom carefully, do not tread lightly, tread authentically.

I think what Jordan is hinting at here is exposure therapy. The more that you encounter what you're afraid of, the less fearful you become because voluntary confrontation imparts a desensitization effect over time.

Maybe try to look upwards when you speak of other people's adventures. "If you are meditating and the devil appears, make him sit and meditate with you" On the birthday of a Man who went beyond heaven and hell, I'd like to say thank you Jordan, I dread to think where the world would be without you.

It's crazy and insane, and inane, that some people don't even listen to him, but just judge him based on other people's judgments. He has so much wisdom and expertise! You actually do yourself a disservice if you never expose yourself to what this man has to say about psychology, the mind, and how to create a purposeful life.
