    I normally don’t like van setups when you can’t get to the main part from the cab, but I really like this. I think part of the reason is there’s still an open area between the two. Beautiful!

      I wished I had seen this before taking mine out last week. I will be putting safety first so metal struts going in place. I want to get through to cab, but with safety first.

    • @tochriss
      @tochriss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've always wondered about flying stuff in the event of a crash. I think I'll keep my baulkhead but put an access door in that opens swinging into the back with a big lip around the edge to stop it getting pushed into the cab.

    I have watched hundreds of Van Life vídeos.. I’m obsessed! Your van is fabulous, great design and lots of sensible advice and workarounds instead of complex installations. Also yours is the only one that has ever mentioned the importance of keeping the bulkhead for safety. My son-in-law is a fireman and has witnessed tragedies from seemingly innocuous items on the back seat of a car that become missiles in an accident. Can you imagine what would happen in a van conversion?! Especially those magnetic knife racks that are so popular. Yours is still open at the top and access is important too for a quick getaway but have you considered attaching bifold shutters? They would look good.

    Everything is original, spacious and bright. The paintings on the walls give you the feeling that you are in a room in an ordinary house. The shower is present when it is needed, otherwise it does not occupy the space of the van. Very well thought out: comfort from simplicity. Congratulations. BIG LIKE !

  • @LilithsOwn303
    @LilithsOwn303 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    5:04 Switch under the tablet is not practical if you want to wash your hands. A foot operated switch would be much easier and saves water.
    The magnetical screen between van and driver's seat is very well thought of!
    5:24 You could always put up a large pump-thermos on your kitchen-counter they can contain between 1,7 and 2 liters of water and they keep it really hot for about 12 to 15 hours, that will save you even more, because you have to heat up water far less times.
    9:40 the spice rack is cute and especially the little magnet idea. Also nice that the pipes hold lights.
    14:19 Smart idea to have the possibility to make the bed larger!
    At the start and at the end of the clip you show your shower, nicely solved, but you can put the smaller full bucket (from where the spray head draws its water as far as I can see), outside the curtain (over the top of it), so it will be more comfortable and you will have more room to stand in the bigger bucket part. Just give it a try... :)

    You can have a larger slewing/pivoting table strong enough to stand on. Hang the table diagonally from where it's mounted. Have a painted white backbone pipe mounted to the front of the bed garage by the corner of a seat. Have a second perpendicular pivot pipe mount (threads into the backbone pipe and bottom of the closest table side. Lubricate threads) under the longer oval table. The thicker the pipe, the more support for the table. And you can make it rotate tightly on it's mount.

    Congrats on a very neat conversion. I love that it’s beautiful but practical and retains an uncluttered, open feel. Interesting that you chose to store the loo inside, but no room for the coolbox near the kitchen. I presume you move it before cooking. Are you happy with that decision?

    Underneath my built in counter, but movable, 2 burner propane stove, will be an 8' tall silverware drawer. With a cutting board. Take that out and underneath it is a 2 burner thinner than 3" induction stove making it a 4 burner kitchen. Mounted on the outer edge of the silverware drawer is silverware.

    Rather than close off the front, has *anyone* ever devised a solution to insulating the cab area so the front chairs can be rotated and used as seating without the heat/cold issues?
    Like, insulate the headliner and create some sort of insulating pad/panel for the dash, windows, doors and below the seats [skirts? ]...
