I have owned Gibson and Fender and Ibanez and Washburn and PRS and Yamaha but I just picked up a Epiphone 50’s Les Paul gold top 😎 definitely impressed with it 🥂
I Just bought this very same guitar and I'm more than happy with it... By the way, I really like your playing style. New subscriber here. Greetings from Chile!
I've got an Epiphone LP 1960 tribute which I purchased in 2012. The build quality, playability & sound are second to none. It goes to show you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a great guitar.
Wonderful playing as usual! I feel every guitarist needs to own a Les Paul, wether the original or something cheaper. I got myself a Fazley (one of the many cheap clones out there) earlier this year after deciding an Epiphone didn't really deliver anything extra. I do like the finish on yours though!
Great playing and great sounding guitar, brother! 🎸🔥👊😀 I feel the same as you do about Gibsons; while I love them, in the past two decades I couldn't realistically fork out the high prices they continued to charge for them for QC that was questionable, at best. For a time in the 1990's, Epiphone's Elitist and MIJ models were rivaling, if not bettering, Gibson in terms of all around quality and playability, and as such, Gibson stepped in and stopped production on many of them. Gibson is finally improving now that their financial restructuring and change in hierarchy are completed and in place, so we'll see how much better they fare moving forward; improvements aside, they still have a little ways to go, IMO. Meanwhile, Epiphone has again stepped up to the plate with the Inspired By Gibson range and have really knocked it out of the park! I own a 2020 Les Paul Special, which is now my #1 go-to guitar, and I also own an equally sweet 2020 SG Standard, which is based on the 1966 Gibson SG with batwing pickguard. Both of these, but especially the LP Special give you great quality at a price that doesn't break the bank!
Check out a video Jeff Skunk Baxter Musicians Hall of Fame Part 2. He pulled a guitar out of a dumpster and recorded in the studio. He loved cheap guitars and would work on them In the parking lot then record on famous albums. I own six Gibsons and several Fenders. I picked up a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster on sale at Sweetwater recently just to keep in open G tuning then I planned on buying an American Pro ll tele. I’m saving my $1700. The CV is everything I had hoped my Baja would be but wasn’t.
What's crazy is to think about what $650 would have been back in the 60s when my Dad paid less than $200 for the early 60s Jazzmaster I learned on. What do you think, 20 bucks? LOL

The latest Epiphones have been very impressive. Thanks for watching.
That guitar sounds great Leonard! You pull a nice round tone out of it. I just bought an "Insprired By" Epi Les Paul Jr, and I love it.
It does seem the Epiphone imports have upped their game. They tend to need a bit of setup work, but that’s to be expected. Enjoy yours!

Thank you my friend. And a big thanks for subscribing.
That was great playing, very nice guitar. Thanks.
Thanks so much.
Brilliant playing.
Great guitar.
Forget the Gibson comparisons.
Ignore the price and just say that it's a great guitar in its own right.
Thanks so much and I agree, just play what sounds good and feels right.
Love mine and added Faber hardware. Great playing!
Nice. Thanks for watching.

Absolutely. 😎
That just proves that 90% of Tone is in the fingers wonderful tasty playing as always
Thank you. 😎
That’s a really nice looking and sounding guitar. Great playing as usual! Darn good price point too!
Play on.
Thanks. Yeah, the imported Epiphones have upped their game.

Thanks. Yeah I’m partial to the goldtop. Always reminds me of early Freddie King. 😊

I’m with you. Epiphone is doing a lot things right these days.
Stay tuned. I’ll be reviewing the Les Paul Special in a couple of weeks.

@@leonardgriffieblues5845 I just Google it, $31.50. Lol. But a guitar costing $31.50 in the 1960’s was nowhere near the quality of that Epiphone.
awesome which squire did u get?? 60s??
@@soofitnsexy 50’s, still have it, still in open G. Butterscotch and black like Keef.
