First DONT get a cheap steel string acoustic. Acoustics are harder to play than electrics.
Second get a bundle for beginners from brands like squire by fender or Epiphone by Gibson. They are great brands and I started on an epiphone.
Then get some lessons from a friend or a local music shop. Alternately you could pick an online lesson thing. I would recommend Guitar Super System I have not used it, but the guy who makes it, Music Is Win, seems to know what the heck he’s doing.

@@Plumbtired @temseegee is right, you should start with a brand starter pack, epiphone or squier, and then I can advice you starting learning basic chords. Classical guitar is easier than acoustic to start with too ( as electric ). After the basic chords you could try to sing and play together and then practice :)
