I see a lot of comments on the difficulty of these pieces. These are intermediate electric guitar solo's, but that doesn't mean that every intermediate guitar player can play them. It's hard to obtain an advanced level in every style. Guitar is so versatile, but that is also what makes it so great and gives you a lifetime of opportunities to learn and explore!

I see myself as an intermediate rock player and I think I could learn most of the solos if I gave them enough time. A lot of classical stuff that you might play would probably be much harder for me. I used to play folk fingerstyle but that was long time ago so I struggle with songs I use to play with ease.
@@stf259 I agree. I've been playing about 4 years now, started using a pick about a year and a half ago and i consider myself at the beginning stages of intermediate. I could play most of these songs but and i understand a lot of how they're put together, but just saying I could play it doesn't mean it's going to sound even close to how it should. I noticed several parts that while I could play the notes at the right speed, I don't quite have the control and sustain of every note yet.

This is super useful for when I don't know what to play
Thank you very much to the author for this video, without it I would have continued to play from time to time, remaining at the same level, but a couple of days ago I came across it and immediately decided: “I’m taking a week off and during this week I’ll learn all 20 solo from this list." Three are already ready)))
Wow 😮 that was quite amazing. Intermediate level? 🤔 Some parts yes, other parts no (for me, at least) but it’s always good to have something to strive for, to push you along a bit further on your guitar journey, so thank you for that 🙏🏻
Great video, many great solos in one place with tabs. Subbed and saved to work on them later. As stated by many, intermediate is really subjective. Sometimes a small piece of so called beginner solo can be painful because of odd timing and out of tune bendings. Overally, because of rather slow tempos I call most of these intermediate but for me it is all about playing those bends in tune. Even if you can play absurdly fast and call yourself advanced, a tiny bending mistake can ruin everything you play.

These are great! I just got my guitar out recently after a too long break and am getting pretty good at the Iron Man solo again. These look like they will be fun to learn and are all in one convenient place. Thanks.
The most of them are truly intermediate, and some are in a level that is right before the intermediate level. Great choices, great video, congrats bud!
Spin Doctors is a great addition. Thats some tasty playing for the time period when Grunge was out. He plays through the changes nicely with all those oblique bends. Great job!
I think you need to use 3 fingers on the left hand to beef up the strength on your bend. You are usually using the middle finger, with the help of the 1st finger, and maybe you do that because you fingers are so long, and you just need the space, and don't want to get all tangled up. But the bends are not as stable as they should be or could be. If you could use 3 fingers and still not get tangled up with those big hands, you could gain strength and stability, and then that will give you a platform to be more expressive. Also, try to leave the last note very quickly, like explode off that note to move quickly to the next position on the neck, and arrive early, and restabilize your hand, and get your hand into the perfect position, and then push up with 3 fingers on the bend. Those are my 2 secrets, but I am left handed playing right handed, so I have all the advantage, but I am not as big as you, so I need all that advantage. Those are my secret tricks. Leave early, arrive early, restabilize, get into the perfect hand position to do the bend before you have to do it, so when you do make the bend, it will be as perfect as possible. You make your money in between the last note of the last position, and the first note of the next position. ...that is, during the travel time, when your move your hand. You have to explicitly explode off that last note, and fly to the next note as fast as you can, then stop cold, restabilize, get your hand in perfect position, and then do the bend. It is like 4 things you have to do before you make the bend, but if you do them, you will have better bends every time. Even being left handed, playing right handed, the most important thing to me is that I am ready to do the bend. I need to be in the right place to do that.
Crazy Train is a good gateway to "fast" solos, or solos with fast parts. They sound pretty intimidating but an easier one like Crazy Train helps build confidence

Trop bon ! 🎸🇲🇫
TL;DR: This is intermediate, no advanced techniques or high tempo are used. I see some people disagreeing about this being intermediate, so let me explain a bit without calling you bad (like some probably did in the comments). First of all, to get this out of the way, none of this really is for beginners, attempting to learn these solos as a beginner, when your technique isn't yet quite developed, could be detrimental in the long run, walk before you can run. Some solos use a lot of bending, some have intricacies in rythm, learning them could lead to picking up bad habits. Nothing wrong with being on the beginner skill level, you already have some skills! I think the most important thing to take note of is that intermediate players should get these solos down WITH PRACTICE. That means breaking the solo down, learning the notes, understanding the rythm, the phrasing, the dynamics, the techniques, practicing it slowly first, then putting it all together. These are solos that you should have the required skillset for and be able to learn with practice, not solos you are supposed to nail easily. I think the most "controversial" picks are Crazy train and Final countown. Yes, they are pretty tough and by far the most difficult in this video for most people, but still well within the realms of intermediate level. Crazy train features a lot of tapping and somewhat brisk lines. However, that's tapping just one fret with the right hand and that phrase is all about timing and while tapping potentially could be seen as a more advanced technique, this is entry level of it. Same goes for the trills. The legato run might seem intimidating at first, but it's just the most basic 3-note-per-string scale run and only hammer ons, which for an intermediate should be learnable with practice. Plus some pentatonic licks which most intermediates are already well familiar with. Final countdown comes with some sweep picking with pull-offs, but again, this the easiest exhibit of it, being played only on 2 strings. However, these two definitely are in the upper-intermediate level already. (for the record, the most difficult song I'd still say is top-intermediate level is Far beyond the sun by Malmsteen) Now why this isn't advanced quite yet. People at an advanced level and better can learn a lot of these in just a few sessions, many can probably even sight read it or learn in one sitting, all without getting stuck on anything and definitely not needing to improve at a certain technique to be able to play it. None of these solos use advanced techniques such as fast string skipping, difficult picking patterns, complex rythms, sweep picking, fast alternate picking, two-finger tapping, tap sliding or swift legato sequences. What they do use are techniques intermediate players should be of a solid level at, like bends, simple legato, basic tapping, two-string sweeps, trills, vibrato, slides, double stops, palm muting and such. With that being said, keep practicing and you'll get there over time! If you're intermediate or advanced already, great! Good luck.
Not all solos here are intermediate: there are some piece of cake solos (Wind of Change) as well as pretty hard solos like Crazy Train or The Final Countdown. But yes, most of are intermediate. Good work!
@@Lachemlake7829 I tried recording it double track a couple years ago and sounded very similar. Yet still when I see people playing it they nail the most part of it but they simplify the last run to make it easier and the ones who don't usually get it quite sloppy or with weird timing. It is so difficult to get that last part of the solo like in the studio recording that most Ozzy guitarists (even Randy himself) simplify it so its more confortable to play live, its tricky and quite uncomfortable to play, specially standing up.
I have good news for you, its not dying at all, it just doesn't get endorsed by the industry is all. There are so many crazy good bands and guitarists are out there. Check out Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders, Misha Mansoor of Periphery, Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia, Reba Meyers from Code Orange and many more. Though I agree, they probably do not earn as much as they would if they were out there during the times when industry was milking the guitar music.
I'd like to intrude and recommend my favorite band, Unto others, specially their last album believe in halloween, not much of guitar centered but I really like their music
@@amelveambitzya3592 After your comment I listened to their new album and it is amazing. Thanks for suggesting. The song Why has become very special for me. Solid band man.
Honestly Smoke on the water solo is pretty hard to nail cause there isnt any gain to hide behind and it has specific small phrasings and a lot of the Blackmore traits which make it so interesting yet challenging
Just relearned Hotel California & Smoke on the Water solos after not playing them for years, right before I watched your video. Kudos in the playing, I don't play as clean as you after 2 back surgeries and 13 pieces of titanium in my spine (slight nerve damage in my fret hand) and being over 60. But I do still play them & they sound good enough. 👍
Thank you so much for this! You have chosen some great songs and did them very well! I can't wait for the next time! I have a few more I'd love to see, if you would consider another doing more? Thanks again!
I don't play guitar but this is interesting as I would class some of these among the greatest guitar solos of all time so just shows that a solo doesn't need to be the most difficult to play to be up there with the best!
I think we have a different definition of "intermediate" - nice playing!

Chapeau et Cocorico ! 🎸🇲🇫
1. Stairway to heaven
2. November rain
3. Final countdown
4. Wind of change
5. Crossroads
I appreciate the tabs man. I know those take time to do
Thanks
(for the record, the most difficult song I'd still say is top-intermediate level is Far beyond the sun by Malmsteen)
Now why this isn't advanced quite yet.
Good luck.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I think that can help. Cheers 🥂
Not all solos here are intermediate: there are some piece of cake solos (Wind of Change) as well as pretty hard solos like Crazy Train or The Final Countdown. But yes, most of are intermediate. Good work!
Lol.. Crazy train solo isn't hard, I can play if perfectly and the fact is that I learned 2 years ago only, it takes me 1week to learn the full song.
@@Lachemlake7829 for real?
Never tried it but sounds hard af
I might give it a try thanks man
@@Lachemlake7829 bruh that solo is easy to learn but no one gets it 100% like the original, not even the guy from the video did.
@@leonardomurillo6256 yah that is also true but actually the reason is because it is a double tract and it contains chromatic scale that is why.
Thanks for writing down the scales
You’re welcome!
Such a shame that guitar based music is dying a slow death. Some of my all time favourite songs right there. Beautiful.
At least we have 70 years of stuff to look back on and learn, be grateful and create your own!
@@Litro740 yeah but it would be nice to hear more new stuff come out.
Ty very much for the video, I really appreciate your hard work for tabs and channel itself, I really wanted to see such video these days
Thank you! This is appreciated here
You have passed the audition!
Hero Quest is an Amazing Game!!!! Have had it for 25 years. Now i play it with my kids
Great! Now I realize that after 5 years I'm still a beginner :)
Amazing video, now we want the Advanced Level Solos!
Make a list but they have to be well known solos by well known bands. No obscure crap.
Excellente sélection et tres bonne interprétation. Chapeau l'artiste !
Merci beaucoup ☺️ !
And the outro of all outros as an outro - great!
The Hero Quest Shirt!!!! 😍😍😍😍 Loved this game, bro.
And I still have it!
Excellent choix pour ces solos typées 70's, il y a du pain sur la planche. Merci 😉
Quel est ton solo préféré de la vidéo ? 😁
Brilliant video, such nice playing!!! Also, good selection of solos and the tabs with cords help a lot. Keep it going man!!!🔥
Honestly Smoke on the water solo is pretty hard to nail cause there isnt any gain to hide behind and it has specific small phrasings and a lot of the Blackmore traits which make it so interesting yet challenging
The end run of crazy train is probably beyond intermediate
Génial, je vais essayer d’en repiquer certains
I love the Hero Quest shirt lol Used to play that game all the time
The picking signs!!! so good !! Your picking is so good. Thanks for that! For me, is the only way i can play this solos.
Yes I thought it could improve the learning process
Awesome work, thank you for the tabs and the delightful playing mate.
Thank you so much for this! You have chosen some great songs and did them very well! I can't wait for the next time! I have a few more I'd love to see, if you would consider another doing more? Thanks again!
Super vidéo... Merci pour le taff et pour le choix des morceaux. Spécial dédicace au tee-shirt Hero Quest, ça m'a ramené à l'adolescence...
I don't play guitar but this is interesting as I would class some of these among the greatest guitar solos of all time so just shows that a solo doesn't need to be the most difficult to play to be up there with the best!
The phantom of the opera solo is literally heaven
