So I need a cheap time piece to take apart and power with some tritium for a gift for my chemistry teacher. Im not a watch maker obviously, can anybody give me some advice on how to go about this?
There are plenty of "cheaper" watches out there. Most of the videos on my channel are on the affordable side so maybe go through my catalog of videos and see if something catches your attention. What is the budget your looking at? I can help you better if you tell me your budget.
Wow, I just bought what looked like a nice Seiko SNZG13 from Wish for £54, but immediately got cold feet and cancelled my order. After watching your video, I'm really happy that I did!
I'm curious about what the Seiko case is made out of and if it's any good. If it's actually stainless steel and as thick as the original with the same dimensions it might be a good candidate for an SKX007 mod watch. Aliexpress wants something like $50 for a stainless steel case, bezel and crystal alone not including the movement and everything else you need.
I bought a cheap knockoff watch from Wish once. It worked for several months before it died and did keep accurate time. I ended up gorilla glueing it outside my office and would watch people try to pick it up. At least it was cheap fun.
You can also dispute your purchase through PayPal.. the seller will claim to offer a full refund if you cancel the dispute but don't!!! If you do you cannot reopen your dispute through PayPal, they know this and is why the seller tries to do this, they won't follow through and refund. PayPal will refund your purchase and you don't have to return the counterfeit item... Have already been through this and fortunately although I fell for the cancel my dispute trick, PayPal pulled my funds from a credit card and my credit card company then did the dispute and I was fully reimbursed with 3 days
Thanks for watching! Once I told Wish that the watches I received were fakes they immediately refunded me the money. I asked them how I could send the watches back they told me I didn’t have too. I hope you’ll subscribe if you’re not already!
@@TheTownWatch yes I have! I would imagine it depends on the seller on wish. I ended up with a crappy one lol... Also in case someone is looking for a deal tj maxx recently got some of the victronox airboss automatic chronographs. I believe it's a discontinued color. They have been selling them for 160 and victronox lists them at 2000!! You can call your local stores as they are hard to find but they get shipments in daily and you could luck out and score one.
Great video, I will watch more of them. Wouldn't it be ironic if someone watched your video and thought, "Gee that's still a nice looking watch and from a distance, who would know?" and that actually prompted them to purchase one from Wish? That would be truly satirical. That probably won't happen, though. Deadpan works like a charm for me.
I don’t buy watches to tell the time. I buy them as a form of men’s jewellery and like to change a lot. I don’t have tattoos, piercings or a piece of string or leather string around my wrist. Or a thick gold necklace from the ‘hood. I don’t even care if the watch isn’t that accurate. I’ve got a non real Cartier that looks great. No one picks up my wrist to find out if it’s real. Like you wouldn’t lift up a woman’s necklace to decide if the diamond was real.
Bought 2 the same watches off wish,1 by accident.it said the watch was an automatic movement.it was the cheapest battery watch I’ve ever seen.I’ve deleted wish for ever.

I was looking through their website , looked at a tissot listing and I was shown a selection box asking what quality item I wanted so I would not buy anything from them
Hey, at least the triangle on the bezel of the cheap fake turtle aligns properly, makes me wonder why the engineers of a $3300 dollar watch cannot do that.
Although I do understand the thrust of the video, I doubt there is anyone buying a branded watch from Wish who does not understand that it is just a copy watch given the price they are paying. I guess if they were to get the same quality on a 30 dollar watch as a 30,000 dollar watch, it would be astounding and would then make you question the price point of the original even more.
All jokes aside, I did in fact buy a watch on wish awhile back. What I received was a Tissot "Powermatic *BO* ". Not '80', but that's right.... Powermatic *BO* !!!

I bought a "Citizen Blue Angels Skyhawk" from Wish. My hopes weren't high, but it didn't even slightly resemble the real deal. It wouldn't fool a three-year-old kid. And the battery died within a week..
Yes, I actually reached out to them about receiving fake items and I offered to return them for a refund. They refunded me my money and told me to keep the items.
I was looking to get another Seiko automatic diver watch! To replace a great workhorse of a watch. The Citizen Aqualand watch with eco drive! I've had that watch since 2009! The battery is going bad, and I have to send it back to the company. Citizen no longer makes this model. So it is cheaper to get a new watch. I had a Seiko dive watch when I was in the Navy in the late 1970s. The Seiko watch that was somewhat like I had at that time was 380.00 dollars today. I have seen it on Wish for 40.00 dollars. Right then and there, I knew it was fake. Why would anyone charge $40.00 for a Sekio when they go for $380.00? Thanks for the video. I look forward to seeing the new videos on this series.

If one gets some silver model paint and a fine brush... They can fix up the indicies and hands and make the three dollar watch into a five dollar watch...
Value for money they are not bad at all. A battery will cost you more than the $3 watch including one. Same with the Feiko bracelet. I do like Wish.com
Well l know someone who has had a fake Rolex Date just for years and still works automatic movement. I have bought a Rolex Daytona from wish AAA luxury quality, l have also tried on the Authentic genuine Rolex Daytona ,well the Rolex Daytona from Wish looks just as good has hacking and keeps good time. Nothing stays the same Fakes are getting really good, looks and quality. Also with Rolex and there long waiting list for some of there models like 2-3 years for a Submariner. I pretty sure a few people might get fed up waiting and just get a high grade Replica lol. Who feels it knows it, some people would feel fake wearing a fake watch, some people would feel totally comfortable at peace with themselves. As for never buying a watch from Wish many still do and feel comfortable doing so .
If the Replica/Fake watch is legal as it is in many countries to make, to sell and buy no problem, there is criminality in businesses full stop, thats why big companies get find millions for wrong doing all the time.
I think they probably dupe a lot of people! For those of us who know watches it is very obvious that most of the "name brand" watches on wish are fake. Thanks for watching! Hope you'll subscribe if you're not already!
my nephew came to visit I gave him a watch that was too small for my wrist he lost it before he even left its somewhere in this house so buying a watch is perfectly fine if you're buying for children, in my opinion.
I agree.........and as long as it works........🤔 If it still tells time......then that's all that really matters. Nobody is going to know nor care as you're in public passing by numerous people all the time who are in their own conversations not paying attention on what watch you're wearing. LOL 😂 This guy is not seeing the whole picture. People buy these watches to save money.....not to impress or show off to their buddies. 🙄
Obviously fake watches from Wish are c.ap but ther is some really good chinese brands like Pagani design. Very well made. Or check out Steeldive, not from Wish but Alibaba. Very well made and quality pieces with sapphire and Seiko NH35 mechanism. Check them out ;)
You don't seem to understand that most people who buy from wish, dhgate, aliexpress, and alibaba know what they're getting into. And, alot of the cases, alot of the stuff that they buy cuts out the middle man who slap some logo on their product to dropship. For example, if you search up "mens watch" on amazon, alot of the watches that come up are actually just chinese products with some logo slapped on them marked up by 100-500%. So people like me like to cut out the middle man and get the same watched, unbranded for 1/3 the price. I've saved alot of money (hundreds of dollars) doing this.
Man I was cringing this whole time looking at the quality of these replicas...When you do the in depth look at the Tissot, do me a favor and hit it hard with a jewelers polishing cloth and see if it pulls off the plating like what happened with my SKMEI Briston Clubmaster homage watch lol. Great series idea, can't wait to see more! 😎🍻👍
@@TheTownWatch Yeah man, it was a bummer but I'm glad I got to test it out and warn others. Hopefully the company will improve its PVD coating methods for a longer lasting and more robust plating.
I bought a bunch of these cheap watches from wish. Other than the crappy lume they were fine and all still work. I reviewed them and youtube shut my channel down.
It amazes me that there are knock off Tudors... I mean really why bother? They're such a niche maker too, like I could understand a knock-off Seiko or Citizen but a Tudor? Basically only watch fans know about Tudor and watch fans know their prices and the various markets online from legit, to secondhand to replicas.
Compare the watches from DH gate with the real deal . There's seamaster replicas for £130 where even experts would find it hard to tell the difference. Some watches from wish are extremely close look at there Monaco Steve McQueen for example not all fakes are bad unfortunately most of there watches aren't waterproof .
By the way if you don't know China does parts for NASA space rockets. U.S. goods imports from China totaled $451.7 billion in 2019, down 16.2% ($87.6 billion) from 2018, but up 52.4% from 2009. U.S. goods imports from China are up 342% from 2001 (pre-WTO accession). U.S. goods imports from China account for 18.1% of overall U.S. goods imports in 2019.
I've actually seen the automatic Seiko PADI turtle from Wish...it looks quite a bit better than that one you have. It actually has a very plain looking NH36...was about $100 Canadian. Compared with my real one...the bezel lined up perfectly, mine is close, but very normal :( . Bezel click is not great, but other than a tiny bit more back play..acceptable. Was very difficult to tell the difference. No idea how accurate the movement is, but...it's a Seiko. I actually felt bad for me...I paid retail - 10% and add to that 15% taxes (GST and HST) $672.75. It is my second most expensive watch I own...behind my Tissot Ballade III. Your Wish version of a Tissonot should be shot in a remarkable fashion. Thanks for the laugh.
I knew that the Tissot I ordered was gonna be a fake...but for $25 -- I was curious of what I would actually receive. When you look at the item on their site, it is listed as an "automatic." After you order, the order confirmation says "Quartz." Interesting bait n switch. Okay, I wasn't expecting it to be an automatic. When the watch finally arrived (3-weeks) -- it was the wrong color. I used their CS interface to let them know I received the wrong watch. I attached photos of what they pictured in their order confirmation (the color/watch that I ordered), and a photo of the watch I received, which was not the color/watch I ordered. This is how they closed my case: "It must be frustrating that you got the wrong color of your watch. Your order details can confirm that the store correctly fulfilled your order based on the variation you selected." WTF!? They admitted that I got the wrong item...and then state that I received what I ordered.
@@AvgJoeWatchReviews Partially. You do get some fakes on AliExpress, but I know that AliExpress actually remove them as well. That's why sellers on then have to be more creative when posting pictures etc. A prime example being 'Age Girl' watches. Which from what I've been told are actually just fakes.

Value for money they are not bad at all. A battery will cost you more than the $3 watch including one. Same with the Feiko bracelet. I do like Wish.com
Maybe, except for selling fakes is illegal and all.
What are your thoughts about the criminality of making fake products and selling them?
If the Replica/Fake watch is legal as it is in many countries to make, to sell and buy no problem, there is criminality in businesses full stop, thats why big companies get find millions for wrong doing all the time.
I think 99 % of people purchasing a watch from wish. Know its fake.
But it looks nice.
I think they probably dupe a lot of people! For those of us who know watches it is very obvious that most of the "name brand" watches on wish are fake. Thanks for watching! Hope you'll subscribe if you're not already!
People get greedy when they see a Patek philippe for 20 or 50 euro, gambling it will work.
my nephew came to visit I gave him a watch that was too small for my wrist he lost it before he even left its somewhere in this house so buying a watch is perfectly fine if you're buying for children, in my opinion.
Thanks for watching!
Seiko one I actually have. One of the best watches I’ve had 😂😂
I don't care as long as it's cheap .
Looks good .
Who's gonna know.
I agree.........and as long as it works........🤔
If it still tells time......then that's all that really matters.
Nobody is going to know nor care as you're in public passing by numerous people all the time who are in their own conversations not paying attention on what watch you're wearing. LOL 😂
This guy is not seeing the whole picture. People buy these watches to save money.....not to impress or show off to their buddies. 🙄
Lol. Literally anyone who has a slight interest in quality timepieces. These are really bad fakes. Lol
@@Lawestyo1 And what are they gonna do?
Are they worth buying if you can't afford the real thing but want a good looking cheap watch?
Buy a real watch from Seiko, Citizen, or Casio. They are great!
Obviously fake watches from Wish are c.ap but ther is some really good chinese brands like Pagani design. Very well made. Or check out Steeldive, not from Wish but Alibaba. Very well made and quality pieces with sapphire and Seiko NH35 mechanism. Check them out ;)
Absolutely, I have!
But they work
I considered ordering an Orient but it was so cheap that it set off alarm bells
Nice! Yes, the alarm bells go off a lot when you’re on wish! 😅
@@TheTownWatch the good news is I have one on the way from a reputable source. Lol
@@gtcam723 Good! Hope you enjoy it!
For 2$ and 10$ shipping for a bell and ross good enough replica, I'd say it's worth it
You don't seem to understand that most people who buy from wish, dhgate, aliexpress, and alibaba know what they're getting into.
Thanks for watching my friend! That’s a good idea to test out the coating! Too bad that happened to you with the Skmei! I saw that on your video!
Thanks for watching!
That'd make a good video. Thanks for watching!
Great video man and great PSA!!
😁 Thanks Miguel!
That's mad says automatic when it's battery shhhhh
At least the Wish Seiko got the chapter ring to line up 😀😀
Sir how you can expect original under $30 bucks 😆
That first watch is so illegible, I thought the second hand was the minute hand before you started it.
lmao I don’t care if it’s fake if it looks good then I’m good I don’t even care if the time is wrong haha
Same i bought a watch it looks good
Hell yeaaa
Have you tried returning any of these "authentic" watches sighting the wish.com policy of not selling fake items?
Yes, I reported all the fakes they sent me and was refunded. I offered to send the watches back but they told me it wasn’t necessary.
@@TheTownWatch So shouldn't we all buy Watches from Wish and then report them? Maybe this would teach them a lesson
When I saw the bakside of the ”Tissot” I started to laugth 😂 what a joke to just paint the opening of one of the beautiful watches Tissot make
If the watch tells time, and is water resistant, it's a good watch.
The ad opening this video was for wish.com!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣
are you saying the $1.80 Tudor I bought on wish is a fake?
.... come on man....
:)
😅 Thanks for watching! I like that “Tissotnot”!
Thanks for sharing your experience with Wish! Also, thanks for watching!
Fake or not fake so what I love wish. They have cool stuff anyway
"Don't buy from wish" And offcourse there is a wish add🤣
Yeah there's a reason why us watch channels buy watches from AliExpress and not Wish 😉
Absolutely! Thanks for watching man!
AliExpress sells a ton of fakes. I’m assuming your 😉 icon was indeed sarcasm. I think Ali needs to be called out as well. Maybe a future video? 🤔
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I’ve seen those. But they do have straight up replicas on there and plenty.
When obvious fakes show up on AliExpress, they are deleted soon...
That is why it is called wish. As you get your watch delivered, you keep on wishing for something else.
I like how my man wants to spend 20 bucks and expect an original usd300 watch
What a joke with Feiko and Fissot. 😂
I bought a watch from wish and it was the best quality watch I've seen
Your watch count must be quite low?
I will assume you never handled a propper watch before to think that
Well the FIRST one was really good for the money!!!
