Coh 1 fan forever.. i first played this game since 2008 and still I'm in love with this game.. still playing this in 2020..

I finally played my first CoH2 automatch today, and whilst it was fun, CoH1 will always hold my heart.

I can't believe I missed out on the COH 1 multiplayer scene.
I hope they go back to this Coh 1 style design for 3, having two hyper versatile factions is really cool.

The one thing I really miss from CoH 2, both when watching and playing CoH 1, is the unit trackers at the top of the screen. I think that if anything is one of the best features of CoH 2; in many other ways CoH 1 is the superior game.
No. Coh 2 is a good improvement on coh 1. The only thing coh 1 does better is teching and unit variety.
@@motss5651 Not true at all. Opening builds, garrison, capture and emplacement mechanics are some of the many degraded aspects in the sequel.

In CoH1, vehicle cover doesn't matter what direction it is: you just need to be "near" it, and it applies its 25% reduction to received accuracy, just for being sat next to that bush.
That game was a nice nostalgia of COH1 madhouse

I will always remain a COH 1 fan but ever since I stepped into COH 2 about 6 years ago and experiencing the new aspects of combat, new commander qualities and capabilities. I just couldn't go back to COH 1.
They're both good for different reasons. The real reason you play the second over the first is because more people play it than the original.
The medics arent there to pick up corpses. only the injured. :3

I kinda like coh 1, maybe not as fancy as coh2 but it was fun.
The difference between coh1 beta vs 2.602 is that stugs had such high acc vs all targets it could out snipe AT guns/infantry(rifle/rangers)/Sherman which was bonkers.
In COH1 I have seen some expert players move their riflemen independant of each other. Like when a rifleman unit is capping a point some of them start walking towards the next capping point while still managing to cap the current point. When the point is capped they reach the next capping point quickly because some of the rifles are half way there already. How do you do this?
I don't think this it's possible in original COH1 with just one unit... (but maybe there is a mod for this). However, in COH2 it is possible because units can capture points simply by standing close to it (they can be in combat, on the move, etc). To be honest I don't really like this "improvement", feels so unreal.
Yes it's called cap-walking you can do it and you don't need a mod. It minimizes the time to move between points you want captured. This is how you do it:
Select a rifle, click on a point to capture, then give a face command next to another point, and quickly click to cap the first point again
(face command: the way you give a command to setup Anti tank gun or MG facing a certain direction)
One of the rifles will keep going towards that face command position, while the other 5 will stay to finish capping. After that, you can capture the next point with that one rifle and the other 5 will zoom across towards him.

coh 1 is so much better then coh 2 in my opinion just love this game and still play it too this day :)
what are the principle differences between coh1 and coh2?
1. Coh1 and Coh2 resource systems are slightly different from each other. In Coh1, population and manpower are much more dynamic than in Coh2.
2. Coh2 is mechanically superior to Coh1 in many respects. Coh2 mechanics unavailable in Coh1 include: vaulting, true-sight, dynamic smoke, prioritize vehicles, handbrake mode, reverse button for vehicles and at-guns, etc.
3. Coh2 is graphically superior to Coh1 however the art design in Coh1 is better and more consistent.
4. The tactical map in Coh1 is better looking and more clear. The Coh2 tactical map offers more as you can do many more things in it.
5. Animations in Coh2 are superior to Coh1. (For example, base infantry animations are motion captured in Coh2.)
There are many more differences. I am thinking in changing coh2 to coh, this happened yersterday, was having a hard game vs a soviet player and managed to get a JT only to get it destroyed in 30 secs by a noob 1 click to win ability (IL rocket run) + RAM
There are many cheesy tactics and abilities in Coh1 (ex. Snipers, entire Coh1 british faction, etc.). There are also rampant exploits, hacking, and imbalance in Coh1 because of the peer to peer network in multiplayer as well as the lack of support (The game hasn't been patched in over 7 years.). The British faction in Coh1 has not even been used in the small number of tournaments that have taken place in the last couple of years.

iron sky.... yeah, lacks all the best tactical innovations of coh. that game... it's going to be a big disappointment, and BARELY in the vein of coh despite their claims.
