    I’m actually “Ken” from the Sense of Speed video. I’m a real life racer and Kevin (Sense of Speed) asked me to help him with this project. Thanks for giving him the credits he deserves. He spent months on developing this process and we did dozens and dozens of sessions together testing changes and discussing how those changes felt. Sometimes the changes were good, sometimes not so much. It was an incredibly long and thorough process, and Kevin definitely went deeper into this than I think any sane person would have. So, again, thanks for giving him the credit he deserves and sharing his work with your community.

      Thanks so much to you and Kevin, and the others who were involved, for the exhaustive time, testing, and effort that was put into this new method.

    I did the Sense of Speed process and it has really improved my rig. Also a big shout out for their great work!

    I made the change a couple weeks ago and I can totally agree it makes a big difference . Takes a little time but well worth the effort.

    Tommy, I have watched the video a couple of times but I can’t figure out how to apply this principle to a single ultrawide monitor setup.
    Thanks for all of your videos, I would have given up on Iracing if it wasn’t for all of the help you have provided!

      I'm not a genious and could never have came up with any of this but would be glad to try and help... I would guess that your confusion starts at the part where we measure from the left top corner of the left triple to the right top corner of the right triple? If so, I would think you would just measure from one side of your ultrawide to the other. Besides that just do exactly what the video says to do, step by step, Pause where it says to pause and make the changes, don't overthink it, I know it does not make sense how it could possibly work, but it does, and is well worth the effort... Even when changing the monitor section in iRacing, input that you are using curved triples, that seems to be the key. Don't venture out on your own, do it exactly as described like you had triples and try it, you can always go back, just make a back-up of your renderdx11monitor.ini file

    Tommy you are straight up man, thanks for sharing and giving the guy his due, like someone said earlier, I knew this was where you were headed when I saw the title of your video. I watched this several times and adjusted my system by it about a month ago and it has been a very much worth the time. I "feel" the location of the car so much better and it definately helps the sense of scale looking out the windshield, I always thought the track seemed too narrow at race speeds and this definately helped that.....I have a weak system compared to most of you ..(Intel I5- 3750k w/ GTX 1660S card)... and it didnt really change my FPS at all.
    I highly recommend giving it a try to anyone that hasn't already! Thanks once again for producing great content...

    I tried watching that awhile ago but the constant text flashing onto screen was making me dizzy. I appreciate the time he put into it, but his video editing is just too difficult for me to watch.

  • @kdsammy
    @kdsammy 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    What are the actual settings for your monitors now then? Also did you do the other settings to do with z plane and something to do with pixel density iirc? I did try this method and actually felt a difference but then David Tucker from Iracing said that some of them didn't have any effect anyway so I ended up going back to the standard way of setting up. I might go back and try it again now though.

    Anyone else deal with motion sickness when applying these settings from Sense of Speed? I followed the instructions and the FOV felt better and I felt like I could "see" the apex better for lack of a better term but it did make me feel a bit dizzy and a little nauseous after just a couple minutes of driving.

      I use a single 48" LG OLED and this made a massive difference. Worth your time and effort. He says 60 degrees FOV but i found 63 is better for me. However the most important settings are in the .ini file for your monitor under the laser scan portion of the file. Game changer.
