Wine... for a Western!! Nah, make mine Cowboy whisky. Though I guess wine and hashish for Hayden's later days.

I have seen this movie 5 or 6 times and still enjoy it. That's the definition of a classic.

Thank you Sir for serving & defending our great country.🇺🇸
Don't know for a fact whom you're addressing but I will wager it's John Wayne! I'm absolutely maximum kidding.
Ah shucks, it wasn't nuthin'
I'm into the movie 11:11 minutes and it's better than anything produced in twenty years. "you're playin' solitaire!". I can watch this shown in front of my mother, my kids, and there's all kinds of great actors in there.ainstays of the western era. Thanks for the upload. I am grateful! 🙏
What a great movie. I love the old western films. The acting, the actors and the action.
Super entertainment. Thank you for sharing it.
Sterling Hayden, one of the coolest man in western world and I salute him.
Impressive that he could play the urban outlaw as well--as in Asphalt Jungle.
I'm an old man and always loved the westerns, hell all I wanted to be as a youngster was to be a Cowboy. Many end with them going to California to settle down. I don't think California would be my destination, not even in 1849. Good place to visit, but some place where I'd like to hang up my boots.

@@venetiaanortrup8514 Thank you, I have been watching them. Any movie with a horse in it is a good movie. 😀
You're not an old man just older. Enjoy everyday watching westerns like me and my dad always have.
Love the old westerns! Watched them with my Mom and Dad when I was a little girl! I'm going to be 68 in 3 months and I still love watching them! Beautiful out west❤
@@bonniestrait9138 HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Great Western,
film noir are the best.
Sterling Hayden is a fantastic actor and is super in this movie
Thanks for sharing!
I knew Rod Taylor when we were filming in Northern Queensland in 1977
Wilt Melnick discovered Rod Taylor.
Great movie! John Dehner and Sterling Hayden together both great actors.
If you want to know about Sterling Hayden, he wrote a book called Wanderer. He was an actor and a good one, but his life extended well beyond the screen.
He was living in a caboose or train car up on a hill in San Francisco , he had a full beard, and was seen in an antique shop, browsing about.
Great autobiography. He said Hollywood acting was the easiest money he could imagine! Also, just like Samuel Clemens, his true passion was sailing tugs and schooners.
55:09 Rick answers Canby: "No Thanks. I got enough facing me without worrying about who's backing me up." 1:01:54 Rick anwers Quentin: "Sure, I trust ya...you trust me...but we can't trust each other." Great Lines! Fine western with a fine cast. Sterling Hayden, James Millican, Regis Toomey, Denver Pyle, William Bishop, John Dehner, Richard Reeves, Hugh Sanders, Rod Taylor. All except Rod Taylor made many westerns. I've watched this movie before, and I'll watch it again.
Uuuh, I simply like those old movies (but definitely only with a kind of happy ending). Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing.
Fabulous western, the twist's and turns are well acted and the storyline wonderful. Never a dull moment and thoroughly enjoyed!
Sterling Hayden is the kind of actor that you just want to watch any movie he is in
There is a euro interview posted with him in his home in his later life, pretty cool.

There sure is a lot of shooting in this Western.
It helps that Sterling Hayden is in this movie.
Now all I have to do is find it on DVD.
LOVE ya, Sterling ❤.

Different kind of western, not bad. Thanks. Saw elsewhere, watched again.
That was a great movie with a good happy ending. Thanks for loading it up farmer!!
A great movie , Thank you so ❤much
I love Sterling Hayden. His portrayal of Jack T Ripper was masterful.
At the end, the happy couple rides off to California....., with no bed rolls, no supplies, no nothin'. Good luck with that. Still, a very entertaining movie and excellent upload.
Yep; a lot of silly mistakes were made and still are made today in films.
Have you noticed, everytime riders camp for the night, they've got blankets, pots, pans, coffee jugs, food to cook etc. But when they're riding during the day , they've got no gear on the horse, at most saddle bags with nothing in em and maybe a blanket rolled up
@@adventuressurvivalinthailand Yep, it's the same in every western movie. Audiences apparently took a lot for granted in those days.
Nah... doin' the sensible thing, headin' out to Ma's old place first to shake the timbers loose for the night.
Sterling Hayden's top gun is a real man.... Unlike the other top gun Tom Cruise who don't do action films right!
Really enjoyed this, thanks. I've always been an SH fan. Did you notice how carefully he enunciates every word? No need for subtitles when he's a'speakin'!
A young Actor Rod Taylor playing the town gunman, who would think that 5 years Later, he would make Stardom, by Appearing in the hit Movie " THE TIME MACHINE 1960 " May he RIP he passed away in 2015 @ the age of 84.

Thank you for the upload 😉👌
Thanks a lot. Excellent movie, I love it when the woman shoots her erstwhile beau, a la The Stranger.
Not a bad Little Western , Good performance by Sterling Hayden , Nice to see Future star of the Time Machine Rod Taylor as the mouthy Gunfighter Sutter..
Don't ya'' love how the bad guys can drink an entire bottle of whiskey and still get into a gunfight and shoot straight ??? I'd pass out and not wake up 'tll Columbus Day.😂😂😂👍👍👍
Another nice western movie..😊👍🏼
Sterling Hayden went on and played the corrupt cop in "The Godfather." Al Pacino killed him in the Italian restaurant while eating spaghetti.
Sterling was in some terrific movies as the leading man, but this is not one of them. Watch "The Killing" & "The Asphalt Jungle" - both definitely worth viewing!)
The man who played his friend Jim was a leading man himself in many flicks in the 30s (Regis Toomey).
I agree with some of the comments stating Hayden was not suited to be in westerns.
Whoever posted this ... (Luis Peix), thank you very much for a top quality view!
Yeah he did. I really liked his acting and the way he carried himself with each part he portrayed. They don't make actors like that anymore...
I noticed Captain freaken Spalding was in it lol, Devil's Rejects!
Hayden not suited for westerns?? He's great in many kinds of roles, but he fits in a western same as James Stewart, Randolph Scott, Robert Mitchum, and a host of others who've played various roles. But there's many of us who feel he's better in westerns than anything else.
The surprise on his corrupt face, the little hole in his neck, so perfect, so richly warranted. Wasn't he a monster? Perfect for the role, to remember for all time.
Hayden was ok in Westerns and very good in noirs but think his role in Strangelove suited him best. Kubrick had a knack for picking the perfect actor for a part.
classic western, thoroughly enjoyable.
I can still remember Edgar Buchanan and the old TV show petticoat Junction many many many many years ago I used to watch it with my Grammy
Sterling Hayden was under-rated I think, to me he was more convincing than John Wayne!
@raymondsommerfeldt2817 I agree 👍 with you wholeheartedly!
I agree.
Nice movie, only now i watch Gregory Peck at the wrong side but i like his movies, specially the big country.
Hey, we have the fine actor John Dehner in here, also Denver Pyle and Rod Taylor, Taylor will get very popular soon in movies and on TV.
I love westerns from the fifties.
Incidentally TCM is featuring Rod Taylor in movies today! I just stumbled upon this after watching a few of his movies on today
at 41:55 minutes a car drives by with headlights on in the hill behind the young punk of the town when he challenges the top gun, even so I love this movie thanks for the post
Closer to 41:45
Good film. Big showdown at the end. The baddie dies and the goodie gets the girl !!
great sound quality luis wish all people had great sound like you do own there movies
William Straughan
Love this western as well as a hosts of b&w westerns from the 1930s---1950s.
Rick Martin was a real man.
In the ending gun fight Sterling had a nine shooter! Them Hollywood guns is sumpin special all right.
actually he had two 6's lol
He had two guns, a six-shooter and a three-shooter.
Sterling Hayden was a good western actor
Thank you
Luis Peix for the upload.

Good 😊 movie nice 👍
i am from greece. starling hayden is a legend. i think it was black list in macarthy period. most succesful movies he was played are suddenly with frank sinatra, johny guitar by american friendship nicholas ray, of course one of my ten favourite movies dr strangelove, the killing also by coumbrink, and one of 20 best film noir of all time the asphalt jungle by john huston. And finally the epic ganster but for my opinion first of all machiavelli the godfather part 1
If I remember correctly Sterling Hayden was in the OSS in WW2 sailing around/operating in the area of Greece
My dad was in Greece before WW2 started. He was there in April, 1941. He fought against List. List later conquered a Greek town called Athens. People do not understand that there were large skirmishes fought before WW2 started in December 7 1941.
For all practical purposes WW 2 started in March of 38 when hitler took Austria, then 10/39 hitler took the Sudetenland, then Chechoslovakia March of 39, in 9/39 germany invaded Poland from the west and russia invaded Poland from the east, in Sept 39 GB, France, Australia, New Zealand, declared war on Germany. in 4/40 Germany invaded Denmark and Norway, in 5/40 Germany invaded Belgium, Holland, France, Luxembourg
In Oct 1940 Italy invaded Greece the Greeks gave the Italians a very bloody nose, Germany invaded Greece 4/41 and about the same month GB landed in Greece to help fight the Italians and Germany the Greeks and GB lost.
I don't think these can be called large skirmishes, and since Athens is, I believe, the Capitol of Greece, I don't think it is just a Greek town.
I am guessing that List were a Greek version of the Quislings in Norway, and the French Vichy------ traitors.
For us, the USA, WW II Officially started on December 7, 1941 with the attack on Pearl Harbor in reality it started earier because the US supplying GB with what they needed to carry on
Steven. the GB as you call them avoided the fighting in Greece. GB was quick to call the Australians, New Zealanders (and Greeks) who fought there cowards. The Americans took most of the credit with their OSS operations, and news coverage. The USA did come in and fought the Japanese. GB stayed away by withdrawing from Dunkirk until 1944. List was not a "Greek version of the Quislings". That is like calling Patton a "French version of the Quislings". List was tried for war crimes, but you could hardly call him a traitor!
He was not blacklisted. He cooperated, later regretting it.
Anyone who watches a movie with hayden in it, has never previously watched a movie with him in it
one of my favourite movies
enjoyed it delightfully thnks uploader
Fantastic.movie. Thank you.
Great loved it. Thank you 🙏
I love him as an actor especially western
This is a good western which was remade twice, first in 1960 with "Noose for a gunman" starring Jim Davis, and then in 1964 with "The quick gun" starring Audie Murphy. I never watched the film from 1960 but the one with Audie Murphy, while using many similar scenes from the original film, including some dialogues, is far better than this present version. The second remake adds some good scenes like one fight with butcher hooks ( and many more...), more tension and better action and acting as well. And Technicolor as a cherry on the cake. Despite bad reviews, mainly from people who never saw it, this remake is miles away better than this "Top gun". And Audie Murphy was a great western actor!
good movie thank you
Timely review. What some people do not understand is that the western is not Broadway, it's not glamorous. The actor usually plays a hard man who lacks subtlety. He's tough, direct (Wayne, Hayden, Cooper). Unlike the out-of-law (Borgnine, Arthur Kennedy, Widmark) whose character requires large variety of facial expressions. Thanks.
Duryea! Duryae! Dan Dan Dan! :o)
A very fun film! I just wish that every time there was an action sequence, the slow music didn't kick in to tell us not to get excited.
Estubo buena , sterling, el "visitador" y el viejo jhak" le dan categoria a las peli.😁
Have a drink, it's on the house! How classic!!
We need more new and vararity movies ,the existing one's have been there for ever
3:10 to Yuma, the new one. (Cussing is not nice but neither are tar and feathers, even figurative ones, or as the young folks say, literal tar and feathers.)
I always like this movie. It's noose for a gunman all over.
Very Nice Picture & Sound ! Thank You
he's got all he needs, wonder what he did with his tools, california had bad men too in the 1870's,the Winchesters dated this movie, repeating arms, woman's got brains, thanks for the upload
Check out Volcanic lever action rifles (1855-56)
Sterling is the man !
“One a you betta tie this mule up in the shade! He’s been at that Loco weed again!”
😂😂😂😂😂
Understand you loud and clear, and just have to mention the following few guy's who put in some memorable performances in the glory days of westerns.Gregory Peck,William Holden,Robert Mitchum,Burt Lancaster,Victor Mature,Henry Fonda,Jimmy Stewart, etc etc.Personally I liked some of Audie Murphy's westerns even though he was not a good actor but true real life war hero, like I say, everyone will have a different take on things,Thank you.
I wonder if shell shock/battle fatigue works for or against a person as an actor. (Or as John Wayne famously explained it in regard to the early '40s, "I turned down that role. How I got away with it I don't know...isn't it possible good things just happen? To me they do.")
great western!!!
This movie was remade in colour in 1964, with Audie Murphy as Clint Cooper and Ted De Corsia as Judd Spangler [in this version] and called THE QUICK GUN, I think its still on you tube.
Paul Glossop It was made in 1960 too as "Noose for a Gunman" starring Jim davis. All three movies are good and fun. But when you want to see the beatiful Merry Anders, you gotta watch "The Quick Gun". Ted de Corsia is on both "Quick Gun"and "Noose for A Gunman".He plays the same part and BAAAAD as usual.

I just can’t get used to a guy riding a horse while wearing a three piece suit and a tie.
成田 bigsandy 6.
Bigsandy thanks for the info, ive always liked Jim Davis but never seen Noose for a Gunman, so I will watch out for it, Ted De Corsia was one of my favourite screen villains, Jack Elam was another, Merry Anders, a real good looker, I have been meaning to find out if she is still alive
Already seen it. Good movie
Just sit bàck, relex n watch my friends, this is a very wonderful show we all make comments later, thanks.
First time I saw Rod Taylor. It wouldn't be until 10 yrs. later that I learned he wasn't American but Australian.
fuzzyburnette
To me he looks so wrong making all those leering, snarling, ignorant and dishonest bad guy faces. I'm pretty sure I saw him first in The Time Machine.
He was good in "The Birds" too, but in this movie he is pretty bad.
Classic....Sterling was a bad ass!!!
John Wayne bore the same expression in around 200 films, seem's to work for some.Individually there was a lot of fine actor's in the past.Borgnine,Tracy,Ladd, stewart,Douglas, taylor, Widmark, etc. It's all opinion of course and everyone could add a lot to the list.Thank's for sharing this enjoyable Hayden flick.
John Wayne and Sterling Hayden don't look alike or bear the same expression, not 200 times, not one. They aren't comparable as actors or as Hollywood males or types. Neither one is "the poor man's version" of the other, but if one did happen to be the imitation, it would be John Wayne (who famously said to James Stewart in the 1940s, "War? What war, where?") OUCH! I must be carried away on the wave of your honesty about your comment being only your opinion. We just don't EVER get that here. :o)
My comment stands. I don't even consider it my opinion. It's practically scientific, it's so hard and sure a fact. If there aren't dozens of books dealing with it, all of them in agreement, there ought to be, and someday surely will be.
Gave it a thumbs up but never thought much of Sterling Hayden as a bad guy, or a cowboy, or in a western period. Didn't have the stride for it and his acting denied any true edge in the character he played, IMO. Still a better movie than many made today.
Can't agree. For me, the best Western stars are McCrea, Scott and of course, Hayden.
Simply giving an opinion, That's what IMO staqnds for. No where in that comment is there a request, or demand, for anyone to agree. Can understand your selections as they were very popular back in the day and still m ake a good showing in comparison to some movies produced in the last 25 years.
Thanks Michael. My "for me" is the same as your IMO. After all, they are only opinions and everyone is entitled to one. :)
Sterling Hayden (essentially) plays 'HIMSELF' in his movies...just like ROBERT MITCHUM. 'Both' of these men were so 'comfortable' with WHO THEY WERE..that they didn't feel the NEED to "act".
Kodi James - Exactly. Sterling Hayden does play himself, a mild-mannered, easy-going fellow. Not a bad guy. Robert Mitchum? No comparison. He is the bad guy, looks the part and has that stride.
There is a movie you may like. Jory, starring Robbie Benson, who is made into a gunslinger who hangs his guns up at 15! That was acting! Enjoy! ;)
Might wanna get your Caps Lock key checked as it seems to hang up once in awhile?
Sterling Hayden ..... un sacré acteur !!
Agreed. But feel saying so in French diminishes it.
Good Movie ❤❤❤❤
Watching from the land of Achilles, Phthia, and l enjoy Hayden's stoic behavor, like an Ajax' , confronting Hector.
Thankyou for the nice movie 🎥👍🏼👍🏼
Rod Taylor is also in the film!
If people were paying attention, you'll notice a young Rod Taylor starting about 6:30 into the film!
Thank u so much 4 the upload, loved this 1
Nice you.
Asphalt Jungle was his best film. He was also great as a corrupt police captain in the God father!
Top Western human VALUES are shure low at times can't see the positives because of their negative out looks good acting plot and story ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great actor 🎥🎥🎥
You could smoke in the theaters back then. There was an ashtray on the back of every seat.
“There’s nothing as mean as a renegade white man”... Sterling Hayden was indeed multifaceted. He is in one of the most popular movies of all time. Michael Corleone shot him in the head 17 years after Hayden made this Western.
Thz SO MUCH indeed 4 uploading!
This is actually really good.
