While Sands was telling about his meeting with Billy the Kid, the background piano was playing a song that my mother called Over the Waves 🌊. When she would sit down at the piano that was always the first song that she would play. She didn’t read a word of music 🎼, yet she played both the piano and guitar 🎸. I’m 78 years old now and she’s been gone for many years now, but, oh my, how I wish that I could hear her play and sing 🎶. just one more time. 😢😢😢😢
That's awesome! I wish more folks would miss and respect our elders . I feel most of the new generation doesn't see the value of parents and grandparents .
Back in the early days cowboys and Indians was the run of the mill!....popular choice, because sometimes cliffhangers are offered to keep the viewers on edge to see what is going to happen in the next chapter!......
I liked how Rod CAMERON could thumb the hammers and fire both guns at once. Have to have pretty big hands. One of my favorite westerns that many don't even know about.
Good Western, great role by Rod Cameron as John Sands, a trader and former gunman out to avenge his brother's demise. Catchy throughout, pleasant soundtrack, beautiful females too. Sole negative: constant advert interruptions. Thanks for sharing
Wonderful western - the cowboy/hero has a great presence - big, strong, confident, and fast with the gun; and the two ladies in the mix are both really beautiful, bringing some romance to add another layer of interest to the story - really enjoyed watching this movie -thank you so much!
Rod🌟 Cameron wonderful cowboy star🌟 this movie had it all great acting🌟 excellent Script 🌟for its time amazing ⭐ This is classic five star 🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟movie 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥 a must see 👀👀👀👀👀
Oh this one I realy love to the maximum. Even those romantc scenes. Its all in there to show how a good man could act and take care for his own business in harmony with the universe.
I always stop for a Rod Cameron movie whenever I find one. As well as great movies, Rod had a couple of great TV series too. "Coronado 9" and "State Trooper"
Some actors are naturally perfect to act the part because they have the voice and truly everything that make the movie genuine to believe it really happened!......
A good old movie, good actors, good story. Rod Cameron was a famous actor in the era, he was really good. *Recommend "Ride the Man Down", an Excellent Movie starring Cameron.*
Uh oh, no wonder I hadn't remembered how good looking Randolph Scott was or how tall. That was Rod Cameron. And he was also taller than Randolph Scott. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I see that Blake Edwards acted in this ~ yes, THAT Blake Edwards. Also Blake's good friend and fellow director, Dick Crockett is in this in a lessor role.
Ah, the grand mountain range of the Texas panhandle. I kept trying to figure out what panhandle they were talking about! 18:4024:19. IMDb says it was filmed at Palo Duro Canyon, which is in the Texas panhandle, so maybe they photshopped the mountains in??!!
Lots of good movies were made in that era. Most better than some of them now. Good morals and ideals. Not just killing for the sake of killing or even sometimes just for the fun of it!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I admire an actor who can ride well when playing the part of a cowboy. Rod Cameron rides well. It's not easy mounting a horse without a saddle. Cameron was one cool cat! I think he was an underrated actor though. I enjoyed this movie, today's generation, will never see ladies that existed in the 40's, 50''s, 60's, 70s', 80's and 90's beautiful, feminine, and took pride in their appearance. I know there's always a few exceptions, but in my high school in the 70's 98% of the girls came to school clean, hair done nicely and dressed nice. Nowadays, you may have to look twice to determine the sex and still not be sure! Sad for sure.
I can't comment about the USA. But rest assured it's just the same, here in the UK and our political/ business system, in London; the only difference, is that it was probably said, in 1066, when William The Conqueror, fought his way into control.
...and the villain getting shot through the door! Brilliant way to make it real and memorable without having to critique the actor on his “death”. How did I miss this growing up?
I’m from Brasil. O primeiro filme que vi de Rod Cameron foi a Adaga de Salomão,um seriado, que , no final ,sempre terminava em cena de extremo perigo para o herói .
Why does a gunfighter of justice always leave for somewhere in western movie ? This film shows us that one should not have arrogant attitude that he doesn't make a mistake .
Gun fire in a bar and everyone just looks around . Nowadays they'd all be hiding under the table with their phone out recording rather than call police 😂
Our hero Sand sudenly developed severe stupidity at around 1:19:00 , two-fold sitting with his back to an open window. Inconsistent behavior, out of character. 👇
During what years was this movie supposed to have taken place? If earlier than 1894 or 5, it made a booboo. Re: the 3030 cartridge was new in 1895, used in the new 1894 Winchester rifle.
Thru the years Rod Cameron has sort of grown on me - his laconic - you can trust me - iam asimple good guy Demeanor - sort of grows on you -he tried but lacked so called charisma ! Thats ok prefer him over some of the hot shots like Flynn- Ty Power -& even tthe Duke who fought WW2 on the back lots of hollywood studios , unlike Fonda -Stewart - Robert Taylor & Montgomery evn 40 yr old Clark Gable - they all enlisted !
Rod Cameron is an under appreciated western star! If you want to see another really good one starting Rod Cameron watch “Ride the Man Down”!

Sorry for your loss, I'm 65 and so blessed to still have my 82 yr. old Mom. We talk everyday and she can still drive to visit whenever she wants.
@@karlamandrell3954 You have good genes in your family. You are indeed blessed.
Some know that little tune as "Down Yonder." Willy Nelson's sister plays it on his album, "Redheaded Stranger."
1948, year I was born. These were the kind of folks that brought me into this world, pard.
@@duffysullivan2794 That is one of the things that makes Cameron a good cowboy. He doesn't seem to be acting as anything other than himself.
Finally a western with a great story line that didn't make you feel rushed. Great movie glad I watched it.
There with you 100 percent.
in my opinion this film is a masterpiece , I loved it from start to end . Thank you so much for sharing .
Stupendous to watch a good old black & white western after ages with a good storyline, music & some fine acting.

Very gud movie great actor ❤ it
Very good movie, keeps your attention the entire time...I recommend highly.
As a lover of old westerns, this was a gem, always liked Rod Cameron.
Yeah, he was hard to dislike!
I agree with both of you !
I saw him years ago in an oater called 'Ride the Man Down'; he made a real impression.
Kind of a Randolph Scott type.
I watched his movie in the 1950s when a kid. Cowboys have always been my heroes.
Thank you for watching it again

Wow. Glad I watched, turned out to be a pretty badass movie. And china-doll Cathy Downs!! What a gem.

Great movie indeed!
I was 8 years old in 1948 but I still miss the silver screen.
This movie was a double attraction with "Short Grass" when I was a boy in the 1950's. Could only pass the cinema and stare at the bill board.

That scene at 1:01 was one of the best. That youngster needed to be taught a thing or two. It was funny seeing him knocked into the bar.
Not a bad horse opera. Years later, it would be remade as "The Texican", starring Audie Murphy.💀
I see that Blake Edwards acted in this ~ yes, THAT Blake Edwards. Also Blake's good friend and fellow director, Dick Crockett is in this in a lessor role.

Hero Sands enjoys doing things the most difficult bull-headed way (vs a more intelligent method).
But that's Classic Western isn't it ? ☺
Clementine Carter from "My darling Clementine" 1946. Beautiful Cathy downs, durn near the prettiest girl a fella ever laid eyes on, I reckon.

Reed Hadley was pretty good himself.

This is a good movie. Similar to one staring Audie Murphy. Don't remember the name.
Blooper, the .30-.30 wasn't on the market till 1895 though it would have been familiar to many in 1948.
