I never get used to how you somehow do these magic tricks. Like this video "Nothing impressive looking here" then at the end just take brush with white paint, dab it around and BAM straight from the gods themselves. Worst part is how simple everything looks and turn out frigging amazing, it's unreal.

I've found an alternative use to this mixture as well: I was making a 1/72 scale A4D Skyhawk, and after I finished assembling it it turned out that despite putting the recommended weight in the nose, it was still sitting down on its tail. And the fuselage was already glued together, so I couldn't just add more lead. There was, however, a small gap between the control panel and the cockpit floor, so I mixed a sanitary silicone with IPA (to a little more watery proportion) and used a syringe with the biggest needle I could find to inject this mixture into the aircraft's nose. The silicone has now dried up, and lo and behold, with its weight the aircraft is now sitting neatly on all three wheels. If there wasn't any gap in the cockpit, I think I could simply use a drill to make a hole in the nose which I could cover with putty afterwards.

Thanks so much for this video, it was incredibly helpful! I just made my first ever water effect for a diorama: a beach and ocean with waves, using this method. I used real sand, shells and rocks from a beach, and even built a little cave. It came out brilliantly! Cheers mate!

Luke at the end of that caulking gun thee should be a notch that opens the caulking tube , so no knife needed. Well most of them do have it not all. All the best mate I am rooting for ya in your new full time career .. Go get them son
I expected that tube to be 30 quid - but dang this stuff is cheap! I'll definitely be getting it for my small puddles to not have to bother with resin at this stage of terrain making! Thanks for sharing Luke, and I'll definitely buy it over your page!

I know this is an old video. I have tried several water effect products that doesn't ever seem to work for me. This effect looks very promising and I hope to try this on my board. I hope this works. I like the fact that this is a thick, quick drying method. Thank you for showing us this technique. I did use this effect. It does look pretty good for what I used it for. I had to buy 2 tubes, but still cheaper than buying actual water products. I even still have some left over in 2nd tube. Thank you for showing me this affect.

I've used this a few times , it's great and miles cheaper than anything. It helps if you put the bit you want to use in the microwave for about 20 -30 seconds and it makes it easier to deploy !!
Been using the Evostik version for a while now, really great, great to know can get it from you now though. I will put a coat of varnish over the top to add shine if needed and to harden the surface. One coat of quick drying varnish and she is golden. Thanks for the great vids bud.

Funny enough used to use this kinda thing in the trade and used the same method of a drop of glass cleaner to help things smooth out, but you have got it down more scientifically, I always have Iso on the go so this will work a treat, going to get some off you soon I think.

There is a thing you called "stipple dry brush", I've just heard "dry brushing" (in the US at least). I'm new to game miniatures painting, and for the base of a plague doctor piece, I want the base to look like a cobble stone walk with dirty water between the stones. I just came across your video when I was looking for options for creating water effects. This is amazingly awesome. I'm headed over to your store to check it out. I can see obvious applications for the likes of this, with say armour going through wade able rivers or bikers going through streams at speed as this would make it appear as if the water is being thrown back on itself, so yeah I'll give it a test run and see what effects can be achieved - cheers mate!

One quick question, as these products you mix are quite strong chemicals, are there any pitfalls to mix ratios you have found, I know with some chemicals if you use a wrong ratio they can react badly and either generate excess heat or toxic vapour, any tips?
Finally, you tease, you. Another use for Iso? I really like the way that it looks over the painted bases. Do you have a technique for getting rid of the bubbles in the water?

I do have a question. Reading the spec on clear fix. It says it can turn yellowish over time. Have you experience this.

Can’t find ClearFix here in Texas, but experimented and found that LocTite Power Grab Ultimate works like this too. You can get 99% isopropyl at Randall’s; haven’t found it anywhere else. Takes quite a bit of stirring to get it into a nice liquid consistency with a bit of thickness. If you thin it enough, it will pour, bubbles will rise to the top while it sets. Comes out quite clear and smooth. To add waves and splashes, I let the smooth water set and then use a squirt straight out of the caulk gun on top, since that will stay in place better. DAP UltraClear will not thin with isopropyl. Just doesn’t mix.
Looks great! Huge bubbles, though. By the way, I was trying to order some flocks and ground covers the other day, but pretty much everything was out of stock. Any idea of when the shop will be restocked?

Just found this after nearing my water feature install. As I have plenty of 70% isoproponal (Covid needs) would that be good enough or must it be 99%. Great video!
I have been trying to come up with a medium to stick a piece of debris in it in front of a primaris psyker. Going to try paint it purple tones and make it look like the energy that is holding the debri up in front of him as a shield.

Hey Luke, do think slime would work? I'm thinking about using clear slime to achieve sth similar since its also polymer based. I don't have any experience with making dioramas but Clearfix reminded me of slime.

Might be good to use with a palette knife for really building texture up and throw in some clear plastic for waves breaking off objects in dioramas/display bases

This is, by far, the best water effect I've seen. Spending so much time and money to bring us this, you sir are a great man.

Have you tried acetone to cut down the harshness of the edges, ?its very good for dissolving plastics as in nail varnish

Can you use this to make stagnant swampy looking water? Great work by the way.
With proper tinting I don't see why not, you could even add some flock algae before it sets up

Very convincing effects :) is isopropanol good for removing paint without harming resin or plastic models?
Or use a sharp toothpick if your paint is Acylic , I had to do this yesterday on a pirate bust I am painting.
