I watch the country music award shows of today and miss music like this. Good old country twang and true artist. Allot of the new ones have talent but just are not real country any more. Great song. I listen to this song often. The lyrics to this could be appropriately applied to the new country of today..."I wonder if you ever think of me?"
Marty's a rocker at heart and I like many of his rockabilly songs, but none better than this one. I definitely like this slightly softer than the record version but I've gotten used to hearing it with the intro song, "Me and Hank and Jumpin' Jack Flash." Sorta seems like they belong together.
This is amazing!!! Marty and The Superlatives never fail to amaze me! I hope you they record this some day. Truly haunting tone!!! This is the best version of this song by far!!!!!
blackz06 you are correct, but I was referring to this version. I think this version blows away the one he recorded back then. The feel of this version is just haunting. The lead Cousin Kenny does just kills it!!!
Ola Belle pitched the song to Del at his house. She told him to “fashion” it to his style. In typical Del style he replied, “Well, I guess that’d be the way you just played it for me, Ms. Reed.”
I love this song so much. Absolutely beautiful. Marty is such a great man.
I had the good luck and great great great pleasure of not only meeting a legend but opening for him some time ago. Man oh man!!!!!!!

Keeping country music alive!

Remarkable___________this was recorded this summer, if the date is right. Just hard to believe. Stuart and his band are still so good.

The Del McCoury Band does the best bluegrass version.
