      As a child prodigy playing with Lester Flatt, Marty Stuart was always a crowd favorite. Legendary players let him shine, and he never seems to have forgotten that. Plus he has NOTHING to be insecure about.

    I'll tell you what... Marty Stuart deserves every award he's ever been given (and that's a whole lot of them to be sure).
    1 year later: I truly appreciate the handful of likes this comment has gotten. I wasn't looking for likes, but it does my heart good to know there are those of us who agree on Mr. Marty Stuart's award worthiness (and the whole band's for that matter). I have to add, Kenny Vaughan is one of my favorite guitarists on the planet (and one of my favorite people as well). 🙂

In Marty's hands, it still kills, both on stage and in studio, instead of dry rotting on the wall of a Hard Rock Cafe somewhere, or locked in some rich non musician collectors vault, never to see the light of day again. Proof that you don’t need a zillion different instruments or click tracks to have an awesome sound. This style of playing goes back to the 50’s when you had to bring your A game or your errors were going to show and you weren’t going to make it that far in the business. Thank you Marty and your boys for keeping such an awesome sound and era alive and well. Please come to Ashland, KY soon!

    A well-chosen gem ("Country Boy Rock & Roll") from the rich repertoire of DON RENO, RED SMILEY & the TENNESSEE CUT-UPS bluegrass band: "Some hillbilly started pickin' / Everybody rocked and rolled!" I've always said Don Reno was a great songwriter (as well as a master on any stringed instrument). Don was known for producing under pressure. When I interviewed him in 1973, he told me he wrote a ton of songs on his way to the King recording studio in Cincinnati!

    • @AudioFileZ
      @AudioFileZ 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amazing to have something the talented Clarence White owned live on so perfectly. White was certainly one of the pioneers we can say pushed the boundaries of bluegrass to have a rock and roll attitude. I really don't want to hear about The Eagles doing it as they never did it with the country element first as the core, especially after Leadon left. White, in my opinion, was the true progenitor of what others came to label "country rock" culminating in both his later solo work and as a member of The Byrds. Even Gram owes a lot to Clarence who died senselessly in a freak accident way too young, not unlike Gram.

      Ken collaborated heavily with Marty on putting that together. Marty is not just a musician; but a historian, photographer (took the last photo of Johnny Cash a couple days before he passed), and a curator. I read it took about 8 years to put that series together. (18 of the artists interviewed for the production, passed before it actually aired)
      Also, Marty finally expects to open his Congress of Country Music museum in his hometown, sometime next year.
