    I'm Brazilian.
Some years ago my wife and I were on a cruise to the Bahamas.
At launch time, usually the crew places you in a table with other passengers, to socialize.
One time they placed us with a mother and daughter from the US.
When we were choosing our desert, I was thinking about taking the chocolat cake. The mother than asked me if we knew what chocolat was 😂😂
I remembered that with the part when the lady explained to Butters what a bed is.

As a Mexican American I completely agree wherever you move too you should always learn the most common language that is used in that country. It's only when people here tell us to stop speaking Spanish all together is where I have a problem with it. I remember having a play in Spanish class and some dude stood up and started chanting "English only this is america" and had to be removed. That's where it takes it too far I think.

Being Mexican and growing up in the US. Then going back to the Mexico. I got to see the perspective on both sides.
    Essentially Mexican history is:
Colonized - Slavery - Independence - Wars to stay Independent- Civil wars(A lot) - Lost half of territory - Dictatorships - Foreign Interventions - Rampant corruption - Crippling Drug war.
So it's been a struggle just to stay afloat since before our country was founded. It's unfair to say "Go back and fix your own country". I mean dont you don't think we've been trying since the 1800s? It's just the government constantly works against the citizens. Rigged allections, corruption is outrageous. There's no clear answer to it. Not to mention the drug war that is the USA's doing but that effects Mexico the most. Combine all that and wages are shit, some states are unsafe, government rarely cares about you, and you feel your working isn't going towards anything. And still political parties fighting against each other, constantly undermining each other to the Detriment to of the country as a whole.
So to an American with their comfy life they don't see anything past "They're stealing my job, instead of fixing their country", it's pretty stupid because it's never that simple.

What I love about the "Goobacks" episode ending is its realistic approach to the inmigration problem: The same way the future is a shitty place because of people's actions in the present, most inmigrants come from countries that are shitholes due in part of US actions in the past (in latin america's case, CIA interventionism and Free Trade Agreements). So in order to prevent inmigration the US would have to promove politics that diminishes their influence in these countries but guess what? those changes would only make US citizens´s lifestyle less comfortable (just like having to actually care for the planet in order to prevent a crappy future) so of course nobody would get behind them, better to keep other countries as your farms/mines/factories and let those affected by the inevitable migrant waves bitch pointlessly about it.

I disagree with most of the surrounding points of the argument, like that immigrants prefer their own country when that is a more divided and subjective view, I think the main point is that ultimatley if not addressed correctly immigration will cause problems for both sides. Though that should go without saying for most major issues. The video, unlike something Jack Saint makes, is a bit more interested in pushing their agenda, but still allows for a proper analysis of the media to take place, unlike other channels that are based almost entirely on "destroying" SJW's/Nazi's. Jack Saint is a better media analyzer, but this video, even if a bit bias, still got to a grounded conclusion. I don't agree with the argument, but it is essentially the argument the show is making.

What I find really interesting is that the evidence on immigration shows that those who are just coming here for economic reasons choose to leave if those economic opportunities disappear. Remember 2008? How there was actually a exodus of migrant labor because all the jobs disappeared?
If the GOP/Right really wants to resolve the illegal immigration issue, why don't we simply codify work eligibility such that if ANY US employer is caught with ANY illegal workers, then the entire business and assets of the owner are seized and sold, and they (the owners) are subject to prosecution - no questions asked? You would likely see illegal immigrants drop to a trickle. But, no - that's not going to happen.
Why? Recall the ICE raid in 2019 at the Koch Processing Plant in Morton Mississippi? 700 illegal workers were arrested, four managers were sought for prosecution - and the company itself? Nothing. The plant is still there, still operating, likely still offering underpaid employment to illegals who have no rights, so redress and when accidents happen, no way to get back on their feet.
So, when you say "Liberal Douchebag" - you'll want to make a small adjustment. The word that should actually be used is "Hypocrite" and it should be addressed to the person in the mirror. Republicans -DON'T WANT- illegal immigration to end, because that's one of their primary sources of cheap, expendable labor.
Hypocrisy - that's all it is.

Then it's the fault of the people doing the jobs for less, not the bosses who want to pay someone less to increase their profits.
I know. Give the bosses a tax cut, that will fix everything because wealth totally trickles down.

As well as daily, weekly, monthly maintenance and so on, one job will be replaced with another. The only problem here is that many of the jobs that are being replaced with other ones is that the original job is generally entry level with little to no skills required.

No, automation will replace the blue collar jobs and will force the government to do more about education. Eventually there will be no manual labour jobs and everyone will be educated. That's just what's going to happen, the ultimate outcome isn't bad anyway, would you rather be educated and work a fulfilling job or stand at a conveyor belt all day. But if something isn't done about education you'll have a lot of unemployment. You can't stop companies from changing to machines if they're cheaper.

I mean, imagine all the things you could do with no job and all needs met.
You could learn piano, go to the beach every day, program a video game, etc...
You don't need a job to be happy and productive. You just need to see outside the box.
Because, I'm going to be frank, the box is crumbling whether people like it or not.

lol i like how the narrator acts as if the creators of south park assume they been in america of hundreds of years. sounds more like the narrator is ignorant on the subjects. also assuming that there is an "american culture" as if it was not just years ago that everyones parents or grandparents had just come from italy/ireland/germany etc.... also there was a history in america where there was a generation gap around the time of elvis and marilyn monroe, when americans stopped hanging out with previous generations, even so with that the civil rights movement and all those things american culture has always been just adjusting. unlike people from other countries which have a history that expands hundreds of years are nicer and is somewhere where everyone speaks the same language so is more laid back. point is dont act as if america has always been there and is great and greatness is not based on the land of other people who actually cared about nature. there would be no abundance if it were not for those people who did care about nature and did not reproduce and destroy randomly like the eastern hemisphere.

    • @JeanJacqueJaenJeux
      @JeanJacqueJaenJeux 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@mosesheffner You are totally right about flight stoppage with China, we did it way later but it was for the simple reason that the Wuhan region was already closed, first case in Europe was in Germany and we got infected pretty quickly. But I wasn't talking about that I was talking about after, when we were already in quarantine and started sending warnings to the US that this wasn't a joke and you guys and your president just laughed at ur face talking about Italy like an underdeveloped nation and that the US would not have any problem with "just a simple flu".
About HC I repeat our healthcare especially in cases of crisis like this is way better, it's free for everyone and you don't have to pay to stay alive or getting masks. Italy still did some mistakes during the process but attacking us on it is pretty stupid at this moment

Do schools really have teachers teach in two languages to accommodate immigrants? I’m from California, the state with most Mexicans and growing up we always learned everything in English. There were separate classes for immigrants learning English and there were even teachers that would scold students when we were caught speaking Spanish.
