Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

I’ve lived my entire life in Florida. Instead of fun snow days we get hurricane days where we all stay home and pray we don’t lose our roof.
As somebody living in the usvi, im pretty sure you mean hurricane parties where everybody gets wasted and nobody really cares if they lose a roof. I say this as an Irma and Maria survivor who went over 7 months w/out electricity
Born and raised. When my sister and I were kids we used to go over to my Uncles house ( he had shutters and camping gear ) and it was like an adventure . Now as a senior it's just a big pain in the butt.

This reminds me so much of my dad. He would sit staring out the window just waiting for enough snow on the ground to start blowing. He would go down the entire block blowing a path for the mailman, do our neighbor ladies driveway and if the plows hadn't come he'd start on the street. It was hilarious to watch but he loved it

As a born-and-raised Texan living in Dallas, I have to say he’s right. XD We cancel school at the slightest suggestion of snow.

I grew up in the buckle of the snowbelt in central NY. 5-8 inches is a dusting. We would get 3-5 FEET in a day. I now live in the Mohawk Valley, we get a dusting and they close school. It makes me laugh every time.
I still live in the snow belt, it's been a pretty mild winter for us all things considered.
I was so excited when they said Loveland would get 8-12 inches of snow but then it literally snowed maybe 2? 😂

@@DudeDad my husband helps grow and builds websites for rental companies especially in Colorado , so I’m going to have him reach out to that company and see if they want to work with his company!
That last storm was so disappointing! They canceled school on Wednesday, but Thursday had worse weather with the cold and not even a late start!
Welcome to Colorado. We don't really believe the weather report here. I'm a native... they're getting better at predicting, maybe 50% right on a good year.
@@amymihaly765 99% of the time I don't even bother to look at the forecast. The weather's going to do what it's going to do and I'm just along for the ride. LOL When they canceled school I did expect that we'd get some kind of accumulation, though, so I was disappointed when there was nothing worth mentioning.
You DO want the crockpots though! 😂 Nothing like a nice soup on a cold snowy day!

Ours was a nice pot of hot chocolate, or if near christmas, a pot of hot apple cider.

This video reminded me of my father who's in his mid-to-late sixties that man loves the snow and he still gets excited and he has grandchildren and he still gets he gets way too into the snow here in Buffalo I ain't lived over here for 40 years he came from Detroit and they didn't get that much now like we do in Buffalo😂

When I lived in NE, I would have gladly let you snowblow my sidewalk and driveway. I had to do it and had wet, frozen hair with icicles and mascara running down my face.
I live in Oregon, and let me tell you, we were not ready for that snow. I am a senior in high school, and last week I only had 1 day of school. I am telling you, on the day that we had snow, my town was empty. It was like a ghost town.

We live in Estes Park and totally relate to this. My husband is like this, getting all his plow trucks and guys ready for their plow routes.... then we get NOTHING. Colorado weather for ya. The ending 😂🤣

Being a Canadian I am a expert on shovelling snowy driveways and I will share my wisdom with everyone interested. I hope I don’t mess this up and confuse people.
Front door to driveway
1-1 Push the snow from the front door close to the garage.
1-2. Push the snow from the place you just pushed to the grass, use one arm motion taking a step forward or backward to the next section.
1-3. push the snow to the edge of your grass, lift and throw it a few feet move to the next section (you never know if you’ll get more, if you live on a shared driveway this method can be used replacing your garage with your property line)
Driveway
2-1 Push the snow from your garage to the street in the middle of your driveway
2-2 Refer to 1-2 and 1-3

In my neighborhood just south of Denver we don't say, "It's gonna snow!" the night before; we look outside when we wake up in the morning and say, "F*%$! It snowed!" Can confirm though that there is always someone who does the entire sidwalk on both sides of the street and when we finish shoveling each other out we do indeed pull out the waterski tow rope, saucer and quad and take turns dragging each other up and down the street.

It's all fun and games being pulled behind an ATV in the snow until you get slung into something. I took a tree across the chest in AF canyon and thought I was going to die. A few days in the hospital and 6 months of healing and I finally got better. Stay safe out there.
