    I had a hell of a time bleeding my clutch via the valve in the slave cylinder.
    Eventually, I “reverse bled” using a bottle full of fluid down at the slave and drew it back up to the reservoir with a hand-vacuum. 👍

    Thanks Dale for the info. I use this technique on mine. I just converted my slave clutch from internal to exterior system on my’90 YJ.

      Very cool. Love this method. Nice conversion. Internal can be a pain

    I just put a splitter into reservoir, one connected to line, the other with bleeder. I learned it works on either end. I put mine near the reservoir, then just pump and open to bleed it, like a brake line, you can even use the hose, and fluid in container to bleed yourself.

  • @UFZach35
    @UFZach35 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    How does this work if u have to disconnect the lines, after bleed, before install. I can’t keep slave connected to my hard line and feed it under hood and though to clutch housing?

  • @johnvandemark6264
    @johnvandemark6264 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks, the Crown cylinder doesn't have a bleeder valve. Didn't realize it wasn't pre bleed so I did it on the YJ with the help of my gal.

    would that method be actually the same as when it is hooked up by pumping the clutch pedal without using the bleeder valve at the slave cylinder?

  • @ervinterler6271
    @ervinterler6271 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This looks super simple. Would this work when the master/slave clutch cylinders still in the car? just open the master reservoir and pump the clutch a few times? (assuming you keep the master cylinder topped off). Seems too easy

    • @JeepSolid
      @JeepSolid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I know, right! Super easy. I don't see why it wouldn't work when in the vehicle

      The CMC can have air pockets inside, so having it on your bench enables you to tip it to get those all out. Way harder to do with the master cylinder in the car, unless your Hulk!

      I does work when in the car, just unbolt slave cylinder from the box and pumped it carefuly against the gearbox. 😊

    Great videos. They have been very helpful to a novice like myself replacing the clutch on a 2002 TJ. I am at the end of my project and am ready to bench bleed the clutch and install the master and slave cylinder. One problem: I inadvertently broke the retaining clip on the slave cylinder. Any ideas where I can get a new clip? Or is there a workaround? Thanks for the great videos.

      Hello,
      Thank you for your reply.
      In France, ethanol costs 2 times less than unleaded.
      The 2.5 mutlipoint can run on 50% ethanol + 50% unleaded but I would like to be able to run at 100%. ECU reprogramming "eprom" possible? to make the engine more reliable.
