I’ve never got motion sickness driving tesla. I’ve driven the MY, M3 and the Model S with 0-60 in 3 seconds. I got a new 2024 MY for $35k after everything. Really appreciate this video.
I tried, I waited, eventually it became clear, its another 12 months. I ordered a Y Performance, but am now leaning toward the no option, bland color long-range rebate X.
Anyone waiting for the Juniper seems to think it’s going to be a completely different vehicle. It’s going to look slightly different, have ambient lighting (which you can add to your current Model Y super cheap) and ventilated seats. I just bought a 2024 MYP, my gf has two horses 40 miles away. I gifted her my P85D which has free Supercharging. Plus I got the $7500 tax credit and 100% financing at 0.99%, $630 per month.
Because they think it's going to come out in like the next month. In reality I bet there won't be any deliveries in the USA until January of 2025. Even once it's announced it's months before it comes to the US market it might only be in Europe at first out of one of those factories and then another couple months before it goes on sale then another couple months before they start deliveries. China might be first too.
Finally a smart person!! I agree and everyone waiting for Juniper is sucked into the hype. They don’t seem to remember that the car is almost exactly the same. NOW is the time to buy the Model Y with all the latest hardware and chip that was released in 2023 and for an affordable price!!
Since my lease on my model Y is up now, went with the new Model 3 for now and then plan on waiting to see what happens with a new Model Y refresh. Came really close to going with the X but the value of the new Model 3, was too good features and price to pass up! Thanks Robert, excellent comparison!
i'm saving $2k/mo this year in hopes to put that as down payment towards my Model Y at some point next year for the refresh! I am still on the fence between an eventual used 2023 Model Y with stalks and low miles, or going for a new Juniper model year

I just got my MY LR AWD in November. Could have waited for the Junpier, but it seemed like from what most people were saying - including you/RR - it wouldn't likely I could be sitting in one until 2025. Now I'm hearing June, maybe. Which would have been perfect, as my lease ran out in June. I also would have been eligible for the $7500, which, as it turns out, I made just a little more than I thought last year and just missed the credit. Which sucks. big time. But... I also think the Juniper is going to be more expensive. Just a guess.
Hey Robert, based on your first-hand experience driving the Model X and Model Y, I would opt for the Model X! I want the creature comforts and additional technology for the life of the Model X, which I would drive for no fewer than five to eight years!
I’m thinking about getting the model Y when my lease is up on my BMW X5 this August. I want to wait for the Juniper, however, the pricing on the model Y performance is incredible right now. I’m thinking about just doing a 2 year lease…that way, I can get the new model Y in 2026 when, hopefully, demand for the new model Y has slowed down a bit.
Tesla just brought back transfer or FSD & free supercharging when you purchase a Model S X Y, including the new Model 3 if you purchase before March 31st 2024. Interesting point. Motion sickness is a real thing for me. It happens no matter what vehicle I’m traveling in, or who’s driving. No one has ever mentioned it with regards to Tesla. My dream car is a model 3. I like the size of it. I just wish it had a hatchback. However, if it could potentially make my motion sickness worse, I may have to rethink my dream car. Great video. Keep up the great work!
Test drive in city with lots of stop and go driving to see if this type of motion sickness is a problem. If so, putting car in “CHILL” mode helps me. Anything to reduce the sudden accelerations and decelerations helps reduce my tendency to barf after about 1/2 hour of jerky rides. If Tesla would provide a way to allow driver to set the STRENGTH OF REGENERATION, reducing regeneration would help make decelerations less jerky. Otherwise, extensive training of the drivers accelerator ANKLE is the only hope to smooth out the ride and reduce this problem.
Inventory is no different other than they have already shipped or arrived at lots. I am picking up a new 2024 MYLR on Tuesday with 2mi on it and it has $5000 off the build price because I picked inventory.
Who knows when the Juniper will be coming in huge availability in the U.S. The Model 3+ refresh has been out for many months now and none are available in the U.S. You're very likely looking at the end of the year (Nov-Dec) before you could get your hands on one

is that the parkinglot in the park near west hills high school in the santee area? i used to love climbing in the boulders nirth of there. what a beautiful place
Model 3 upgrades had smaller tweaks on the outside but inside some major upgrades much quieter and overall better drive. Expect the same for Model Y - I would wait. This is why Tesla is discounting older Model Y to get rid of inventory before Juniper release.
While the Model Y "juniper" refresh will add a lot of new features, the deal killer for me is the lack of stocks for signal turns and shifting. I have tried the Model X and never got used to everything being on the steering wheel or display. With the HUGE $5K discounts being offered on some existing 2024 Model Y inventory, plus the $7500 instant tax rebate, my trade in difference for a 2021 was only $8K for 2024 Model Y in the more expensive and awesome looking deep red. Thanks only $3K depreciation per year. I highly doubt the new refresh Model Y will come in less than the current Model Y and will likely not have the rebate.
To add, the refreshed model 3 range was very underwhelming (340 miles for M3LR in 2024, compared to my 2021 M3LR that came with 350). For Juniper, I am not anticipating anything over 350-360 in range, unless they are implementing some new battery tech? I am starting to doubt that Juniper will reach 350 now that the new EPA range has brought down the MYLR to 310 miles! I am going to pull the trigger on the current MYLR inventory deals for all the same reasons you mentioned. I am just not as optimistic in Junipers range. If anything Juniper won't come out till late this year or early next year. If they prove me wrong then I will get it in 2025.
I know several people who own a tesla and I had one and nobody I know ever was car sick from riding in it, so I am not sure where that's coming from or if it's just propaganda
Speaking from experience, people who get car sickness in any car on winding mountain roads may be prone to motion sickness from continual city type driving from too much jerky forward-rearward acceleration-decelerations as I have experienced in a Tesla. Activating CHILL MODE reduces the effect, but a mode to reduce REGENERATION is also needed to give the most reduction of this effect.
If you anyone is waiting with hopes that the 7500 off the car ...BEST to make that move this year...If you wait , no telling if it will stay or even prices will stay where they are. I got my 2023 Model S and got Ultra Red for free, 2 months later now it costs 2500 more for the same car...So yeah , dont waste time.
Ok. We made the leap and ordered a Model X today. We did this because Tesla offered us a great trade-in value for our 2022 Model Y, we got the full tax credit, long range and 5 seat configuration we wanted, ultra red color we wanted and we got several discounts from both the state (RI) and Tesla. They truly made the Model X and great value and option for us to pull the trigger.

@robert I recently got a full refund on my 2023 model y. Has anyone went through this process or am I the only one? Love Tesla but I’ve went through two awful experiences with them.
Wow Robert, this is an EXCELLENT review and comparison! The 2024 Model X door issue was by far the best highlight, as it was something recently observed at a demo test drive; unfortunately the current doors don’t have the best sensors for entering and exiting the Model X which makes it challenging at times when you have to push your way out of the vehicle. 🤔💭📝🤦🏻♂️ One cool feature on the 2024 Model X, hopefully for one of your future “2024 Model X Hidden Features” videos, is that if you press & hold the panel adjacent to the hazard lights, the drive controls appear for gear shift selection. Nonetheless, keep up the great content & work Robert; we have subscribed to your channel accordingly! 🙌🏼🙏🏼🫡👏🏼
I disagree that it’s worth waiting. The refreshed model 3 I found disappointing in person when I test drove it and the new features were not worth the extra cost above a YLR. The ventilated seats were very subtle, the light bar was easy to ignore, the cabin quietness and suspension were not as big a deal as I thought they’d be. So unless the range significantly increases on Juniper, I really don’t think it’s worth it. You also need to factor in how long it will take to get to North America and then the period you wait while Tesla sorts out the manufacturing issues, and you’re going to be waiting a while…plus we don’t know the tax rebate situation. The lack of the tax rebate on new model 3 makes it relatively unappealing.
Good God that is utterly clueless. Regen is at worst 0.2 G's maybe at its peak 0.3 G's. Somebody's getting motion sickness from that they need a cerebellar workup
More like Porsche Cayenne. Depends on whether you're a Fleetside guy or a Stepside guy. Squarebody vs Machback. I dig the X's overall style, but it had to grow on me. Very appealing to VW/Audi hoons. The Y is offensive like the Honda Herpes Recon Vehicle. Trying too hard to be both a Model 3 and the X.
Too much Osborne effect with people waiting for the Juniper, and too much disappointment on no $7500 tax credit on the new Model 3. Therefore, Tesla stock price is gonna disappoint the first part of 2024.
Here's an interesting point that I've seen as I am shopping this month for a Tesla to replace my wrecked CR-V hybrid: Used. Look at the used market. Model '18-'21 years of BOTH have settled at roughly the same price point, in real-world user asking prices. You can score an X for the same $40k asking price as a Y with identical miles, every day. When it comes to EV's, Americans have this weird mental block about buying them used. Which is silly. But also conditioned that way with bizarre logic and propaganda by the ICE die hards and grey beards. But used EVs, aside from rebuilt titles jobs, are if anything more trustworthy than a mogas burning car. They've been through the kinks and updates. But, the Halo models like the S and X have a bizarre way of dipping value that the 3 and Y don't. And it ain't all the extra gadgets making people think there's bigger repair bills. It's just a 'That's outside of my price range' mystique
Another video of the same video you made before. Can you please stop recording the same video over and over again. Like make something new and fresh. It’s getting stale watching the same video every single day man.
You can buy an inventory Model Y long range for less than $40k with the rebate and dealer discounts.

Ice review! I have a model ES and love it
I disagree that it’s worth waiting.
You're telling me that the model Y is cheaper than the model 3 right now bc of the new tax credit rules??
Yes my friend experienced car sickness from all the accelerations.
I was set on the Y but after watching this I'm very tempted by the X
Model 3. Uses the least amount of energy
I want more discounts on the current model
Also new model y’s new wheels we all havent seen too that you’ll get if you wait
The car sickness is liklely due to the regen, one pedal driving. My partner always got car sick in my Bolt EUV. Seems better in the Y.
Good God that is utterly clueless. Regen is at worst 0.2 G's maybe at its peak 0.3 G's. Somebody's getting motion sickness from that they need a cerebellar workup
OK. Thanks for weighing in. I'll tell her that. 😂 From a distance.
Great video Robert! Thanks
Will probably wait for new model y. However I’m really hoping it will still qualify for the full tax ev credit when it does come out.
Paint prices have changed on X since your video recording
I really want to like these Teslas’ but they just don’t look very appealing. Pontiac Aztecs?
More like Porsche Cayenne.
Depends on whether you're a Fleetside guy or a Stepside guy. Squarebody vs Machback.
I dig the X's overall style, but it had to grow on me. Very appealing to VW/Audi hoons. The Y is offensive like the Honda Herpes Recon Vehicle. Trying too hard to be both a Model 3 and the X.
My goal is to be the first one in my city to own the juniper ❤
2023 Model Y has an optional 3rd row for an extra $2500
Too much Osborne effect with people waiting for the Juniper, and too much disappointment on no $7500 tax credit on the new Model 3. Therefore, Tesla stock price is gonna disappoint the first part of 2024.
model Y Juniper all the way.
18:41 knock on glass, save your a$$
Another video of the same video you made before. Can you please stop recording the same video over and over again. Like make something new and fresh. It’s getting stale watching the same video every single day man.
Hopefully the model x becomes cheaper in the future
Definitely Model Y
Hey, tell Musk to do what he wanted his advertisers to do!
No buttons = engineered by very short sighted non-user child decision maker (who probably plays video games)!
too many single point of failures
Dude.....I am getting motion sickness from your filming style.
MELK
This could have been a 10-12min video
