Unless your at the front you may as well hang back for 5 minutes before setting due to the bottlenecks at the corners. At least then you can choose your line. Well done for doing it 👏🏻👏🏻
@@SB-dv8ih There was snow at the top of the mountain but wasn’t able to race from there as of the bad weather higher up. But we did get to ride from the top earlier in the week still and there was snow there. Was interesting starting lower down for the race. Mostly just mud 😂
@@bruford911 Not sure about mountain of hell but Mega is and definitely suitable for all levels of riders. There is a qualifier race which is a lot shorter but everyone will do that and will still do the main mega, just positions the riders, quicker riders at front and slower riders towards the back so it’s fair for everyone 😊 Such a great event and you get so much riding in the week!
Wait I didn't think Megavalanche wasn't happening!? Thought maybe Oliviere or somebody else said on their Mountain of Hell vid that this one wasn't going this year. Sweet if they rescheduled it! \o/
@@EvilNapkinPie I think it was mountain of hell that got cancelled. Megavalanche still went ahead but last minute changes meant we had to start lower down from the quali track start.
@@JasonDalling Oh yeah that's what it was. My bad I had the two mixed up. Still though good run. This stuff seems so fun. Too old for it now. And the closest I got was a trail or two back in the woods back in the 80's. :D
@@EvilNapkinPie easily done! Mountain of hell looks bloody fast! Never too old for it! You can ride these trails outside of the race week too. Such a great underdog bike park Alpe D huez is!
@@rider65 I can agree with the organisation of this event, I’ve done it 3 years and it just seems to be all over the place. Last minute changes, No organisation at the mid lift station on race day, which meant last year on the main race day, the race started without 50 people being at the top in time, I was one of them. And 2024 the weather couldn’t be helped but was still fun. Still an amazing event and place to be.
This was nice. That trail is a Monster. Thanks for sharing.

No snow?!? And puddles everywhere! Good effort surfing through all that muck 😀
And for overtaking 2 riders by literally riding over them 😂
@@MivecGPX haha! Thank you 😂
@@MivecGPX oh I know! I did feel bad! 🤣 That cattle grid was SO slippy!

How many miles is this race?
@@Rus-z2h I think around 14 miles
@JasonDalling awesome!
First time I’ve seen no snow

These guys walking bikes downhill in snow ruts: conditions are BAD
@@bruford911 Yeah it wasn’t the best year for the conditions 😂 Hopefully better this year! 🙌
Here and Mountain of Hell: open qualifying? Shorter race for less than pro riders?
