- E3 is just spoiling us this year with the trailers. Today the Cozy 4 reacts to The Last of Us Part II Gameplay Trailer. We were completely taken back with this trailer. Naughty Dog is coming for blood this year with the games. The game play is out of the world! We hope you enjoyed the trailer as much as us.

New details for The Last of Us Part II (Long):
New traversal and prone move-sets.
Combat has increased emphasis on tension, interactivity and realism.
Enemy AI references each other by name, and constantly communicates with each other.
Two different timelines explored in TLOU2.
New dodge/evade mechanic is a core part of combat and melee.
You now have a jump button.
Far more creative and emergent moments in combat thanks to big increase in breadth of options.
Improved stealth mechanics, including crawl, prone, squeezing into tighter gaps, underneath vehicles etc.
Expanded infected enemies and whole new classes.
You're not automatically fully hidden in grass. Extent of your visibility depends on height & density of foliage.
Much more verticality in combat scenarios now. She needs more routes and ways to engage.
Survival aspects are still a focus.
Different ammo types (eg explosive arrows) now. Each ammo type fulfills a particular strategy niche.
Animation system is completely overhauled so everything is even more realistic and transitions are seamless.
Wide linear combat environments are being expanded to be even larger and broader.
AI system massively improved for added realism.
No more auto AI telepathic awareness of you once spotted. They whistle to and actually communicate with each other.
Referred to as systemic check-ins of AI information. They pass information to each other more realistically to let new groups and enemies know of the unfolding situation or of your position.
Enemy awareness and ability to seek player out improved.
You can now craft different ammo and arrow types.
Expanding on the infected types and there will be new classes in the game.
Demo is set 4 years after the events of TLOU, in Jackson.
Seraphite is a religious cultish group, but they will not be black and white. Motivations explored.
Joel is somewhere out there in Jackson.
They use more advanced facial camera capture and mo-cap now, more advanced than they had with Uncharted 4.
Lots of new facial animation tech. More nuances of the face, creases, folds, build up of skin etc.
Eyeball tech also re-worked, now includes internal refractions, reflections and so on.

In this trailer I think I saw Ellie smile for the first time. I mean...she's smiled before but it wasn't such a pretty smile like this. I love that glare in her eyes and the way her lips formed. Naughtydog made the best game ever.

Shrek well it is pretty disgusting. I mean she literally smelled like a hot pile of garbage. Obviously, people are thinking that, right? Disclaimer: I have no problem with gays and stuff but I don't like gay relationships in games because I can't relate to it. I don't dislike Ellie because she is now lesbian, I just can't relate to it because I am a straight, half-white male like my main man Joel.
This is one of the best reactions i've seen to this amazing trailer! That part where Rana didn't know Ellie was a lesbian and was so shocked and happy. How all you guys completely lost your minds when you find out you're seeing gameplay. I just really love how invested and immersed you all are, and how much you appreciate the game. Cheers!

Kevin O'Grady she wasn’t having a flash back when they were kissing the gameplay part actually happens after the kissing scene because if you look at Dina’s arm she is wearing the same bracelet that Ellie is wearing in the gameplay part which means that either something happens to Dina or she gave the bracelet to Ellie
"Is it gonna be this fluid?" - we asked the same in the gameplay reveal for TLOU 1, and it completely lived up to it. Hyped.
Thinking Out Loud The final product didn't look like that. The AI was a lot more intelligent in the gameplay reveal, and they dumbed it down.
Like, it wasn't terrible or anything, but the AI certainly wasn't as clever.
I believe it's really not gonna be like that. Like the Dodge, what button is that going to be? Also when she's under the car she knows somehow when to pull the hammer of the gun. But overall it's still going to be a good game just not like this.
- Original - It's already been confirmed that there will be a dodge system. But the under the truck thing I do think it was scripted.
- Original - To be fair, the dodging is easy to implement in the gameplay. For example, you dodge knife attacks the same exact way in the Batman Arkham games.

The first game was not based around love; not romantic love, anyway.
It was just a father/daughter-type dynamic.
Hyper Dee yes it was based on love, love is not exclusive to romance, it’s the lost love that Joel missed with his daughter and how he learned to care for Ellie like his daughter.

It's the transition, it's not ideal to miss a transition but if you have to pause, it's the best time to do it. They miss the emotional whiplash but at least they don't miss the full emotional spectrum of each separate part.
Pro-tip, use the bathroom before filming a reaction video.
Naughty Dog always shows something from the middle of the game. The beginning levels are usually too spoilery and linear to properly represent the game. BTW they never said anything about the trilogy.
Neil Druckmann has mentioned before that he always saw the first game as an "origin story" for Ellie, but it's true that wasn't a confirmation of a trilogy being planned.

Juiceman Irving in the Grounded behind the scenes video, Neil does say that the first game does, in a way, create a hero origin story for Ellie. But he didn't mean it in the sense that more games were planned at the time.

Yes, this kind of fluidity in movement and reaction is possible now. And I'm sure Naughty Dog can take full advantage of this and even push it to the next level.

Also keep in mind that the first game was for PS3 and this is for PS4, of course it's going to look way better they certainly are going to take advantage of the hardware.

Ragnar Lothbrock a theory I heard is that the cult group slaughtered the entire Jackson settlement, and Ellie is out for revenge, which could explain her saying she's going to "kill every last one of them" in the teaser trailer, and why's she's wearing the bracelet.

I doubt the girl dies at the start. The actress seems to have too much importance in the promotion, she was even at E3, had a panel with the others. Either she's captured, or it's more complicated and she simply gave the bracers to Ellie.
Edit: if anything, with how trope aware I believe the writers at Naughty dog to be, I'd be way more worried about Joel than Dina.
Juan Benitez If theres any truth to that theory l wonder if Joel survived the attack? I think the time lines will jump between the past and present similar to the DLC Left Behind and the story will unfold and reavel what happened at the settlement community. I think some of the game play will be played from the perspective of of the past perhaps even through Ellie's memory. I think we will play as Ellie Mother with the two new characters shown in the second trailer at some point during the game. I also think it's possible that Joel is played via flashback. Idk but it's looking a bit like Joel might be dead in the present day storyline.

This game is set like 5 years after the first game so Ellie is like 19, and I guess Joel is 60ish.
You can see Ellie has Dina’s wrist band in the whole gameplay part so she’s probs avenging her/trying to save her, beast mode like Joel with Ellie in the first game..! Anyway I have so many theories and I’m super excited ! Glad you guys enjoyed it !

I've watched way way too many reactions videos off the E3 gameplay trailer of TLOU2 & by FAR you all had the best commentaries to the game. Almost no new element introduced in the sequel was missed by you all: dodging, the graphics, the sweat rub off, the stealth, going prone, under the car, reacting to getting injured, the AI characters talking to each other, their dialogue based on where you are hiding, the squeeze-throughs. Many of the top reactors missed a lot of those things. So your ability to notice small details are what put this channel up top in my book on quality reactors.

Yeah, but it would be nice if it was reversed in second one. By that I mean that In 1, we played primarily as Joel and a little as Ellie. It would be cool if the primary protagonist was Ellie, but we still got to play as Joel for part of the game.
Captain James Tiberious Kirk hes in his 50's. Thats pretty damned old. Especially factoring in the wear and tear of his past profession, coupled with the lack of modern medicine.
solodolosolomon jackie chan was still doing stunts and karate in his 60s. So it possible to still be tough in your early 50s. Joel like what 53 or 55 now.
the insurance jackie chan wasnt having life or death fights against mutated plant people, murderers, and cannibals. Also, again, if jackie twists his ankle or starts to get arthritis, he can go get proper medical help. Joel cant.

It's set 5 years after the first game, Ellie is 19 just an FYI :)) also the beginning of the trailer takes place in Tommy's camp in Jackson soI'm guessing Joel probably is a higher-up in this little society they've made. Also, my theory is that the cult that Ellie's after killed Dina and she's out for revenge and then along the way she may end up finding Anna(?), her mom, which I think is the lady from the Paris trailer.

A couple of facts:
Joel in the first game is in his late 20s I believe, or early 30s; Neil Druckmann has said that Joel was a teenager when he fathered Sarah, so he's relatively young in the prologue for a father with a 13-year-old daughter.
It's been only 5 years, not 10, so Ellie is 19 years old - not even in her 20s. At most, she might age into 20 or so depending on how much time passes in-story (as TLOU covered all 4 seasons and thus, at least half a year).
I can't wait for this game. Its so my favorite. Guess those two are never ever ever, getting back together.

I dont think Joel is thinking about fireflies when he was busting that guys balls. I think he wanted him to stay clear of infected areas, because probably only him, Tommy, and Tommy's wife know that Ellie is immune. He doesn't want the people she patrols with see her get bit, and have her mask break, and them see her inhale a bunch of spores.

Sadly the gameplay was scripted as fuck just like the first TLOU gameplay (you can check it out if you want). I highly doubt the enemies AI will be like that. Anyways, it's gonna be an amazing game.

Justin Farr You should really look into getting a PS4 tons of high tier exclusives that have gotten high praise: Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, God of War, Bloodborne, Detroit Become Human. Not to mention games like Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, and Spiderman are coming exclusively to PS4 as well all with exceptional graphical fidelity.
The level of details is truly beyond belief, and I don't even mean the graphics, I mean Ellie's interaction with the environment, the dodging, the fact that she clicks the safety off the gun before shooting, the npcs' reaction to what the mc is doing. This is phenomenal. Hopefully, we'll get this on Q1 2019, but this is just wishful thinking. I'm not sure how much I would pay to get this right now, but it would be a lot.

Fellrendión i know, there's been such a heavy backlash against her looks, saying she looks "uglier". At most, she looks a little different. it's unlikely that many fireflies who were not present at the hospital when Joel rescued Ellie know the details of what really went down. I'm sure they're aware that a lot of fireflies died along with Marlene, but remember that the fireflies were also quite secretive and for good reason, one of the bigger ones being that they were hunted by the military. so I don't think Ellie will come across some random firefly and then have him spill the beans regarding something a random firefly probably knows little about. I'm also not with the theory that the fireflies are actively looking for Joel and Ellie cos to me that makes no sense on so many levels.
