Historical records indicate that the present Uyghurs were formed by admixture between Tocharians from the west and Orkhon Uyghurs from the east in the 8th century CE. The Uyghur Empire was originally located in Mongolia and conquered the Tocharian tribes in Xinjiang. Tocharians such as Kroran have been shown by archaeological findings to appear phenotypically similar to northern Europeans, whereas the Orkhon Uyghur people were clearly Mongolians. The two groups of people subsequently mixed in Xinjiang to become one population, the present Uyghurs. Uighar people do not have Iranian ancestry, but their fellow Uzbeks do... Uighars do also have some East Indian admixture....
+HISTORIAN These two groups of turks are very similar. I'm sure uzbek people do have some East Indian admixes, especially nowadays since they have historical and cultural ties with India as well.
uzbeks have their iranian admixture due to their tajik neighbors and of course the persian culture influence as for the area conquest. Genetically they are turks+iranic tribe admix.
To correct a common misconception. While current Hui people with most of them now looking quite similar to the Han Chinese, their origin is different. Hui people are of varied ancestry, many directly descending from Silk Road travelers. Their ancestors include Central Asians, Arabs and Persians who married Hans. West Eurasian DNA is prevalent-6.7% of Hui people's maternal genetics have a West Eurasian origin. Several medieval dynasties, particularly the Tang, Song and Mongol Yuan Dynasties encouraged immigration from predominantly Muslim Persia and Central Asia, with both dynasties welcoming traders from these regions and appointing Central Asian officials. In subsequent centuries, they gradually mixed with Mongols and Hans, eventually forming the Hui. Nonetheless, included among Huis in Chinese census statistics (and not officially recognized as separate ethnic groups) are members of a few small non-Chinese speaking communities. Among them are several thousand Utsuls in southern Hainan province, who speak an Austronesian language (Tsat) related to that of the Vietnamese Cham Muslim minority, who are said to be descended from Chams who migrated to Hainan.[10] A small Muslim minority among Yunnan's Bai people are classified as Hui as well (even if they are Bai speakers),[11] as are some groups of Tibetan Muslims

Turkic ppl are mongoliod only... The fact of Hui intermarriage with turks doesn't make them mongols. As intemarriages happen in all nationalities.
Saudi Arabia ksa Yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to say, to correct an earlier commenter who says Hui are just Han who happened to be Muslim, which isn't correct. Han who become muslim is still Han by ethnicity, muslim by religion, different from Hui by ethnic ancestry.

Do not get CHinese people wrong here. Nobody hates islam or what, they are just telling you minority groups get preferential treatments in terms of education and many other stuffs. China has good relationships with most Islamic countries and part of reason is that China respects islamic culture. But claiming everything good on earth is because of Muslims is too much, every culture is beautiful. Besides islam, there are cristianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and COnfuciasm.
Chinese muslims are culturally conservative to an extent, but they are very peaceful people since they also live among many other ethnic groups who are not Muslims but Buddhists, Taoists, Animists and etc... Chinese Muslims are very proud people. They don't need others to tell them what or how they should act and live.
@WillonFire87 I don't think huis have any connection to persians or arabs; they are most likely related to turks, a native nation in central asia. The guy at the beginning is talking in Turkish.
Okay, here the thing about China. You have the natives, the later comers and the invaders. In Ancient China, you have the Miao-Yao, the Sino-Tibetan, the Lolos and the Yue tribes. The rest are late comers or invaders.
@Balencian I was responding to Monkeyshex who claimed that she is NOT a Chinese Muslim by the logic that Chinese cannot be Muslim. Thus I stated the logic that there is no contradiction in the terms. This singer is Muslim by religious affiliation and ethnicity. And I'm not going to get into the debate on what's considered more "Chinese". I generally find ethnic purity a stupid concept.
Masha Allah..
Mixed "chinese music" & "middle east music"
Become the beautiful music :)

Hui girl, beautiful good
Cool vid dude. Whats her name by the way?
VERY BEAUTIFUL !!!
Okay, here the thing about China. You have the natives, the later comers and the invaders. In Ancient China, you have the Miao-Yao, the Sino-Tibetan, the Lolos and the Yue tribes. The rest are late comers or invaders.
Mashaallah, she's beautiful....
That is amazing nice. I liked it
Beautiful Video - Beautiful Music - Best Wishes

The music isn't cringe worthy to me. I think it's incredibly beautiful.
What a beautiful song !!!
Maasyaa ALLAH nice from Indonesia
wow what a beautiful song
@kolraob
Hui muslims in China use some Uyghur words too, especially for religious purpose. but Huis are genetically Chinese mostly.
thanks dude
@Balencian I was responding to Monkeyshex who claimed that she is NOT a Chinese Muslim by the logic that Chinese cannot be Muslim. Thus I stated the logic that there is no contradiction in the terms. This singer is Muslim by religious affiliation and ethnicity. And I'm not going to get into the debate on what's considered more "Chinese". I generally find ethnic purity a stupid concept.
"The music is cringe worthy"
Sorry, I think it's gorgeous. ^_^
