This is an episode tailor made for my husband! He has lived many places, but some of his fondest memories are from Lampasas, TX. We took a trip there and to other places in Hill Country in October 2021. We are looking forward to heading back that way maybe this year. We love your show and I listen to your podcast often. Never stop promoting the great state of Texas.
My great x3 grandfather was Thomas Huling and helped settle Lampasas among other towns across Texas. He's buried in the old Huling-Anderson Cemetery found in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. My parents live in between Lampasas and Kemper.
I spent 63 of my 65 years on earth going through Lampasas on my way between Comanche and Austin. (Either Texas 36 to Hamilton, US 281 to Lampasas, 183 to Austin, or 183 to Goldthwaite, Texas 16 to Comanche.)
As always a great trip! Y'all should go back to Dripping Springs. A lot's changed there, and they even have the only crowd funded distillery, The Crowded Barrel. They're making great whiskey there, and it's right up the road from the Salt Lick.
Note to self (that’s you Chet)…Sulphur and chiggers don’t play well together, if ya know what I mean. When I was a kid in Stephenville, we dusted the cuff of our jeans with Sulphuric powder…I reckon that would work if you got your pant legs wet with the water…. - “Ol’ Scooter” in East Texas
The best compliment I can pay your show is that it is very much a modern "Texas Hill Country Reporter." I love it.
You mean Texas Country Reporter? Not Texas Hill Country Reporter.
@@jasondelaney6849 Yes sir. You are right still a great show.
That's a high compliment
@@TheDaytripper is well deserved

Just read that Eve finally hopped on that flying pig and left the building, which is a bummer!!
She did; in May 2024. Took all the taste in the food with her. Maybe the food will get better w/ time.
