- People ask me how we keep our eight miniature Australian Shepherds / Miniature American Shepherds looking neat and clean even though they live on a farm, swim in a pond, run through mud and brush and roll in nasty stuff. In this video I show how easy it is to keep an Australian shepherd or any double coated breed looking it's best.
Great information. Thank you
Hi John, I am glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for showing how it’s done. Very helpful! It obviously helps, too, to have trained the dogs for impulse control and remembering that you are their boss.👏🏻
Yep, all the table training they get as puppies pays off in so many ways later in life.
Great video! If you ever do in depth grooming of each dog I'd totally stay to watch all 12!
Hi Kaorikonoha, Wow, maybe I will do that one day. I kinda rushed the grooming because I didn't think anyone would want to watch it for very long. You are the second person saying you want more.
I would have stayed to watch all 12 dog's!! I use the same tools on my border collies. I found It pays off to get good quality equipment. I don't have a clipper but only one of my dog's needs trimming. I might have to get one now. Great video thanks for the tip about spraying first. I have the spray but rarely use it.
Hi BCDU, thanks for watching! I did all the little Aussies today and the border collies the other day. Quite a workout. Spraying sure keeps the hair from flying all over the place and if you use a shine product it helps to repel dirt.
@@dreamgaits The music at the start with all the dog's, my favourite is Barkley, was quite funny. Anticipating the grooming, I somehow missed the promo sketch hilarity:)
ThankYOU Great Advice
Glad it was helpful!
I enjoyed the video. I have two boys and obviously my concern is the area around their male parts. Neither is neutered so tips on grooming these areas would be greatly appreciated.
Very carefully!! And don't shave the hair on the sheath or in front of it as it causes a horrible itch.
Would you be kind enough to share where you get your grooming tools; brand or where we can get them? Thank you!
Mine are soooo old. I usually get them at dog shows. But you can get a blade rake and an undercoat rake and a metal comb on line. The more it costs the better it will be.
Where is his tail?
Behind him.
Mylo hates the brush Sparky hates the fast dryer 😅my moms dog has those hound nails, makes me crazy
Hi DynastyTrickDogs, I think the dryer is the hardest thing to get them to accept. Interesting about the brush. All of mine like to be brushed.
Hi! Which spray is that?
That is actually a horse shine product but you can also buy dog shine products such as "the stuff" which is used for show dogs. You can get that and dilute it but really I just use my horse shine spray I use on the horses. Show Sheen is one of them, the one in the video is something else. I will let you know. Also, Show Sheen makes a brush in shampoo for dogs.
Oh, thank you very much for two videos.
Your dogs are so submissive. I love that.
so rough!!
Ruff Ruff!
I agree! Be gentler!
